I agree with you on the other wins!! 7-5 at best 6-6 most likely as long as this team continues to grow!
Posted by: Jack | September 15, 2012 at 05:59 PM
BEER, I can see his point though, it all depends on what kind of performance the staff can coach out of the team on any given week and the scheme deployed. Noticed a lot more press being played on the corners today but then again, that competition talent level wasn't top flight so that obviously helped.
ND is about to get put through a wood chipper tonight so they're about to get the blue print for winning that game for the outright upset. Just got to keep the three headed monster healthy at RB and churn out 150+ ground yards and all those can be wins with a positive turnover ratio.

In my opinion, 6 wins looks to be acheiveable, hopefully there are no issues that prevent us from hitting that goal. We aren't going to beat FSU, but we could steal some wins away from other teams. The whole team is young and just not geling right now. Morris couldn't hit any open targets today, if he did the core would have probably been +21. Duke brings back memories of Edge, McGahee, Moss. He will be an AA before he leaves. The O-Line is only going to get better and the receivers are good. The whole scheme on O needs to be more aggressive. The D will get there, the kids just need to grow and get stronger. The problem is, we really don't have time for those excuses. We really need to start winning games. BC was a good first win, KS was a terrible loss, and BCC was expected. I didn't think we would only score 38 but Morris needs to get his head right or get replaced.
As for Lville, please remember if all the Miami scandal stuff about paying recruits is true, that would be true for all those kids in the ville(just speculation). Please also remember that we have had very poor coaching and recruiting the past 8 years. Golden is really the first tru HC we have had since Butch. Yeah we may see some coodinator changes (i doubt it) but as lon as Al stays he will be able to build that foundation. Until we have consistency with our coaches we aren't going to be good. Until we can continue to recruit solid players we aren't going to be good. Only time will tell.

Co, I heard that tool Reece Davis today talking about "the artist formerly known as the U". He could not pass as a mediocre game show host. Between he and Mark May, I don't know, I see their mouths move, yet.....nothing

Al said something about some of the things not showing up in practice, just game day (false starts I think).
That's what scares me the most, that some of these guys are practice powerhouses that might be pissing themselves come game day. Exact opposite attitude we're looking for. If true, hope they grow out of it. See it as an opportunity to re-define the U, not as an on-your-heels-have-to-defend-the-U mentality. That'll get you clocked every time.
Posted by: Felipe | September 15, 2012 at 07:29 PM
Sad thing is that even without sanctions, the earliest that we will get close to 9 wins is 2014. It will take that long to get quality depth reinserted back into the lineup.
Not liking the fact that we only have 11 kids committed at this point. Reminds me of Shannon's last year (although that number dwindled as the season went on).
Posted by: TonyCane | September 15, 2012 at 07:38 PM
Tony-I think they only have 15-16 schollys available for next year so 11 commits at this point is great

Maybe the KSU game was one of those games where 1 team plays the best they can, while the other plays their absolute worst. Shrugging
Also KSU could be full of themselves. It still means something to beat the U. Everyone still brings their A game against us... Ijs
