Teddy Bridgwater > Steven Morris
Posted by: tjl3909 | September 15, 2012 at 03:51 PM
& for u naysayers. Butch would come back if Diana Devito got her saggy flat azz off of her shoulders, put da benjamins on da table & said these simple words. "Da U needs U"...
Posted by: CoCane | September 15, 2012 at 03:51 PM
Shouldn't have asked that question. No Coker arguments plz.
Posted by: Felipe | September 15, 2012 at 03:53 PM
Kirk herbstreet called it 6 wins for this young team would be about right!
I still expect 7 to 8
Posted by: Jack | September 15, 2012 at 03:56 PM
We need a real coach. Problem is until we get the sanctions, nobody will want to come. Maybe Butch, but he will never be hired because of
1)the way he left.
2)the trouble in UNC.
3)shalala doesnt care.
Too bad. Butch did not only assembled one of the best college football teams ever, he assembled a grrreat coacing staff. Just look at where the are today. He really coached up players.
Posted by: Al | September 15, 2012 at 03:58 PM
The administration will never like a winning coach. A winner has unjustifiable, undeniable swag. That means the football team would be bigger than them on campus. Those self serving azzholes are happy the team is babbage. They can all eat my azz with some chop sticks & soy sauce. I'LL GO BLACK DYNAMITE ON DEM MUTHA FUKKAZ!!!
Posted by: CoCane | September 15, 2012 at 04:01 PM
Exactly felipe!
I been saying this my boy Coke!
This underachievment is entrenched in our culture now.
They think that we can't have good academics and successful sports teams at the "same damn time".
Not true, we can have both. Thats some real corporate type sh*%!
Posted by: Zakkee | September 15, 2012 at 04:08 PM
GT loss
NCS win
ND loss
UNC win
FSU big loss
VT loss
UV win
Usf win
Duke win
If this happens we wind up 7-5 that would be huge for this young team. Give Golden his time. WE ARE LUCKY HE DID NOT LEAVE WHEN THE SHIPIRO BS HAPPENED!!! Com on man!
Posted by: Jack | September 15, 2012 at 04:09 PM
Very true Al! One thing that Butch does better than anyone but its routinely overlooked is the hiring of his coaching staff.
His last staff at UNC was very smart, competent, and successful at developing their 2 and 3 star talent. Remember the draft his last year?
Posted by: Zakkee | September 15, 2012 at 04:14 PM
We really need Perryman back for GT...
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | September 15, 2012 at 04:21 PM
Duke! Duke! Duke!
Posted by: Jack | September 15, 2012 at 04:31 PM
Ohio - even with Perryman we are in big trouble against GT.
Posted by: Jack | September 15, 2012 at 04:32 PM
Fischs play calling would kf looked genius with a qb who could hit the side of a barn.
Posted by: Dan | September 15, 2012 at 04:34 PM
@millertime_6: I see them boys from Miami doing work for Louisville..
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | September 15, 2012 at 04:34 PM
just walked in from oil change, tire rotation, bbq lunch, kayak shop,
Hope I didn't miss the game of the century.
Did we decimate the BCC in every phase of the game?
Is Bridgewater blasting UNC as OGV and I suspected?
Posted by: solarcane | September 15, 2012 at 04:41 PM
I actually expect D'No to muster up a decent effort next week but giving up over 200 yards rushing against this level of competition isn't confidence building. VT being back will help, hopefully Perryman's ankle isn't too gimpy to go at an effective level and the key will be winning the turnover battle, getting a fast start on offense and getting that all important 10-14 point lead so you can then trade TD's for GT for field goals as they try to trade scores to regain the lead and kill the clock on themselves since gaining four points like that takes 10 or more minutes for them.

Charlie Strong > Al Golden
Posted by: 4-Real | September 15, 2012 at 04:50 PM
solar, you really were out of the loop here during your sabbatical weren't you? You didn't get the memo after Golden was hired that UM didn't need Bridgewater because he was just like Jacory Harris and from the same high school and everything? After all, if you follow the 2nd best passer in school history and are more athletic, you'll obviously suck picking up where he left off in college too or some other ridiculous false distributive property logic like that was the argument.
22-0, 2nd quarter for Harris' successor at MNW.
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | September 15, 2012 at 04:52 PM
Four more wins, and we can declare that we will skip our second bowl. Should knock the NCAA ruling down to 1 year bowl ban.
Posted by: TonyCane | September 15, 2012 at 04:59 PM
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | September 15, 2012 at 04:52 PM
Bridgewater didnt want to come anymore because of the way the fans turned on Jacory, thats how it is. Thats how it is . Its only 3 games but remember Jacory started out gang busters in 09 until teams started figuring him out so lets see how TB does. We are in good shape at QB with Olsen coming in regardless
Posted by: Jiggafras | September 15, 2012 at 05:01 PM
Bro you can not tell me strong is better than Golden, not yet!! Al Golden had to deal with the biggest scandal in college football last season. This team is full of freshman, period! Give Golden a little time. We are yet to get handed our sanctions and that may set us back another year. Com on man
Posted by: Jack | September 15, 2012 at 05:03 PM
This is the end result of........
3. $ 55 camps & recruits 4 the sake of building bridges / mending fences in the hood instead of goin out with hat-in-hand recruiting some real ballerz instead of Corey King , Thurston whatever, Hunter wells etc..
2. Bogus depth charts & reverse Sigh-cology instead of true coaching.
1. Hiring a dude from temple in the 1st place.
Posted by: 4-Real | September 15, 2012 at 05:03 PM
UNC NO BUTCH, NO GOOD!
Posted by: Jack | September 15, 2012 at 05:07 PM
Jack, the Penn State Scandal happened last year. I'm just sayin....
Posted by: BEERicane | September 15, 2012 at 05:08 PM
Jack, pedo-state was the biggest college football scandal last year.
Rat face is small beans throwing a little person hissy-fit in prison because the NCAA isn't taking him at his word right now.
Excuses, excuses anyway you slice it.
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | September 15, 2012 at 05:08 PM
Great minds BEER . . .
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | September 15, 2012 at 05:08 PM
Jack, Charlie Strong got 2 rings as dc @ uf remember? USC is already on probation remember? Bridgewater was a 5 star remember? Golden had a losing record @ temple remember? Our basketball coach is 80 years old remember? Lol
Posted by: 4-Real | September 15, 2012 at 05:10 PM
When watching these SEC games, makes think at least we aren't coached by John L Smith or Gene Chizik
Posted by: BEERicane | September 15, 2012 at 05:11 PM
Sandusky scandal happened in Nov. Miami had already been put through 3 months on Bad press. Al Golden leaves we are screwed for sure, right??
Posted by: Jack | September 15, 2012 at 05:11 PM
Golden isn't going anywhere. The dude can recruit, that's for sure. Just need to invest the $$ in solid coordinators (on D side for sure, jury still out in Fisch)
Posted by: BEERicane | September 15, 2012 at 05:14 PM
Louisville has Hurtt recruiting south fl. He brought Brigwater with him, $$ lol
Posted by: Jack | September 15, 2012 at 05:15 PM
Bridgewater hitting 80+%
good to know Arthur Brown and Teddy were too scared to compete for time at the U so they settled for starting on ranked teams instead of swaggering around on the 42 ranked team in the nation like winners do.
Posted by: solarcane | September 15, 2012 at 05:17 PM
We are ranked 42? We have to be the most overrated team in the nation
Posted by: BEERicane | September 15, 2012 at 05:20 PM
4real, are you serious.. ?! Coach golden is amazing. He was pretty much the only coach that looked at the longer picture and saw that he could build this team up and get Miami back in that national picture.
The defense looked better but missed tackles and sacks . The loss of Perryman is going to hurt next week.
Offense mainly Morris looked very horrible .. Duze was amazing Miami should use him Reggie bush at USC in space..where's #25¿
Posted by: Q | September 15, 2012 at 05:21 PM
beeri lmao,
I think that's where we will be on Monday but i'm a bit optimistic I admit.
Posted by: solarcane | September 15, 2012 at 05:22 PM
Beer - I hope Golden stays! He seems like a young up and coming coach. He will give coach D another year, hard to evaluate your coordinator when most of his players are so freaking young! Let's see how this team grows this year.
I did not realize just how young this team is. We are starting all over. Just like 2008, now let's see what Al does over the next 3 years. Shannon changed coordinators and that did not work. Continuity is a good thing for a young team.
Posted by: Jack | September 15, 2012 at 05:22 PM

Duke may be the best offensive player at UM in like 5 to 10 years! We will see....
Posted by: Jack | September 15, 2012 at 05:25 PM
Other than the W and some experience this game doesn't count as much.
We'll see how good/bad we are starting next week.
5-7 or 6-6 still my guess for the season.
Can't see many more than that.
For sure, Duke is a joy to watch!
Posted by: Account Deleted | September 15, 2012 at 05:26 PM
If Duke ever develops the ability to catch the ball reliably, he will be the best offensive player at UM ever.

Posted by: Account Deleted | September 15, 2012 at 05:38 PM
Yahoo pouring it on!!! Gotta artcicle poking fun about Miami's attendance. Expect ESPN & all the major networks 2 do the same. Nationwide conspiracy 2 bury the U once & 4 all & everybody affiliated with Miami is actually cool with it, from the administration to the alumni & fans. Why else would u make excuse after excuse 2 justify this bullshit!!? Don't understand how everybody claims 2 have so much love 4 a guy whom...
A. Has accomplished absolutely nuthin!
B. Was never heard of prior 2 bn hired at Miami.

Posted by: Jack | September 15, 2012 at 05:41 PM
4-real - noon game against Bethune off of a ass woopin. Nobody is coming out for that in Miami! It has Always been that way...
Posted by: Jack | September 15, 2012 at 05:44 PM
Miami attendance has been made fun of by the media for years. It's one of the few major programs in a city with stuff to do better than watch a high school team come to town. Not going to this game does not necessarily show lack of support for the team, it shows that the citizens of Miami have a brain not to waste their $ on the product that is on the field and their worthless opponent. These dollars fall under disposable/entertainment that crap today was not worth the money. It can be better spent elsewhere.
Posted by: BEERicane | September 15, 2012 at 05:45 PM

NC St
