Dude on a Pale Horse

Its a perfect storm of the ACC being awful OGV. But after all we've been through since joining the ACC, I'll take what I can get. LETS GO CANES!!! Coastal Champs or BUST in 2012!!!

Dude on a Pale Horse

Al Golden needs to know I can taste ACC blood now and I like it!

I'm going to expect ACC championship games every year now, lol.

Next year a senior QB will make our O better and more consistent. Our D will be bigger and know the D much much better, we will not be calling vanilla D all game. I expect our D to be MUCH improved next year.

UNC's not that bad, but it is the perfect storm of mediocrity in the conference and a little NCAA wrist slapping benefiting Al's guys but like you, I'll take it happily and see where the chips fall. Just don't count out the Blue Devils just yet is all I'm cautioning, they're improved, obviously, but they also can play with the rest of the ACC now, including Miami and as you know there are some people who consider Wallace Wade Stadium a tough place to play, people with a better all time coaching record that Golden even!

Dude on a Pale Horse

An ACC championship berth would give us a HUGE BOOST in recruiting.

Dude on a Pale Horse

In fact, this win was so big, my unborn son just gave his solid verbal to Al Golden to play QB at The U.

orange 'n green in the vein

Wow, looking at the stats I'm just glad UM finally decided to take one of these home games the opposition was just itching to offer up to them finally, could not have come at a better time!

Also, welcome back Jake Wieclaw from your kidnapped holding cell, that replacement they suited up for you for the last month and a half needs to be fitted for a pair of cement cleats in the inter-coastal.

Plus, Mrs. Feliciano, I just have to ask you . . . does your son really call out the blitz pickups from his guard position like I swore I saw him doing tonight? I've never seen that before in my life from any football team but there's always a first and for some reason I wouldn't put it past a Kehoe coached line to actually use that particular job assignment and get away with it.

What Willie? You thought I was going to ask her what she said? You music city sicko, how dare you! I've got way more respect for a woman who can take the agony that comes with getting her spine tattooed up like she has to rise to the status of blog fan favorite in no time at all to resort to such a well worn chestnut punchline.

All I can do after that is LMAO

orange 'n green in the vein

;), I have no clue what those vertebrae say Willie, but if you ever get to translate them to the appropriate romance language, be sure to let me know! Maybe they read, "RG calls R OK?" Too long? She is kind of tall though . . .

Man, I've got to check out in 10 hours, time to sleep.

Again LMAO

Even OGV had nothing but nice things to say after the game.

I love it. It's about time we beat those idiots.

The defense didn't kill us. They allowed VT to shoot themselves in the foot, and they absolutely did.

Duke Johnson now has over 1,300 total yards on the season...

...and they pounded the football and put the game away. Excellent.

Let's become Clemson fans for a quick moment, then get ready for revenge against the Cavaliers.

What to root for:

1. Duke loses to both Georgia Tech and Clemson.

2. Va. Tech loses to FSU.

3. Georgia Tech loses to North Carolina.

... in this instance, it doesn't matter what happens.

Let's kill the Cavaliers!

This was a great win for Al Golden and the canes. His critics will be silenced for a while with three wins where the Canes will actually be factored. Wins will also help with recruiting. The present and future for Golden is bright

Good call Zilla!

Great win!

Go Canes!!!

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

Nice win for the 'Canes last night. Still do not love ghe offensive play calling. Not sure how much I loved the all orange uni's (they looked a bit like Clemson) but if they keep playin like that I do not mind if they keep wearing them.

Loudest 8000 and change crowd I've ever heard last night, I bet the Grove was pumping yesterday though. Plus it's always funny when a QB who talked smack about attendance and noise not being a factor absolutely craps the bed as well! Maybe next year Chokie Logan.

Zilla, OGV and all of the other 12,000 fans at the game last night: I LOVE U MAN!

What a great night, great game and great win by OUR team. GO CANES!!!

orange 'n green in the vein

SOUP, did they ever announce an attendance last night or was I in the bathroom or in line for an adult beverage at that point? Plus, a dude wins dance for your dinner? I'm going to have to ask for a refund from Blake James on principle now, despite the blowout win! LOL!

"What a great night, great game and great win by OUR team. GO CANES!!!"

You bet. Arguably the biggest win in Golden's career. An archrival in a divisional game after a 3 game losing streak. It was excellent. Excellent!

We need Deon Bush. He set the tone, and hated to come out.

Did you see Porter and the secondary play solid like that? Sweetness!

TGIF party people! Good win for us! I am concerned about the injuries though....we have some extra time before the next game.

OGV the Herald reported 37,000 and change in attendance

orange 'n green in the vein

ROTHFLMAO! 20,000 must have not been able to get through the traffic in the Grove in time for kickoff then. No way I'm giving that trash talking QB any meager credit on his part for being thrown off that number of empty seats and a third of that attendance.

The 3 hour drive home is finally going to be with a smile on my face instead of a frown.

Leaving the 954 headed to the 863.

Lead, follow or get the F#%& outta the way!

I am happy our Canes won last night. It's great to be a Miami Hurricane.

Did D'No (fka No D) save his job last night?
What do you guys think?

Definitely. Looks like he reads Canespace and finally started to pressure the QB!

orange 'n green in the vein

nemo, no.

QB zone read keeps eating his lunch, another 200+ in rushing surrendered, another high completion percentage allowed and too much soft zone scheme getting gobbled up too easy. But!

This win does set him up to earn another year lease on life if they can finish in first or in second behind only UNC in the division though, if Barrow bolts to a new job and they can get Patrick and Hargreaves from USF to upgrade the defensive coaching staff, it'll be OK in the long run IMO.

Cooked turkeys on a Thursday night and it's not even Thanksgiving yet!! Woohoo!!

I am thankful, however!

I wonder why morris can hit a guy im stride 60 yards downfield, but cant hit a rb 2 yards away lol

OVG your post crack me up!

VA Cane

Glad you guys had fun at the game. We all raised a little hell on here, but I got to say the kids came through in a big way. The line pulled it together, Duke and MJ ran well....and Morris guided it. The D got a little better as well. I love press coverage, 1 on 1 man to man....I always play my corners that way. Have forever. You got to have good ones to do it...but we are getting there. I thought the coaches did better, the play calling was better as the game went on. Good job at the end by all. Couple sacks by Pierre...one was incredible. Damn that felt good....I think we all get to a point where we think oh no.....the kids really showed up!!!! Great win for us....keep thinking about those press corners OGV....Its a great way to play D!!!!! I will look for a nude OGV sighting.....with a fifth in his hand to celabrate....from above!!!!

orange 'n green in the vein

Now time for my favorite part of the home games, nursing the hangover away on the patio of the News Cage watching traffic on Ocean Drive. Perfect day for it too.

Good win. Still not in love with the defense but they did play somewhat better. Play calling has gone into the tank.
Kasey Rodgers is terrible.
Good to see Porter back.
Golden needed this win and now all we need is one more win and I'll celebrate and everything else we win will be sweet ginger brown.
Lastely Jedd needs to quit pushing the the snooze button.

This game was so crazy. This team is so hot and cold! First quarter great. 2nd eh 3rd terrbile!!4th great. If this team can put together a full game like our D did and than the way our Offense can click at times wow! That will be great to watch! I have no voice and a headache still!! I love gamedays!

Been thinking about a piece Omar wrote on the blog several yeats back where he talked about the number of gamebreaker required to have a championship caliber team. I believe it was based off a discussion he had with either Shannon or Swasey. Does anyone recall that? Id like to review and compare to our situation as we move forward. If i recall he a saying a championship caliber team has atleast 5...should be interesting.

I'd say you need at least 6. 3 on dee & 3 ON OFF. We have nobody yet, thats a game changer. Duke, Bush, Perryman & Dorsett are 4 that we have right now that could eventually be gamebreakers for us. Morris isn't it, he's to eratic and someone up front on defense has got to step up or we need to go get that guy, through recruiting. Duke has shown glimpses, that he could be the man, right now but more than likely, next year will be his time to really breakout.

8th man in the box

Duke and PD came to mind as potentials, 4 me

I don't know about offense, but defensively, ALL 11!
Reason being, the offense is always behind, they don't know the snap count, they don't what the play's going to be. So you need an athlete to make up those two steps that He's already behind.

While offense is all rote, they know the snap count, they know what the play's going to be, etc.,etc.. If anything, speed and quickness is the cherry on top for offense, more than the rule.

Correction: "the DEFENSE is always behind"

Wut up people!!! Currently dealing with this -15 degree weather in Fairbanks, buts its all good..lol..I heard from a extremely reliable source that we have a great chance to pull all those boys from Booker T!!! D. Kirkland, M.Thomas, 2014 ATH/QB Treon Harris (Brandon Harris Lil brother), and 2014 DE Chad Thomas...also heard we might regret not going after a few like Jesus Wilson...dude is a str8 speedster...FSU got a good recruit with him

dj moonbat

Well, now neither the offense nor the defense looks very good. However, the defense looks a lot better this past couple games -- bad, instead of horrible.

Things are looking up. Now if they can just beat Duke...

[Can you believe we have to sweat the DUKE GAME?!]

Nemo -

Yes coach D will be back, the D has been improving since the ND game!

Does anyone know if there were any recruits at the game last night? Probably not many but just curious
