Typical.

roachcane77

Nice research SOUP... I don't think O. Vernon will have much hope with the Awards this year though...

Felipe

Sammy Watkins just flipped out for a 33 yard score for Clemson. Could've gotten him, as Miami was his fave for a long time. You know, if the previous coaching staff actually actively recruited anyone.

Sinistercane

I was just a victim of a Hurricane hate crime " Driving With Canes Plate" in land of smiling faces and beautiful places " South Carolina"

canechic

Noles look pretty good....some good receivers with good hands!
:(

AlpharettaCane

Soup - looks like my LOF picks (Vernon, Williams) weren't the greatest.

Ayles was back-up on O (some improvement, huh?)....how about Gaines on D.

Solar - that was too bad, Sid's reaction, I actually kinda like listening to him once every blue moon - probably because we shared views on the old head coach. That's the problem with the Internet; too much of that kindof B.S. - shouldn't be tolerated.

My prediction:
UM 38
UM 24

AlpharettaCane

So Fla up 13 on Notre Dame! Go Bulls!

Just recovered fumbled punt, deep in Irish territory. Late 2nd

canechic

Troy beating Clemson!

Sarasota 'cane

My prediction:
UM 38
UM 24

Spot on AlpharettaCane! With an analysis like that we can't lose!! He He

Go UM!

CC...I think that we agree that ANY sane Canes fan knows we have very little chance, some chance but very little chance, against FSWho this year. Next year or the year after that maybe, but this year, NOT so much.

OK, now for the BAD news: The same Notre Dame team that completely PUNKED Miami last year in the bowl game is losing 16-0 to the USF Bulls at the half.

Ohio_Cane

Rain scheduled to be in College Park, Maryland on Monday night. Heavy dose of LM6 and MJ5 incoming!

Ohio_Cane

Noles look pretty good....some good receivers with good hands!
:(

While I agree with that. Their team as a whole looks pretty mediocre against a bad UL Monroe team. 17-0 at half should be double that if they're as good as they're supposed to be on paper

SCOUTING MARYLAND:

Maryland sophomore quarterback Danny O’Brien - The 2010 ACC Rookie of the Year - was named to the preseason watch lists for the Archie Manning and Davey O’Brien Awards, which are each given annually to the nation’s top quarterback. In 2010, O’Brien enjoyed one of the top seasons by a freshman signal caller in ACC history. The Kernersville, N.C. native ended the year ranked fifth nationally among all freshmen quarterbacks in passing efficiency (134.5) and third in touchdown passes (22). He threw 22 touchdown passes with only 8 interceptions, ranking fourth in the ACC in pass efficiency, sixth in passing yards and seventh in total offense. O’Brien finished 2010 with the sixth-best ACC single season
in passing yards for a freshman and the eighth-best in total offense. The 22 touchdown passes gave him the thirdbest
total as an ACC rookie.

Senior running back Davin Meggett ranks third in the ACC in active career rushing yards. Only Boston College’s Montel
Harris (3,600 yds.) and Florida State’s Jermaine Thomas (1,804 yds.) have gained more on the ground than Meggett. Four freshman top the depth chart for Maryland, including fullback Tyler Cierski, cornerback Jeremiah Johnson, holder Michael Tart and place kicker Justus Pickett.

On Aug. 22 Maryland unveiled its new football uniforms. In all, 16 different jersey and helmet combinations were displayed. The Terps will have plenty of options to choose from this season with jerseys and pants in red, black, white and
gold, along with two helmets.

Miami redshirt sophomore Jared Wheeler will have some bragging rights on the line in Monday’s season-opener. That’s because the backup guard’s younger brother Jake is an offense lineman for the Terrapins.

The brothers teamed up for American Heritage High School in Hollywood, Fla., anchoring the offensive line.

canechic

I don't think the Noles are great just pretty good. I am impressed with the receivers. I hope we beat them! Fingers crossed! I think they are ranked too high some have them in the NC game....... really? That I don't see!

86Cane

Here is where you will find the Miami coaches during the game:

Up in the Box:
WR George McDonald
DB Paul Williams
LB and Special Teams Michael Barrow

On the Sidelines:
Head Coach Al Golden
Defensive Coordinator Mark D’Onofrio
Offensive Coordinator Jedd Fisch
DL Jethro Franklin
RB Terry Richardson
OL Art Kehoe
TE Brennan Carroll

86Cane

When was the last time Miami gave up a punt return for a TD?

2002nemo

SOUP, I'm covered! All is good. THANKS!

Go Canes! Squash them turtles!

UpNorthCane27

Remember kayvon webster? Well that lil punk has a td for usf today fumble return to be exact

360Canes

sinister that's unusual

We got South Carolinians, Aces and Eights, G and his posse, a raft guide from Clemson that all love the U

I get lots of love in S Carolina and Georgia wearing Canes gear, I guess there are Cane haters everywhere tho.

Willie Will in Nashville

The difference between us and FSwho has been the coaching, THATS IT!! Other than that we have the same amount of talent as they do

orange 'n green in the vein

So if you add more Colorado and Utah to the pathetic athletic conference why can't Oregon State beat Sacramento State at home still? Oh that's right, the now pathetic athletic conference 12 still sucks no matter who you add, I forgot.

360Canes

ECU taking care of South Carolina. Maybe Garcia was the guy.

Ohio_Cane

Garcia plays defense? Lol

UMike

Anyone know of any drills to practice a shotgun snap in youth football?

mi@mic@ne

You talking about a team that is out of shape and not prepared to play... LSU d line already winded

UpNorthCane27

Im an up north far left liberal who admires reading about john n robert kennedy and i love me some canesss babyyyyy n hate the irish!!!!

Felipe.

Bright side of the passive recruiting effort of the previous coaching staff:

Bryce Brown's stats: 3 car -2 yards 1 fumble, recovered on KSU's own 1 yard line by Eastern Kentucky. (EKU's winning 7-3 btw)

Total epic fail of aforementioned passive recruiting:

Sammy Watkins stats: 7 rec, 81 yards, 1 td in his first game.

c'est tout.

raizecane

Anybody watching the Florida game? CW is so fat and out of shape, he has to sit on the bench when the Defense is on the field. TV keeps showing him sitting his big arse down........

WindyCane-Forcast1

Watched the contest between the last two teams to beat the Canes last year, ND and USF. Great game by USF. BJ Daniels is very average, but USF has talent and good coaching. USF might win the Big Least.

360Canes

Yea, USF came to play. But ND did shoot themselves in the foot a few times. I liked #7 running the drag and the pass hitting his shoulder pad for a INT. Thought Kelly's head was going to pop. He was mad a fire.

SOUP

Can I just get a beer over here? I don't even like college football anymore. The conferences, the BCS, the scandals, the upsets, the near upsets, the blowouts. How do U make sense of any of this?

canechic

Oregon has mentally fallen apart....they are all still speeding down the highway smoking pot....

mi@mic@ne

Bigger stronger and faster is better then fast... LSU has beat them into submission...lol

canechic

But mental mistakes will kill....turnovers and stupid penalties all on them. Can't beat yourselves!

TJL

There just doesn't seem to be any more defense in college football, its like the arena league

TJL

I did enjoy Brian Kelly losing his mind today!

mi@mic@ne

It looks like LSU dline takes plays off. Those d ends should be in the back field every play.

mi@mic@ne

`This is what the old time Canes used to do... dont come into our house with that finesse stuff.. we will wear you down and in the fourth beat you down...lol
