It's worth noting, as good as Greg was at UM, and for my money he's easily one of the top few Coker era signings at both college and the pro level, their brother who was a QB failed to pan out at both ND and UVA. Still, big get for Golden, wonder what this says for the baseball/football prospect from Tampa who committed to play QB, Thompson I guess his name is?

LB

Papa states that an elite WR will follow.

CEO

LB..I'll take WR Jordan Cunningham or WR Richard Benjamin.

Who U got?

Olsen listed as 6-3 and 189

Olsen listed as 6-2 and 195

LB

I thought the same thing, leaning towards Cunningham. Maybe a Travis Johnson.

If I had to bet, I'd say Cunningham, though.

UMike

You know whats funny...everyone knows that the star system is rated by the amount/quality of the offers a player has...but it looks like that don't count if a player commits to Miami early lol..Keith Bryant has 29 offers according to Rivals and those include Miami, Auburn, Florida,, FSU, UGA, LSU, OSU, Oklahoma, USC and more. If he was not committed, he would be a 4-star

CEO

UMike...don't sweat the small stuff with the star rating system. As U indicated it is only slightly helpful and definitely flawed.

LB...Da Skreetz LOVES him some JC.

I'm jus sayin.

David Thompson is from Miami Westminster Chrisitan

As far as I know, there are no QB prospects here in Tampa other than Chase Litton for the Canes

... and he needs to do some work. Like the kid, but the training table/weight room need to be his best friends

Nice to have a QB with a brain and who also isn't from the state. Kosar, Testaverde, Kelly, Walsh, Dorsey, Torretta, etc.

So far, none of the QBs at Miami who are from the state have been up to par with Erickson

Instead Olsen will take the time to work on some more material for his stand up comedy routine about why any HS player in his right mind would CHOOSE to go to the arm pit of Florida also known as Gainesville.

In the last few months 46 more NCAA after the scandalat Ohio State...Congrats to Urban Cryer....The report comes on the heels of Meyer upsetting many Big Ten coaches over his aggressive recruiting tactics. Meyer has repeatedly has defended some of his actions as not violating NCAA rules.

46 more NCAA violations at Ohio State...

### Though a Yahoo story suggested the Big 12 – which has more a lucrative TV deal than the Atlantic Coast Conference – might pursue FSU and UM, two UM Board of Trustee members said it hasn’t been discussed inside UM and they could not envision Miami being interested. One pointed out UM would need to pay more than $15 million in ACC exit fees even if it wanted to move.

LB

46? Good grief.

I don't see UM jumping. FSU maybe.

Olsen, Dobard, Cunningham?

That's some nice firepower. I'd like to see another TE.

UGoCanes2

The quarterback lineup is coming together nicely.... the more prospects that learn the system the better and more varied choices that can be made ... re quarterbacks.

Now the rest of the story is the mix of other players that will declare before the NCAA does their bidding..

I will say that nothing seems to be slowing down the Golden Express..

Focus... straight ahead.. and commit to excellence with hard work.. Golden ideals.
Go 'Canes.

As ACC commissioner John Swofford deftly put it last August, it’s time for the NCAA to begin addressing the felons as opposed to the jaywalkers, and get ourselves out of this maze of rules that are unenforceable.

TheWhat

Some rumors saying Clemson to big 12 agreed in principal. Don't know if it's true but if it is I think FSU is out as well sooner rather than later. Wonder what Miami and VT will do if that happens?

GO NAVY!

Scout has Jayron Kearse as a OLB. Rivals has him as a ATH. Is that really what The U will use him as though, an OLB? He looks like he could be a Dwayne Jarrett type to me. Too lean and tall to play OLB. What gives? Anyone know?

The Dude

Also, it seems to me like Coach is cherry picking this class. It seems like we arent taking any chances on getting burned. Maybe Collins? Still early, but off to a great start. Doesnt feel like we are gonna have to be hoping and wishing for some guys this year. We will see.

The Dude

I know the ACC hasnt been good for the last 5-6-7 years or whatever, but it has alot of potential. FSU would be bailing on what is a strong academic, basketball, baseball and potentially great football conference. By the way, do the Noles really want to play Oklahoma again any time soon? Miami and FSU will be national players again I would think. Just a matter of time. VTech, GTech and Clemson are good squads, 10 win teams. Then you get a handful of teams that put together good teams every few years or so. ACC commish better be making sure this thing holds together. ACC is a good conference in alot of regards.

Personally, I would be SHOCKED if Kearse keeps his commitment to Miami.

CEO

June 6 #ESPN150 2nd release. Over 1,100 prospects now done. Shaking things up. Expect exits, entries & reshuffling.

June 7 class ranks out.

Can't wait to see this!

CEO

Umike...why do U say that about Kearse?

CEO

North Carolina, North Carolina State and Wake Forest will compete in the same bracket of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament this week.

That means one of those baseball teams — or Miami, which is also in the bracket — will advance to next Sunday’s championship game at NewBridge Bank Park in Greensboro.

Top-seeded Florida State, Virginia, Clemson and Georgia Tech are in the other four-team bracket.

Teams will compete in pool play Wednesday through Saturday to determine the teams for the title game.

Regular-season play for teams in the conference ended Saturday.

North Carolina is the Coastal Division champion, while Florida State won the Atlantic Division.

Under the pool-play format, each team will play one game against each of the other three opponents in its division. Specific game times will be released today.

UMike

CEO...just got a vibe..especially since recently he said he was "80% committed"...

TonyCane

Why would any major program want to join the Big 12 unless there was more even revenue sharing? The Big 12 is weighted towards Texas, Texas, Texas, and Oklahoma, in that order. Why would a top end program that is running a deficit want to do this?

j.w.

I don't know much about Kearse's personality, but you really think he would bail on us, Umike? Hope Golden can keep him.
Baseball team has a decent draw- they can play with anyone on their side of the bracket. Are we going to get the error-prone, lack of situational hitting Canes or the guys that take advantage of opportunities given to them? Need a good showing to avoid another trip to Gainesville.

UMike

j.w.....I have no insider info here, just a feeling. His from the Fort Myers area where the Canes have been hit or miss. He has a lot of other schools coming on strong and out of the blue says he is "80 percent committed". I know these young kids dont know a thing about commitment (although I think parents should help with that)..it just seems odd. I do like Goldens closing ability an hope I am wrong

The Dude

Is FSU looking to bail because the ACC contract isnt that good? They are 1 of the 2 biggest reasons why it isnt. Miami and FSU are supposed to be top 5 programs every year. If they and Miami had been playing in BCS National Championships, they would get more money.

2002nemo

The CANES ain't going anywhere . . . not with (potentially major) NCAA sanctions loomimg.

mi@mic@ne

The nba officials should be ashamed of themselves. ThroughOUT this series they have let Indiana maul wade and james. Every shot that wade takes in the paint is contested with a shove. Its a wonder that they arent injured like Bosh... Cheating so we wont dominate underneath.. CHEATS!!!

mi@mic@ne

You talk about a team with players that dont have the talent and try to compensate for rough play ...Indiana is like a bull in a china shop ...come on man up!.. call the game even...

TheWhat

The refs will officiate better in Miami. They always give the home team the calls. Not defending them cause that is BS but that's how the nba is unfortunately. Glad the heat pulled the win out. If they can get through this series and get bosh back for the next series they will go to the finals. But the sixers or celtics will use this rough play blue print to play the same way. Hoping the heat can over come the bosh injury and the pacers rough play.

CEO

Can U feel the HEAT!

The Miami Heat save there season with a BIG road win over Indiana.

Willie Will in Nashville

Pacers ain't playing rough they just playing harder

CEO

I don't know if any of U are planning a trip to Central FL anytime soon but if U have YOUNG kids then the place to go is Legoland in Winter Haven.

Tons of stuff for kids 10 and under to do, beautiful botanical gardens area, a water ski show and they also just opened a Water Park for the Summer at LL that kids and their parents will both enjoy to cool off.

I went today just to check it out with the wifey (AAA discount) and we had a fun day on an absolutely GORGEOUS Central FL Spring day.

CEO

Pacers ain't playing rough they just playing harder

Posted by: Willie Will in Nashville | May 20, 2012 at 07:28 PM

Disagree, just different styles of play.

The Pacers are trying to play like the old bad boy Pistons and the Heat are more like old Chicago or LA. Pacers wanna bump and grind while the Heat wants to run the open floor to let their superior athleticism rule the day.

CaneRock

I think Haslem was key in the win today, He provided the Heat a mid-range game that's been missing since Bosh went down...

CEO

Like any OTHER Internet medium I think Twitter has run its course.

Now SOME people are using it as their TEXT messgaing service and it sucks.

CEO

I think Haslem was key in the win today.

NO DOUBT.

4-Real

Itu dudes saying we gonna get hammered by NCAA. Your thoughts CEO?

TonyCane

Without giving an SMU-style punishment, what is literally the worst that the NCAA could do? I was thinking about it and perhaps the most stringent (perhaps absurd - hopefully) might be something like:

5 Year Probation, during which:

1) Only 15 scholarships can be offered per season, limiting Miami to a maximum of 60 players

2) No television for three years

3) No bowl appearances for five years

4) Nulification of all victories during the time of violations

5) Forfeiture of all bowl money received during the time of violation

4-Real

Damn Tony!!! It can't no worse than that!!!
