University of Miami Director of Athletics Shawn Eichorst announced on Wednesday that Vincent "Vinny" Scavo has been named Head Athletic Trainer.
Scavo rejoined the Hurricanes athletic department in 2011 after working as the Director of Sports Medicine Services and Head Athletic Trainer at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine since 2008.
With the division serving as the official sports medicine provider for the Hurricanes, Scavo had already worked closely with the team doctors and student-athletes.
Scavo has extensive experience as an athletic trainer at the professional, college and high school levels, previously serving as Miami's baseball athletic trainer from 1984-87, including during the Hurricanes' 1985 National Championship season.
Scavo worked with both the New York Yankees (1981-83) and Florida Marlins (1992-96) organizations, earning Minor League Athletic Trainer of the Year honors by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainer Society and Florida State League Class A Baseball Athletic Trainer of the Year in 1994.
After two years as the Rehabilitation Coordinator for the Marlins' minor and major league teams (1994-96), he was named Director of Sports Medicine at Doctor’s Hospital and then served as the Head Athletic Trainer at several South Florida high schools for 13 years, working at Miami Southridge (1996-2001), Chaminade-Madonna (2001-06) and Coral Gables (2006-08).
Over that time, he developed the curriculum for the Miami-Dade County Public Schools' Coaches Certification Course and the MDCPS Injury Reporting System. In 2006, Scavo was named Florida's High School Athletic Trainer of the Year.
That's my first FIRST!

1. Are U gonna cry about the refs EVERYtime Miami loses to Anybody? Bcuz frm anyone elses eyes LeBron already gets one more step than anybody else on the floor and he is bigger than anyone sticking him so how hard is it to foul a guy who is 6'8 270?
2. OKC is flatout a better TEAM than Miami OKC is built to be a team while Miami is built to be a show....LeBron doesnt show up in 4th quarter games and he dishes to Haslem of all ppl whn the chips are down tht be like MJ kickn the ball to Bill Wennington in the 4th yea not gon happen...
3. Texascane I didnt knw you lived in OKC way 2 go man me too this place looks light years different now tht the team is taking flight (shameless plug) ppl looking to open businesses in a place with less to no competition this is the place....

Papa Cane - I know some folks disagree but IMO there's a 60/40 chance that UM commitment TE Jeremy Kerr ends up an OL down the road. Eric Winston v2.

Nobody disagrees with that, I thought that was OBVIOUS. He is a blocking TE/OL.

That's what I was thinking when I read/posted it, but just passing along his info.
I think I even said that to one blogger the other day when they said something about him only having 3 catches for 64 yds or something.
I watched his film and it looks like he is blocking 95% of the time, but doing a GREAT job of it. Didn't see his man/men make the tackle once.

Why not recruit a true O- lineman instead of experimenting? But the way Sway been putting weight on these boyz it just might work.

4real- almost everyone recruits TE's that they convert into OT's, their athleticism helps them their.

That means they are projecting 5-6 losses. I don't buy it. Golden will do a lot better than that.

2. Yo CEO you aint know how this boi rolls lol? I aint stealin nothin, I just roll up tell people im takin it and TAKE it lol. That aint stealin, thats called Miami Thug n. Now get that azz on that bloggers bus and enjoy the ride lol.
3. Yah the DTs can and wiil be a force. Might go dominate IF the depth keeps straight. Thats right at Luther. He goin to stay in focus mode or does he go back to goin HAM on fried cheese platters.
4. So fans be givin dap to DJ8 and others for makin this class great. Cmon now pimps alot of credit goes to Coach Will at UF. Him gettin tossed from cribs and parents not acceptin his calls helped just a little lol.
5. Bout the LBs that inked somewhere else, lets bust it down. It aint goin to HURTT Miami as it will HURTT Lville in a few years.
6. I always say this and mentioned this to CEO on a few occasions, so for goons new to the way. DO NOT TRUST J'VILLE BALLAHS, THEY PUNK AZZ B!TCHES. SOFTAZZ PUNKS WANT TO BE 305 BUT AINT.

loL, 86, If I bet I probably would. :) I can't be objective in sports so I just view the lines for entertainmnent purposes.
Having said that, I'm not expecting a lot of wins this year. I think we'll be a better team, just not sure that translates to a lot more wins. I'll predict 7-5 and hope to be pleasantly surprised.
