This is cool!!! Go Canes!!!

Oops sorry thought that was from today!!!

Miami is a 14 point favorite at home. The Canes will let the college football world know that Golden has them on the right track.

Thanks SG.

Sarasota 'cane

One last thought about the game yesterday. The new stadium announcer sucks! Not sure what happened to the old guy, but the cry for "...another Miami Hurricane....1st Down!" just doesn't have the same excitement level that it did as recently as the OSU game. Just my 2 cents.

Good night Legion!!

Go 'canes!

Question asked to Ochocinco: Who do U hate seeing line up across from U the most?

Answer: Sean Taylor. Gave me 3 concussions in a 2 year span

I'm jus sayin...

Al Golden talkin wit da skreetz:

Oops, did I say too much?

Sarasota, Nicole said he was awful!!

Haha da skreetz is Heather Dinich? :)

Sarasota by the way the school fired him. Rumors say Golden had something to do with it, not sure how credible the rumor is but that is what I heard (does not sit well with me).

Al Golden said "doesn't look good" for Jon Feliciano playing Thursday. Seantrel Henderson and Malcolm Bunche competing for No. 1 job at RT.

Posted by: Ohio_Cane | October 23, 2011 at 05:09 PM

When he walked off the field and to the locker room he was limping BADLY. Not sure if it was a knee or ankle but it did not look good.

Any word on Feliciano or McGee?

Feliciano doesn’t look good right now for this game. Of course it’s a short week but we’ll know more tomorrow. I don’t anticipate there being anybody else that’s out. Mcgee would be probable until we see him on the practice field.

We have a lot other guys, to be honest it’s still too early, we have to see how they react tomorrow. Our meeting is after this. It’s hard to gauge where they’re at.

Micanor Regis, has he learned his lesson for lack of a better way of putting it?

I hope so because it’s zero tolerance, I’m not putting up with that and we don’t want that on our football program. Certainly he paid a price. It’s his senior year. He lost a whole game. And instead of being at the stadium with his teammates he was doing community service. He filled his end of the bargain so now its on to reinstatement and then getting back to competing for a job. The bad news for Micanor is that Darius Smith played his best game of the year so he has his hands full in terms of a short week competing for a starting job. (Note that Smith is the new starter at left defensive tackle on the depth chart just released).

UM vs GT game hi-lites:

Jimmy Graham feature from ESPN:

Papa Cane - It looks like Duke Johnson will not visit other schools. 100% Cane.

Recruiting Update: Chances of going to UM for Norland players - Duke (100%), Brown (50%), Flowers (100%), Powell (60%). My opinion.

Congratulations to UM LB Sean Spence: Averaging 10.8 tackles/game for the season; add 3 sacks and 1 forced fumble. Great season

Hurricane Sports - Untold Story: 2010 Canes in penalties per game #117 (8.23 p/g). 2011 Canes in penalties per game #43 – 5.43 (p/g) +74

Even Better Untold Story: NCAA Penalty Yards Rankings: UM in 2011 - #16 – 39.3 yds/g . UM in 2010 - #113 – 68.7 yds/g = +97 improvement!

Parking lot info for Thursday, per Chris Freet: RV Lots at 2 p.m. Green Tailgating Lots at 3 p.m. All Lots open by 4 p.m.

ACC power Rankings from Da Skreetz, I mean Heather Dinich at ESPN:

3. Miami (4-3, 2-2; LW: No. 4) -- With their upset win over Georgia Tech on Saturday, the Hurricanes evened the playing field in the Coastal Division race and joined a pack of two-loss teams now chasing Virginia Tech. The Canes have a short week to prepare for a Thursday night game against a completely different team in Virginia.

9. Virginia (4-3, 1-2; LW: No. 8) -- The Cavaliers were unable to build any momentum from their upset win over Georgia Tech and lost at home to NC State. It’s not going to get any easier this week with a Thursday night trip to Miami. The Canes have put together back-to-back wins and now have a roster free of suspensions.

All Lots open by 4 p.m.

I'll be there at 4 PM! Meeting in the lobby at The Hampton Inn in Plantation between 3-3:30 to set up the convoy.

1. The Hurricane defense held the nation’s second-ranked rushing attack to only 134 yards on the ground. That total was more than 200 yards below Georgia Tech’s average coming into the contest.

2. Miami’s leading tackler Sean Spence once again led the Canes with 10 takedowns on Saturday against Georgia Tech, six of them solo and one for a loss. The Miami native ranks 10th nationally in tackles per game
and seventh in tackles for loss. Spence has twice been named the ACC Linebacker of the Week this season and on three occasions has been recognized as the College Football Performance Awards Honorable Mention
Linebacker of the Week. On the year, Spence has tallied 65 tackles, 35 of those solo.

3. Junior wide receiver Tommy Streeter continues to be a lightening rod for the Miami offense. The Miami native ranks fifth nationally with a 20.4 yards per reception average. Of Streeters 21 receptions on the season, nine have gone for 25-yards or more, including catches of 48 and 32 yards against Georgia Tech. The 6-5 speedster
also has five TD receptions on the season, leading the team.

SaveUMFootball Papa Cane
I see the Thursday night UVA game as a "trap game". Short week, tired team, some injuries. Careful, UVA is below average but beat GTech.

I agree! Don't think UVA will be as easy to handle than GT...You have to play great from start to finish...Let's go Canes!!!

Kansas St ranked #8 now. Impressive.

1. Yo playah WHAAAAAT!!!! lol how da hell am I waking up to a maxed out email sayin someone sayin they think im that fat fudge The Beast lol. Yo playah dat sh!$ low lol.

2. One of my boiz and a few others hit me up bout da Space and you peeps were on da up. You boiz are straight. Bout da only thing dat gets me is dat fools dont listen when you put out what I/we hit ya with, then fools actin like they aint know once dat ballah breaks out. How da hell fools aint listening to you on dat sh!$ lol.

3. A quick hit, Smiley strugglin with dat turf toe. Trel aint ready for a full game yet and Al aint bout to push it with da way he is playin solid. If needed more Trel will go bout 70% of game. Ite bruh hit you up with more later. If missed somethin just hit me back.

Lamar Miller is second in the Atlantic Coast Conference with 114.1 rushing yards per game, ranking 14th nationally.

Through the first four games of the season, Miller was the only back in America with a rush of 40-yards or more in every game. He did not extend that streak at Virginia Tech, but did have runs of 37 and 30 yards.

Miller is the first Cane to open the season with five-straight 100-yard rushing games. Willis McGahee started the 2002 season with 100-plus in four of the first five games.

The last time a Cane recorded five-straight 100-yard rushing games was Clinton Portis in 2001.

Miller joins former Cane Tyrone Moss (2003-06) with seven career 100-yard rushing games. Edgerrin James (1995-98) is the all-time leader with 15 games of 100 or more yards on the ground.

J12 gets it: Miami senior quarterback Jacory Harris has been lights out so far in October. In three games, Harris is 53-of-91 passing for 849 yards with eight touchdowns and only one interception.

Canes senior Sean Spence named ACC linebacker of the week for the third consecutive week

NCAA weighing $2,000 payments to student athletes:

"WASHINGTON (AP)—NCAA President Mark Emmert says he supports a proposal to allow conferences to increase grants to student athletes by $2,000, “to more closely approach” the full cost of attending college, beyond the athletic scholarships athletes receive for tuition, fees, room, board and books.

Emmert told the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics on Monday that the proposal will be finalized this week and he’ll ask the NCAA Division I Board of Directors to support it. He noted that student athletes have limited opportunities to work outside the classroom and playing fields, and that the current model of athletic scholarship hasn’t changed for 40 years.

Emmert says he’ll also ask the board to allow colleges and universities to provide multiyear grants, instead of year-to-year scholarships.

“This week, I’ll be asking the board to support a proposal to allow conferences—not mandate anyone, but allow conferences, not individual institutions—to increase the value of an athletic grant in aid to more closely approach the full cost of attendance,” Emmert said.

“We are going to create a model that would allow—probably … up to $2,000 in addition to” tuition, fees, room and board, books and supplies."

Manny - Al Golden on celebration injury to RT Feliciano: "We should have a no air policy for our offensive linemen."

I'm with Manny on this one. And who knew that big #70 could even get "air" in the first place? LOL

The Plug is now down to a comfortable 330 pounds from the 365 lbs he arrived at UM. Regis is gonna have a HARD time winning his job back. Can U say:

C O M P E T I T I O N?

Manny - Al Golden with dig at Dolphins' Gator Day: "I'm glad we're honoring the right team Thursday night [2001 UM title team]."

There IT is right there!!

Gorten - Injured #UM CB Brandon McGee (shoulder) should be fine for Thursday's game vs. Virginia, Coach Al Golden said
