Word on the street over the last few days was that former Michigan starting QB Tate Forcier, who was in the process of transferring from the Wolverines, would be visiting Miami and meeting with head coach Al Golden to discuss the possibility of becoming a Hurricane.
Well today that possibility became a reality as it was widely reported that Forcier had officially submitted his paperwork to transfer to the University of Miami.
Joe Schad from ESPN reported that Forcier praised Al Golden and UM staff in saying: "There is so much positive energy around this program."
Manny Navarro reported that he spoke with Tate's father Mike Forcier by phone who confirmed that his son was transferring to Miami. Forcier the Elder also stated that :"Tate has to complete a few on-line classes before enrolling and taking classes at UM."
As most fans know, he will have to sit out the 2011 season due to NCAA transfer rules but will be able to practice with the team this year and then compete with Stephen Morris and any new 2012 recruits for the starting QB position next year.
While some fans have expressed some doubt in Forcier's ability to win the starting job next season, he will certainly at the very least bring attention and competition to the QB position at Miami.
And that is more than you could say before today's events transpired.
Wrap it up, we'll take it!

Forcier is a good move and better "fit"
Posted by: Sebastian | February 09, 2011 at 04:52 PM
Heard from a few sources that 2 players are likely to transfer before Spring practice begins. Not sure yet, just "likely".
I'm just sayin...
Posted by: SOUP | February 09, 2011 at 04:58 PM
He was bet out because Robinson was faster and can run an Option system better......IMO thats no knock on the kid.
Posted by: pbcfrcane13 | February 09, 2011 at 05:00 PM
SOUP, any word on what the deal is with Brennan Carroll tweeting "Welcome to the U x2"?
Who's the second commit?
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | February 09, 2011 at 05:07 PM
Second commit is AJ Leggett recommitting to UM. (He decommitted to FSU a few weeks ago)
Posted by: ColoradoCane | February 09, 2011 at 05:11 PM
So, no Brisset despite the mother full court press, no Savage despite the grandparents owning a house in South Florida, but Forcier instead because he likes, "the vibes," just like a true to form San Diego washout?
That splatting sound you just heard was Golden's recruiting guru rep taking a sudden deceleration into a wall and not surviving intact.

That is correct.
Posted by: SOUP | February 09, 2011 at 05:18 PM
Forcier is a little too close to Kirby Freeman, for my liking. Hope its just for competition sake. I'm not too confident in his upside in the pro-style O. Again, I'll give him a shot if his # is called, but I'd rather have a polished Morris over the next three years, than anything else
.......A "Polished Morris."
That one practically wrote itself.....

What the status of this player still being unsigned?? MOFO is big
Chavis Akins DT 6'4" 321 out of Homestead Senior
Posted by: Sinistercane | February 09, 2011 at 05:20 PM
Maybe just maybe something out of AGs control happened that kept JB frpm coming here
Also it could be possible that AG and others didnt like what they saw with Savage
Posted by: Sebastian | February 09, 2011 at 05:22 PM
Could it be that AG and Fisch wanted a QB with experience to run the scout team. What better way to get a defense prepared than to actually practice against someone that's decent.
Posted by: MassivCane | February 09, 2011 at 05:29 PM
Ogv,
I'll for once agree with you on that one. Savage, to me a better fit. I guess he decided not to dip in the cookie jar again once to often. Those who wait, are going to be late!

LOL!
I had to save the OTHER article I wrote before due to Golden signing two players today. It will run Friday AM.

That's what I've been trying to say!
Posted by: SOUP | February 09, 2011 at 05:33 PM
No sh*t...at least our D will get a decent look from the scout team QB for a year!
Posted by: ColoradoCane | February 09, 2011 at 05:37 PM
I do not have a feel for TF, but then again, I am not AG and the staff. Have to see what happens...long ways off before he ever plays so we will see.

The 14-9(3-6) `Canes bball team are on the road to take on the worst team in the ACC Wake Forest 8-15(1-7)
There is nothing and I mean nothing that the Deacons do well
There is no reason the `Canes dont end the road misery tonight
If the `Canes dont win this game then leave Haith at the airport

All about Tater

Go Canes!!!
Posted by: NativeCane | February 09, 2011 at 06:00 PM
Something else is up with Savage, ain't no sophomore slump that bad. If all was well, Golden would've taken Savage over Forcier...
Posted by: CaneRock | February 09, 2011 at 06:01 PM
I think Golden got spooked, by the Brissett episode and decided whoever came first and committed was in.
Now I ask again do we have any schollies left, for the DT spot? I know Cormier & Pompey are out there. Does anyone down there know or have any info?
Posted by: Herbieibis | February 09, 2011 at 06:07 PM
I just talked to a buddy of mine who is a Michigan alum and he thinks this is a good move for both Miami and TF. In his personal opinion Tate is much more suited to run a pro style O then the spread. Like a couple of individuals stated on here at the very least he'll give our D some looks on the scout team. Imagine preparing for a team with Whipple simulating plays......f ing disastrous.
Posted by: ColoradoCane | February 09, 2011 at 06:12 PM
Unless this picture was doctored, or Forcier was a closet Miami fan, maybe Forcier to Miami has been a done deal for a while. Click on this link, and look at the 16th picture, and you will see TF in Miami apparel:

That CAN be arranged!
But will prolly not be necessary.
Posted by: SOUP | February 09, 2011 at 06:12 PM
Yeah, Tate should give us some good looks for GTs Triple Option...
Posted by: CaneRock | February 09, 2011 at 06:15 PM
Ive seen Wake play twice this season and they are pathetic
The `Canes should win this game by at least 15
I cant stress enough how bad this Wake team is
Posted by: Sebastian | February 09, 2011 at 06:26 PM
Besides this game tonight the `Canes have road games against
UNC Greensboro 5-18, B.C. 15-9, FSU 16-7, GT 10-12
Home games against
Duke 21-2, Clemson 17-7, Maryland 15-8
This game and the UNC Greensboro game have to be locks....thats 16-9......then what????
8 games left to go....17-12??
Posted by: Sebastian | February 09, 2011 at 06:36 PM
Kind of ironic we're getting a California quarterback by way of Michigan would couldn't beat out a local quarterback we didn't recruit.
Posted by: Old Skool | February 09, 2011 at 04:40 PM
Good one.
Posted by: DZ8 | February 09, 2011 at 07:05 PM
I heard Savage was making some kind of demands. Saw Savage play, don't remember seeing Tate play. Would've prefered Savage but oh well.
Posted by: DZ8 | February 09, 2011 at 07:06 PM
Posted by: CaneRock | February 09, 2011 at 06:15 PM
Exactly! Although he's more of a West Coast offense QB at his best from what I've seen of him in action.
Is my math off, or is the backup QB not running the scout team over Forcier sitting out this year? You want depth and to get both eligible QB's ready during the week as much as you can, you split the snaps up like that to get Morris or Harris the most prepped you can for the coming game in case of emergency right? Besides, Forcier's just there to take 3rd string snaps next year to the new freshman who replaces Jacory anyway.
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | February 09, 2011 at 07:09 PM
A Gadbois and a Forcier on the Canes.
Mon Dieu.
Posted by: Old Skool | February 09, 2011 at 07:15 PM
Next all we need is a Cormier
Posted by: Old Skool | February 09, 2011 at 07:16 PM
Not quite 5 minutes into the game and the `Canes are up on the Deacons 14-5
Posted by: Sebastian | February 09, 2011 at 07:21 PM
What is AJ's story? And any chance the we get any more signees?
Posted by: LA3 | February 09, 2011 at 07:21 PM
Let the record show that I am not a big fan of TF. If it works out, great but he had his wings removed when at MEEECHIGAN because he did not practice well. When your own teamates call you out, that is a problem.
I just hope i don't have to say "told ya so" one day.

An 8-3 run pulls WF within 4 at 17-13 with 12 minutes to go
Posted by: Sebastian | February 09, 2011 at 07:29 PM
Is that canechic pretending to be raizecane?
Posted by: DZ8 | February 09, 2011 at 07:30 PM
I'm not excited about Forcier either but what do we really lose? One scholarship spot. Some of our players will transfer, the schollys will be there. Golden is so organized and meticulous in every thing else I gotta trust he is in this as well.
Good one up there OGV... your point is accurate. Not quite the QB haul we wanted or expected this year.
Posted by: DZ8 | February 09, 2011 at 07:33 PM
A game of runs
`Canes go up by as much as 9 then the Deacons will make a run and cut right back into the lead
Less then 8 minutes to go and the `Canes are up 24-21
Posted by: Sebastian | February 09, 2011 at 07:41 PM
At the half the score is all tied up at 37
Yep...the `Canes are tied up with the 8-15 Wake Forest Demon Deacons
No adjustments have been made to guard C.J. Harris who has put up 16 points....his season high is 17 points
Of course the `Canes already have 10 turnovers
What the hell is Haith doing again??? This game should of been over by now
Posted by: Sebastian | February 09, 2011 at 08:06 PM
Thanks for the updates Sebas57... I think?
Miami deserves better.

Thanks for the comments everyone much appreciated Just got home and grabbed a snack to suplement the Hospital food I ate :(?
Blood test revealed low Iron, Hemaglobin and 2 more I can't remember ,all readings were normal 4 months ago and all previous 6 month tests.
The first invasive test (upper gastro) revealed a extremely iritated stomach lining but no perforations. The decision to do the lower gastro and the Colon will be made tomorrow.
Strange thing is she has not had any pain at all just loss of energy and some neausea
I can't stress enough if you think there may be something wrong do not procrastinate , go see U'r Doc it could save U'r life. It took me 1 week to get her to call & they took her immediatly. after the blood test Dr. Ryan called and told me get her to ghet the hospital ASAP a room is ready.
Glad we did it might have been much worse I hse waited any longer.

DZ8,
Yes the `Canes really do deserve better then this
Ive watched most every game this season and its just getting worse
You cant get up by 9 against a team this poor and in just a matter of minutes have them come back and tie it up at the half
Hell, On a few trips Haith couldnt even figure out what defense to get the `Canes in. Some were in zone while the guys on the inside were in man which led to easy passes to the rim
He called for Grant and Scott to pick up the pressure up top so what happens....he leaves the 3 down low so C.J. can sit out on the wing and light the `Canes up
Posted by: Sebastian | February 09, 2011 at 08:24 PM
Always in me and my wifes thoughts and prayers Fran
Posted by: Sebastian | February 09, 2011 at 08:25 PM
Down 46-45 with 15 minutes left in the game
Dont let Haith on the flight home if he lets the `Canes drop this game
Posted by: Sebastian | February 09, 2011 at 08:29 PM
Thanks sebastian57 appreciate that
I pooped going to bed
Go Canes

I wished I could watch more Miami basketball but after that synopsis Sebas57 I dont think my liver could take it. It sounds like they're still searching for rock bottom, from which to build right? Shouldn't that have been done years ago? Haith has been there awhile.
Posted by: DZ8 | February 09, 2011 at 08:38 PM
Tied up at 53 with 11 minutes to go
Big Reg 19 points 3 rebounds
Scott 13 points
`Canes shooting over 54% but also allowing the Deacons to shoot over 54%
Posted by: Sebastian | February 09, 2011 at 08:40 PM
You don't want your back up QB runnig the scout team because that QB runs the O that other team runs. Thats why you have your 3rd string or a RS QB run it.
1 and 2 take snaps running your O
