Boston college lost too

from what i could see on tv I doubt there was 40,000 there. Maybe tickets distributed??

Felipe

Idaho in a dogfight with LSU. If anyone knocks Alabama off, I'll be shocked.

BEERicane

BC and Maryland will be playing this year to see who is not the worst BCS school.

Account Deleted

Tenn had a chance against FL, gave up a bunch of big plays in the second half.

BEERicane

UT D giving up some HUGE plays. Cost them the game

BEERicane

Utah state crushing Wisky

Felipe

Wisconsin's a bad football team. Chryst is gone.

Wisconsin fans are such morons too. Bielema's a defensive coach, defense cost them a shot at Alabama next year, therefore claw scratch and eyeroll at any effort to say "wow Bielema kinda sucks." Great work guys, got him an extension.

Jack

Chikillo had a INT too.

Felipe

Hahaha,

Matt Garrett ‏@Matt44G
@brdispatch Said it 5 years ago, said it last week. I will say it .... Again. Bret Bielema is Larry Coker 2.0. Overrated coach

No way there were 40K there. Maybe tickets sold, but not in the stadium. It was the worst crowd I have ever seen and I have seen a LOT of them.

86Cane

4-Real...your team won today.

The Gatas beat Rocky Top.

Felipe

Miami has a bright future and a miserable present. All I can say. Go Canes.

Golden on what to take from this game…

"We’ve got a long way to go. Obviously we still gave up some explosive plays, and we did not connect on a couple times on offense when we should have. We need to keep working on everybody doing their job and executing. I think we made a lot of progress, special teams made a lot of progress today. The defense gave up one touchdown on a short field after a turnover, which was good. The offensive hung in there and got the running game going a little bit. We have to keep hanging in there."

Tsully76

86 do you think it was 20,000 of us Canes fans at Sun Life today

Jramos

If it wasnt for duke, this game would of been alot closer....pretty scary if you ask me

4-Real

86, I sincerely hope YOUR TEAM wins the rest of their games!!

Golden on Duke Johnson’s production and playing time…

"We have to be careful. Mike [James] is doing a good job for us and played really well today. I thought OT [Eduardo Clements] did a nice job. We have to make sure we don’t think he can do more than he’s doing right now. He’s doing a great job with what we’ve given him. This was his first time here [at Sun Life Stadium], it’s his first time managing class, study hall, everything. We have to be careful. It’s a long season. Clearly he’s fresh enough right now that when he gets in, he can make a difference. I think if we gave it to him 30 times, I don’t know if that would be the case. All those guys together are creating more explosive plays for Duke, because Mike [James] is doing a lot of the heavy lifting."

Alberto

Sad to see our team poorly coached. Next week will be worst than ksu. Our coaching staff is less than average. Sad!

86Cane

Sully...always a pleasure seeing as REAL Canes fan come ALL the way from Alabama to see a UM home game. Maybe 20-25K at the game today, no more than that.

86Cane

Felipe...love to read your comments here on Canespace.

JRamos...welcome to The Space!

Golden on defensive improvement…

"I thought it was much better. We were dealing with some nicks throughout the game with some guys being out. Is it perfect yet? No, it’s not perfect. Guys are fighting, they’re flying around. We didn’t get the takeaways we want to get, but that’s hard to do. We had a veteran team a year ago and we didn’t keep them out of the endzone like we did today. I think we improved, and clearly we have to go back to work tomorrow and get to Georgia Tech."

canezilla

THEY NEED TO CHILL WITH THESE NOON GAMES!!!! HOLY CRAP IT WAS HOT. I WOULD SAY 18,000 SHOWED UP TODAY AND 1,000 OF THEM WERE THE B-CU BAND

86Cane

Golden on Stephen Morris’ performance…

"Spotty. It wasn’t for a lack of a great week in practice. The ball sailed on him a couple times which is unlike him. He just needs to relax. Stephen tries to please and do so well that he just needs to relax. The one after the turnover sailed. A couple ones towards the sidelines sailed on him. He just needs to relax, and he will. He’ll get better. Early on with the edge pressure, we have to do a better job protecting him so he feels a little more comfortable and confident in the game. That’s all of our responsibility here – on us as coaches, on Stephen stepping up, and on the offense in protecting on the edge pressure."

Tsully76

Agreed 86 see ya in 2 weeks fam.

Usagainsttheworld

I was wrong-- well kinda. Glad the Canes got the win!

Ohio_Cane

@SaveUMFootball: LB Denzel Perryman suffered a high ankle sprain during today's game. His status for Georgia Tech is doubtful. Wearing a protective boot.

BigWIndyCane-Forecast1

Duke is special. Duke is doing what he was doing in High School last year. Those TDs looked easy. The Canes will play better next week. Golden will get these things fixed. I hope Perryman can play, though.

Those types of sprains are aggravating as HELL!

Duke is doing what he was doing in High School last year.

Yes He is, He's made BC and BCC look like Wakulla.

SLS had maybe 15,000 people in the stands, if you take away Both bands and the UM students that got free tickets we had about 7,000..... there was 3 times as many people tailgating and never entered the stadium. I swear it is so sad we got called out by the national media about our fans, that place looked like the Friggin Catalina Wine Mixer and the Billy Joel Cover band just left...

86Cane

Golden on Seantrel Henderon’s performance…

Seantrel played both [left tackle and right "tackle], which was big. I asked him how he felt as soon as we got in the locker room and he smiled. I think he’s starting to get to the point where he can compete more, and we can get to the point we can use more offensive linemen. It was warm today, we played a lot of guys, and I was happy to see him compete. It looked like he held up in conditioning - we’ll see on the film."

Impressive D[]_[]ke Johnson stat: The young back only has 2 negative yards on rushes this season.

Impressive D[]_[]ke Johnson stat: Averaging 9.4 yards per carry

I think he got the memo from Joaquin

orange 'n green in the vein

Matt Barkley, awesome college quarterback, as long as he doesn't have to play a ranked team. LMFAO!

Sies is going to need a handful of Viagra to keep his chubby for the guy up after this loss.

86 mailing in the post game blog like UM mailed in the scheduling coming off a complete blowout for the home opener this year. I don't blame him, hope the tailgate was entertaining.

Perryman with the high ankle sprain will probably put enough of a damper his season to get Chick or maybe E. Johnson (looks good for a freshman playing his first month of college football) the LOF on D nomination this year. See, those 'lock' picks are never a guarantee people!

86Cane

Golden on overall game assessment…

"I think we got better. I understand there’s going to be some negative things – procedure penalties, we missed some long balls, we allowed some long, explosive runs. But there’s nothing wrong with improving and winning. And that’s what we did this week – we improved and we won. I want to make sure the kids understand it’s hard. Ask Colorado if it’s hard. Ask Arkansas if it’s hard. It’s hard, no matter what. Certainly when we’re playing a team like this who a) knows how to win, b) is very aggressive and c) there’s a connection in terms of everyone knowing each other, and it’s a prideful group, it’s a tough out."
