Today: Your Miami Hurricanes will face the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame at Soldier Field in Chicago. Widely advertised as a "neutral game site" there is absolutely nothing neutral about the home field advantage for the Irish as they traveled just 90 miles versus 900 miles for your crew from the 305.
This game is so huge on the college football horizon for Hurricane fans that it is almost unimaginable. The game may very well be the season turning catalyst that the Hurricanes need to aspire to higher achievements and glory as they look to regain National prominence.
Here's a little pump up video for the game from our friend CaneFreak:
Tomorrow: Hurricane fans hope to be celebrating the biggest win for Miami since their 2009 victory over then highly ranked Oklahoma at Sun life Stadium. If the Hurricanes can find a way to beat Notre Dame in Chicago the sky is all of a sudden the limit for this young but talented team.
It would be by far the biggest win of UM head coach Al Golden's young UM career and set up two huge ACC match-ups with North Carolina and Florida State back to back at home in Miami. Now doesn't that sound like fun from the good old days?
If you want to work hard and get dirty then this video will get it done:
Always: Respect the other team and root for your Miami Hurricanes to win the game against any opponent at any site, neutral or not. Today's game holds incredible opportunities for UM against a storied program and big time rival in what basically amounts to a home game for the Irish.
May the game be a good contest, be fairly called and hard fought throughout.
And may the best team win!
Canespace Prediction: UM 31, ND 27
Tommy Rees the Sun Bowl QB is going to start
Gholston is benched.

Thanks for making the team bus without your brain today Phillip.

Morris looked good on that series - maybe #4 loses the ball in the glare of those freaking helmets?!
Posted by: CGNC | October 06, 2012 at 07:44 PM
dorsett chocked....two easy td's dropped them both...nerves of a rookie...
Posted by: Account Deleted | October 06, 2012 at 07:46 PM
Morris is ready for prime time, but Dorsett is not. These kind of drops will cause the Canes to loose if they dont't end those kind of mistakes.
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | October 06, 2012 at 07:46 PM
Wow. Two dropped TD passes on the same drive. That's not easy to do.
But I promised Willie Will I'd never say anything bad about Dorsett...

We have brick hands.

The refs will not let us win this game regardless of how many drops we have
Posted by: AnthonyJManis aka Antcane | October 06, 2012 at 07:52 PM
QB zone read from the shotgun = 13. Sounds about average.
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | October 06, 2012 at 07:53 PM

Posted by: 4-Real | October 06, 2012 at 07:54 PM
a reverse of the call years ago...this one will go back to ND...back then they gave it to ND when it was the U that dropped it at the goal line.....
Posted by: Account Deleted | October 06, 2012 at 07:56 PM
UM is not getting that '88 fumble back with interest this year thanks to replay.

Where ja fu@l are these refs from?
Posted by: Sinistercane | October 06, 2012 at 07:58 PM
ND will put up 35 easy tonight....I'd say near 450 in total offense before it's over.
It's all up to Morris to keep us in this...

Couldn't script a worse opening six minutes of this game for Miami if you tried.
Well, no, you could script a start for Turf Face, I take that back.
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | October 06, 2012 at 07:59 PM
We should be up.

Posted by: Account Deleted | October 06, 2012 at 08:06 PM
two dropped td's...
penalty kills another one....
at least Wieclaw didn't miss
Posted by: Account Deleted | October 06, 2012 at 08:08 PM
Canes 1st team to put up points on Irish in 1st qtr.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | October 06, 2012 at 08:08 PM
Wieclaw off the schnide. That's a real ticky-tack holding call, they better call that both ways all game long now if the refs are setting that as a precedent on a TD run.
