Consider yourself lucky: at least it's not your doctor. Then, it costs more, and if you're still broken, it's not as easy to fix as just buying a new tractor.

Herbieibis

Perryman, Dorsett, Finnie, Grooms, Grimmbal, Crawford, Johnson & maybe Pierre, Simply because we are going to need help up Front.I rather see Pierre, Johnson & Dorsett reshirt, Dorsett more so because of the number of WR's we have coming back.

ftmcane

dj's got my back!

yeah dj like spending $1200 for the vets to tell me my dog is sick. And to just say that it could be one of 3 things. And then to say it will cost a mere $4000 to find the exact cause but that there will be no cure. Hey thanks guys!

The multi-post thing used to happen much more often. It was like living with Rain Man or something.

canechic

She is better, she is taking prednisone and is eating. This treatment however is just temporary....today is not starting out to be a good day. If she has cancer I am not sure how long she has to live. Just taking one day at a time with her and hoping for the best.

4-Real

I'm not disappointed with the recruiting ftm, just a little concerned that to much time & effort is being spent on the summer campers where as the all-americans seem 2 b getting ignored right now..jmo

raizecane

4-real - these 'summer campers' will one day be all-americans. The future is looking bright.

ftmcane

isn't this a down period when coaches can't contact recruits? having camps which everyone is currently doing, is a way i assume to get kids on your campus without breaking the rules. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Herbieibis

4-real I'm feeling your pain dog, on us letting the Double A's slide off into the sunset, while we're taking verbals left & right from some no names based on what they see in camp and not in pads. It's nice to know that some of these cats have greased hips but lets see what they do in games. I also understand that verbals are not binding so some of these dudes will never make it here. Hopefully these guys know what their doing because they act like they got to get this recruitng headache out of the way before July 1ST, so they all can go on a cruise.
I believe we do get Northrup & the T.E. Price at least those are news makers, who most agree will make an impact and are great gets for us, if they were to sign.

Can U believe that Fos Sports has the Flipping Seminoles as their #1 team. What these guys been smoking. Okie will bomb those dudes. Manuel is another Jabonney, great one game and a dud the next. He's not the QB to get them over the hump and if they look at us the wrong way, will slap the snot bubbles out of them, like we have so many times before.

OhioCane

InsideTheU - "Miami head coach Al Golden is personally recruiting RB Drew Harris, who has rushed for over 3,900 yards and 58 touchdowns in the last two seasons."

OhioCane

Herbie - Golden was recruiting kids to play at TEMPLE, and had 2-3 kids go pro this yr. I trust him completely in recruiting and development.

raizecane

Herb - FSU is not #1 in my book either but they will be very strong this year. So strong that if you asked me now, they would be favorites to win the ACC. Of course I say this with while not wearing my Hurricane Glasses.

I am with Ohio.....In Golden We Must Trust

canechic

Again everybody wait it out. I understand what 4real is saying and his concern. We have spent years saying trust and hope and really as fans have only been left with very subpar seasons and players.

I understand recruiting really is a crap shoot. Some kids may turn out to be good and some busts. You can only identify "athletes" in a weekend camp. They might be good and they might not. My realistic side says most of these kids will sign elsewhere and those who really want to be canes will remain. Many more factors will play into actually signing than just these kids physical talents....this is Miami's reality. We cannot offer money or cars, we cannot cut slack on grades (even though to me the requirements are very low and if you cannot make this cut than.......) and questionable behavior will not be tolerated.

I will choose to wait and see. I just hope to see some more leaders on the team this year. I want to hear more stories about players organizing practices and work out sessions. Less b1tch sessions and more work sessions. Less Xbox tourneys and more study sessions. This will make me see that this team means business, will be honoring their scholarship this season and start playing some quality football.

UMike

I dont think these kids got offers just because of their performance at camp..imo..i think these were players we already scouted or evaluated and just had a chance to talk to and see in person in the camp. I haven't heard any of these kids say "well I didn't hear anything from miami, then at camp i got an offer"..most of what I read is "miami was interested before camp..." again...imo...also, I don't think it matters how quickly we get commits. at the end of the day I'm sure we will have room, or make room for the "all americans" (we have no idea who will be an AA) if they want in...if we arent on these kids early we may loose out to the likes of wake forest, clemson, louisville etc...then we will complain that we weren't on them soon enough lol... I mean, these are mostly, if not all Florida kids that were keeping home. I will trust the system because I cant remember the last 5 star recruit working out at miami..although i believe A. Brown will do ok, I think he is good just in Shannons doghouse. Every spring game or practice I saw, A. brown was everywhere making plays....jmo of course.

Herbieibis

Look, I like what Golden is doing too. Where were all these evaluation camps before. Now we are getting a birdseye view of the talent from all over but dangling schollies out to every Tom, Dick & Harry, to me is going to cause us some headaches down the road. You know some of these Prima Donnas are going to wait till signing day and do the hat thing. At the rate we're going, will we have any schollies left to offer. There are still some big names left out there, especially at DB & WR, which along with D-Tackle are the areas to me, we need to really concentrate on.

UMike

Herbie,..I definitely see your point, I just assume the coaches know what their doing in that regard. With people transferring or being dismissed that opened up a few more schollies. Also, just because a kid says he got an offer at camp doesn't mean he actually did...imo...I think some of these 3-star florida kids are the kids in past years that go on to duke, wake forest etc and then kill us when we play and we all wonder why we didn't recruit them. I don't think their offering schollies to every kid they see, im sure they have done their homework on these kids. If he can send kids from Temple to the nfl through the draft, I trust his methods. I would rather risk a schollie on a 3-star florida kid than a 4 or 5 star kansas kid lol...jmo of course

Loco

Is anybody from in/around Bradenton? And know where are good places to live?

I just got accepted to Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and need to find a place to live haha

Ohio_Cane

As far as the people who are worried about stars after a high school players name... Keep in mind, Anthony Chickillo was a 2-star this time last year. Now look at him.

That said, relax if we offer a 2-star, 3-star, 4-star, etc. 1: Stars don't matter anyways. 2: They may gain more by the time Signing Day comes around.

canechic

Yay Loco that is awesome....six will be your best guide for info on Tampa.

Ohio stars mean nothing wasn't Ryan Moore a 5 star wr.....he was another one with a bad Mary Jane habit. And this I know from one of his daddy's close friends.

Such a shame. Life is too short to spend it smoking bad Mary Jane.

That's why I moved to the West Coast.

canechic

LOL DJ!

I don't advocate smoking of any type, since I know smoking killed my Dad but if you kids smoke the Mary Jane at least have a work ethic like Ricki Williams. Never ever see that guy take a play off.

To me alcohol is and can be just as bad as weed. One is just legal and one not...but since it is illegal you get caught and there are consequences.

Herb - I spoke to AG and he told me that by offering every Tom, Dick, and Harry, the higher profile players are saying "hey, we better jump on this bandwagon or there won't be any room for me".

He is using that Psychology degree to the fullest.

Only if you are looking for the best adult establishments, haha

CaneRock

Herbieibis, if Golden believes in the "star" system more than He believes in His ability to MOTIVATE,DEVELOP A PROGRAM, and COACH, then He AIN'T worth His salt in coaching, and that goes for any coach for that matter. Same thing goes for the "Prima Donas", if they believe in their abilities, and they KNOW that they can start at any program that they walk into, then it won't matter how many schollies we have left to offer in February, their abilities, and the coaching staff doing their math will take care of that.

And as far as us "slapping the snot bubbles" out of FSU...yeah...I agree with the "slap" part, we sure as hell "slapped" them last season...BUT WHAT GOOD WAS "SLAPPING" WHEN FSU PROCEEDED TO KICK THE PISS OUT OF OUR ASSES!!! Hell, their CBs were hitting harder than our LBs, Damien Berry and Laron Byrd will tell you that.

Six

86 - it's gonna be UiF that wins it all ... called it at the beginning of the season, way too much depth even with their young players and those kids can hit - esp. the local Tampa kid, Preston Tucker (Plant High), who is just lighting it up in post-season play (18 RBI in 8 Games) and will basically return for his Senior Year b/c he wasn't taken until the 16th Round for some reason

That kid is going to shatter Croc hitting records next year - even with the new bats

And, the Crocs are going to be even more scary next year - their recruiting is insane, just for instance them landing the 2 studs off of Bishop Verot High for next year's class ... big big boys, a power hitting 1Baseman (Daniel Vogelbach 6'0 260 lbs) and Pitcher (Hudson Boyd 6'2 245 lbs).

When I mean big, I mean very large kids - Vogelbach looked like he could've been on Biggest Loser, but he can freakin mash at the plate. Their pitcher is a front line kid, he took yoga in the off season before this year to help with his flexibility and overall thinking on the mound - he said that he'd do yoga for an hour, go through an entire game in his head, pitch by pitch, before he even physically pitched

Lakeland (FL) Victory Christian Academy athlete Demeitre Brim is a 6-foot-3, 200-pounder, he is being recruited as an offensive athlete. Currently he is commited to Virginia. Miami is closing in fast on him though.

360Cane

Are we really upset we've offered our camp MVP a schollie? Last year we were upset we didn't have enough commits. Now we're upset we have too many.

Too many flip-floppers around here. Make your damn minds up.

Six

raizecane - ah man, don't hate, hahaha

Loco - there are a lot of nice little joints around Bradenton .. even Craigslist has some nice apartments listed there, but isn't that place that you got accepted near Lakewood Ranch?

That's a real nice little area man, if you go to University Parkway, right off of 75, down near Lakewood Ranch Medical Center - you'll see Dick Vitale eating breakfast there all .. the .. time. Every time I've been there, he's always there, he sits outside, right in front where the door is. Lots of good eating joints around there, lots of hot chicks/mommas walking around all around there as well

On the other side of 75 on University Parkway, lots of places to live

Just south of that is Fruitville Road and then Bee Ridge Road - TONS of places to live off of those roads - then the next exit is Clark Road, which is what you take to get to Siesta Key

Ellenton is right up the road, north of Lakewood Ranch not far at all. Sarasota is just south of Lakewood Ranch. Siesta Key isn't that far from there, about 20 mins maybe depending on how fast you drive

IMG Academy isn't that far away either, so you can go chill with those cats and hang with Chris Weinke or Dan Morgan there

Big Daddy Cane

Jacksonville (FL) First Coast High School LB Reggie Northrup is taking an unofficial visit to Miami today.

And, if all goes well, he could be a Hurricane by the end of the day ... or the end of the week.

NICE PICKUP
