With Thanksgiving just a few weeks away it is totally understood by most and fully acceptable to many that several million turkeys will die soon. That is just the way it is this time of the year.
Just in case you were living under a rock, this week Miami plays ACC rival Virginia Tech. If the Hurricanes are to survive this season, one big Turkey must die and it must die hard.
University of Miami head coach Al Golden has only been on the job for just over a year and a half and just long enough for him to find his way to South Beach or Sun Life Stadium. Yet even though the current team, culture and program are still not fully his, he is being judged based on the the current performance of this 2012 team.
Hurricane fans, when not being drunk and foolish, make their mark by being totally and completely unrealistic. It would seem that each of them have their own magic wands that they have selfishly failed to share with Coach Golden but nonetheless they judge him with no mercy according to the National Championship standards that they believe are easily achievable each and every year at Miami.
Their is no doubt that the biggest game of the Golden tenure so far is coming this Thursday night on National television. If Miami wins all is well and good within the Hurricane family. If they lose it will not be pretty even among the most hard core Cane fans.
Apparently, that is just the way it is in the 305. No mercy given, none expected. GO CANES, BEAT THE HOKIES!!!
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO

Packing today for the drive down Thursday so the drinks are getting chilled tonight.
Al asked for these expectations, that's why it's by-by time for his running buddy mutants from Philly. Q said it best, should have never let go of Petri. Not like he went on and did anything notable at his next stop though, like help perform a minor legit miracle at Duke, did he?

Zilla,
You been killing it homie. Can we at least break out the green uniforms tomorrow or change up the coordination like all orange or something????

I expect Canes to come out with agression and passion just as they did against FSU. I hope they maintain it thru 4 quarters.
Go Canes

Papa Cane - Recruiting Update: In a tactical move, FSU has offered QB John Franklin (Alex Collins' best friend). Not sure if it's "committable".
Recruiting Update: A move of this nature by FSU - offering Franklin out of desperation - adds a great level of turbulence to Collins status.
Recruiting Update: QB John Franklin is would have never been offered by FSU if they would not be crazy for RB Alex Collins. #RecruitingWar
The recruiting war between Miami and Florida State is on, and in full effect. We haven't seen something like this in years. Winner take all.
FSU used a similar tactic with the Alexander brothers. Offered Mackenro but Mackensie did not bite, then retracted.

Ohio,
Not only are they hot on Collins but Bryant & Kerr too. Even Ray's son has got the soft verbal fever. Looking through the Florida hot 100 and saw at least 3 good size lb's, in the 6'2 220 range & and everybody but us are offering. I just don't get it, we need size and the only lb to my knowledge, that we have offered that plays the middle, that we have a chance at is George Williams 5'11 220.

Nine members of the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team will fly into Sun Life Stadium prior to kickoff of Thursday night’s game between the Miami Hurricanes and Virginia Tech Hokies.
The U.S. Army team will begin their jump at 7:09 p.m. ET and is expected to land on the field at approximately 7:14 p.m. A static narrator will be on the ground, providing the Sun Life crowd with play-by-play before the team’s grand entrance.
The Golden Knights will parachute down to the field carrying the POW/MIA, Army Star, Florida, U.S. and University of Miami flags as well as the game ball.
OGV...DON'T GET ANY IDEAS!

Recruiting 'intrigue' less than 24 hours with the lead in the division title race line? Really herbie?
Who gives a damn about high school seniors who aren't going to make a single play this year for anybody except their senior highs? Get back to me on this in February.
Shocked nobody's gone in on a score prediction. Even though I refrain from that, I'm thinking this is a winnable game but once again the coaching, like last year, will ensure a defensive stop late isn't made for the fourth loss in a row. Maybe Al gets it finally for once and gets what some will count as a 'breakthrough' win?
