Tonight at 8 PM on ESPN the entire Nation will be watching as your University of Miami Hurricanes take on the Virginia Cavaliers at Sun Life Stadium in another Atlantic Coast Conference game that will help determine the ACC Champion.
Miami enters the game on a roll after beating North Carolina on the road at Chapel Hill and then Georgia Tech at home the following week for back to back ACC wins that makes even the doubters like Canechic and OGV happy enough to smile even if just for a brief moment.
The confident and optimistic UM fans are already solidly behind their new charismatic and articulate leader and the obviously improving Miami football team. The Hurricane's defensive performance against Georgia Tech had even the most pessimistic UM fans drunk with positive thoughts.
The doubters however are NOT yet completely convinced or satisfied with the 2011 Hurricanes and will not rest easy until when or if Miami beats Virginia tonight on national TV. And who can really blame them?
Hurricane fans have been down this road before several times over the last few seasons and are now holding their cards and their emotions close to the vest after being burned emotionally in the past.
In fact, if this were a game of Texas hold 'em, some fans would almost certainly fold before going "all in" for the Hurricanes.
This time there is no doubt that some of the more conservative members of the UM faithful are being cautious before falling head over heels for Al Golden and the 2011 version of the Miami football team.
There are simply two possible outcomes to Thursday night's ACC contest:
1. After Miami beats Virginia tonight by the score of 34-20 at Sun Life Stadium there will be little room left on the bandwagon for Hurricane fans to get on board the love train that has already formed around Al Golden and the Hurricane football program.
2. If Hurricanes lose to the Cavaliers 27-24 then UM fans will once again begin to doubt and criticize their coaches, players and program heading forward and into the remaining four games of the season.
We will be on hand to personally witness the game and the outcome of the event as it unfolds.
We wish you could be there with us too.
seriously?

NCAA board of directors will give conferences the option of adding $2,000 in spending money as part of athletic scholarships. NCAA rules schools will also be able to decide whether to award scholarships for multiple years.

Ohio-They are opening a can of worms..SEC schools will be giving fistfuls of cash and only accounting for 2K, you watch they will be living like they are making 100K and show only 2K on paper.

After Shapiro's book keeper got arrested and his books were proved to be forged and frauds. I think we will get a 1 year bowl ban and a few schollys at most. If not, they will have to hammer OHIO ST and they would lose WAY to much money if they do that . I want us to hook up Golden with a big contract and a BIG BUYOUT, so that Penn st cant swoop in when we start winning

Dallas 70's tonight! Should be nice! Cold front moving into FL tomorrow!
Posted by: Canechic | October 27, 2011 at 06:47 PM
canechic, they should be, Harris is a better player at the most important position on the field than anybody the Indians can field right now. If the defense gets some better calls dialed in from the sideline and line play with Vernon rounding into form, UM has the talent to stand in toe to toe on the road and come away with a win.
Since SOUP is probably sloshed right now, I guess this link will have to do for a prediction since I don't think comments here have embedding options enabled;

OGV I thought you were going to the game?
Posted by: Canechic | October 27, 2011 at 07:01 PM
No, I am going to see Guns N Roses in Orlando Friday and don't want to have to make a Miami to there drive hungover like a night-train so I'm watching this one at a sports bar and cutting my road time to a quarter of what it would have been instead for Friday. They will have to win without me in attendance this week, but 2001's football team is there to make up for it so they should be fine.

Posted by: jack | October 27, 2011 at 07:58 PM
yes canechic, they still tour and sell the arenas out, but it's Axl Rose fronting a bunch of guys he hired to replace the original band though.
Fear the Tie, sounds too much like fear the tie-dye to me for some reason.

D'No, this is known as a two dimensional offense, your inability to stop it is what is going to require your dismissal at the end of the year.

Two drives, two 2nd and 2's. NO play action bombs and zero 3rd down conversions. Has UM decided not to test these guys deep?

Posted by: sebas13 | October 27, 2011 at 08:29 PM
It looks like the game plan is not to let their qb stand back with all kinds of time and throw the ball.
this is going to be a tough game..

Coming out way 2 flat, like they don't care. Opening series they walked out like...whateva!!

This OC has D'No's tendencies scoped. It's going to be a long night as the OL of UVA starts to wear on the thin UM DL.
