Jack

I BELIEVE in this coach and team!

I see us winning 3 of 4! 7-5 improvement indeed!! Good showing lastnight for the D! The D will continue to improve and we WILL finish strong!

Tonycane

One thing no one has mentioned is that we have not had a buy week yet. A lot of other schools have already had one, or in some cases two (temple). Doesn't factor against Fsu though, as they have played 7 games in a row as well.

CGNC

CGNC

Willie Will - I like you and respect your opinions BUT when someone disagrees like me or Zakkee about Morris as QB you don't have to get defensive about it. Zakkee's points are valid. I still think 17 is ok but he is not GREAT - he has flashes during the game when he is and then POOF its gone and he is like that bad ankle or not. What we need is good\great right now with all the other things going on and we just don't have that.

Team fought hard last night. That's all I really asked for

Zakkee

I like Golden personally but he can't coach schematically

We cannot pull an upset thru adjustments and out scheming an opposing coach. Like Tommy Tuberville does yearly.

All the kids have is heart and determination, the intellectual piece isn't there from the coaches.

NEW BLOG IS UP!

WWIN

No more experimental coaches at Miami please.

What do you think Butch was when he first came???

j.w.

The game was ok- stayed off twitter, the blog just so I could enjoy it as much as possible. The good news: McCord, no penalties, took advantage of some mistakes, Morris showed a ton of heart and guts. Bad: too many short passes (because of Morris health, play calling, defense by FSU took away the intermediate and deep routes?), just never got the running game going, Gaines just doesn't belong anywhere outside of special teams, OL broke down, DL got worn down. Hopefully this game sets us up for Va Tech, win that one and we're likely to win the rest.

LaQuinton

Could have been a blowout. This is a good young team tho. I'm very confident in golden.

LaQuinton

I saw a good game. Didn't win and the offense was inept and the play calling was wayy too conservative

Have you ever seen players not play for a certain qb. Let me explain it to ya, J12 came in with the infamous 08 class, who do you think they wanted to play for?? Before you answer let me mind you that these are the same players that declared for the draft without any feedback. I guarantee they made him look good in practice on purpose. And if it wasn't for Streeter he would have thrown almost the same amount of int's that he usually does. As a coach you play the qb that the players are going to play for.

So which side are you on so we can get this clear, you Golden or not???

Dude on a Pale Horse

SOUP, IF.

Dude on a Pale Horse

We need 2 more wins and a self imposed bowl ban and an amazing recruiting class and an amazing offseason workout. Next year an ACC conference championship game or bust.

Dude on a Pale Horse

VTech sucks and we will probably lose to them. We could beat Duke, USF and UVA.

SOUP

Dude it ain't done yet. IF Golden wins 6 games he gets the LIFETIME contract. If not he goes to South Beach. Either way he wins!

Dude on a Pale Horse

No lifetime contract for Goldie. 3 game skid. Butch Davis is the answer. No more experimental coaches at Miami please.

SOUP

OGV...I'm not like U. I don't root against my team or enjoy when they fail. But TALENT I always appreciate! That we have in common.

orange 'n green in the vein

SOUP, glad you can stomach this crap because I'm tired of being forced fed this garbage.but it was a talent laden affair tonight.

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

When does basketball season start? We should actually be descent this year!

SOUP

Raize...U shoulda been there. There was talent everywhere. That's all I can say.

Oh, yeah and on the field too.

SOUP

Don't pick on J12, he's my best buddy.

No really.

raizecane

Seems like just yesterday that we were 4 - 1.

raizecane

first!!!!.....oh.....nevermind

panamacitycane

Lets just get this coastal..which by the way duke is not a guaranteed win..hell no game we have left is..I dont know if we will get bowl eligible..I have faith but im just not confident..anyways lets all hope for the best and not the worst

SOUP

So who did Miami play and what was the score?

Zakkee

If they played Jacory only because he was a senior, hen that is a clear indictment of the coaching staff you support. What about performance, how they practice, film study, and accountability?

They played Jacory Harris over Morris ONLY because he had been in college longer? LOL! Why would support coaches that would make that kind of decision?

They played Jacory because he had the ability to go thru progressions and play "smarter" than Morris.

What about our first loss to South Florida ever?

Montreal-Cane

Posted by: Willie Will in Nashville | October 21, 2012 at 12:58 AM

Agree.

WWIN

This is the only reason Jacory played over his arm strength and athleticism.

Posted by: Zakkee | October 21, 2012 at 12:41 AM

Jacory being a senior is the only reason why he played over him and that made no sense at all. Morris won that competition in the sun bowl against notre dame when he came in for him. Plus why wouldn't you play morris last year and he would be twice as better now with that experience

orange 'n green in the vein

I think Golden needs BCC to play him every week, he'd be good then.

panamacitycane

Why is everyone shocked?? We all knew it was going to be a loss. Just be happy it wasnt as bad as it could have been. Yeah defense played better then normal but still gave up too many first downs. And offense lost duke and should have tried williamz half way through the 3rd. But im happy we didnt get too embarassed.

Zakkee

The coaches know this about Morris but refuse to help him with a steady running game.

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

Again I am not rushing to judgement and I try to be a level headed fan after a loss.

But if I do not see improvement and a high calibar of play in 2 or 3 years then I say the process has failed... that is when most of the current players will either be juniors or seniors and would have plenty of game experience.

2 years in college football feels like an enternity, though.

Zakkee

Morris decides who he is throwing to when the play is called

If that person isn't open he believes the play is shot and begins to scramble or he throws it anyway.

He doesn't have the mental side of being a QB down yet.

At least 30 plays are wasted per game between the 2nd and 3rd quarters when his brain is seemingly rebooting. Someone is always open...just not the person he is STARING at.

This is the only reason Jacory played over his arm strength and athleticism.

WWIN

Everybody please stay away from the "OVER REACTION PILLS" please!!!!!!!

orange 'n green in the vein

200 plus on the ground surrendered, another week the other team tried to hand the win over and the Philly mutants didn't want to accept it.
FEAR THE LIE!

raizecane

I didn't get my birthday wish (a Canes win) but I did get to have 8 crown on the rocks for free today :-)

WWIN

How many qb pressures did fsu have??????

JRamos

horrible play calling and horrible coaching, nothing else to say. Down spiral from here on!

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

nemo2002, that is a depressing statement.

raizecane

Tough game to watch....again. I think the defense played much better despite still giving up 400+ yards.

The offense just sucked ass tonight....and how bad is Williams if Morris (who arrived to the stadium wearing a fricking boot and took no snaps this week) plays the whole game.

This just in.....Kansas State is DAMN GOOD!!!

Zakkee

Morris is a little off mentally, he plays when he wants (has ADHD) and has distinct lapses of play in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. He stares down receivers and never goes thru his progressions completely. If he was that hurt then Ryan Williams would have played.
Hip flexor and SEVERELY sprained ankle, but did you see the move he made on that pass back to him? He also broke tackles on that run and threw a strike to end the game.
He did have some nice passes that were dropped, but how many plays did he just waste throughout the game.

WWIN

The defense is on the rise, the offense is on the decline. NOBODY can blame the D this game, the offense kept them on the field to long. Basic football tells you that if you have 80 yds total for the half chances are the other team will have 175+. This was not close to being a blow out we were competitive the whole game till the end. Florida and lsu do have offense

nemo2002

UF is certainly back - battling for a spot in the national championship game again.
FSU is kinda back - favored to win the ACC and aiming for a BCS bowl game again.
The U is WAY back - ranked 65 in the FBS (before tonight's loss) and hoping to win enough remining games to self-impose a postseason bowl ban again.

Man, this is depressing!

Montreal-Cane

We cannot blame Morris. But i can blame the entire coaching staff for this lost. We were in the game and the play calling in the 2nd half has been the worst that i have seen in a long time at Miami. I hope Golden coached his worst game ever if not we are not out of the woods.

Once again why leave an injured Stephen Morris at the end of the 4th. Why do you have Dorsett throwing to Morris for a run? Do they want Morris out for the rest of the season?

Let's get ready for VT... a win will make us happy and a lost will make this season a mediocre one...once again.

No D

Tired of seeing wasted talent come and go to the NFL. Can't coach them cause we got a penny pincher president.

jiggafras

Why win today when we can wait till next year. FSU, VT and UNC away from home. I have long since accepted our faith this season. We are not very good and it is what it is. Lots of us had expectations based on all the news coming from the offseason. We have been blown out by every good team we played. We are not going anywhere until that defense is fixed, end of. And anyone want to talk about offense blah blah. Ask LSU, UF and ND where is the offense. Fix the defense!

nemo2002

Losing to UNC was a bad omen for the U. I'm afraid that we're on a Shannonesque season-ending tailspin.

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

Let's face it, Miami is not the same caliber as FSU, ND, etc. Hell Duke might be on a different level as well. It's frustrating but we all knew deep in our hearts that Miami was not going to win tonight.

Get 2 more wins, decline the bowl bid. Take the sanctions.

If I do not start seeing improvement next year, then I will start to doubt the process. Until then I have to believe.... There has to be hope, right?

WWIN

Lets not forget that Morris is injured and she have been playing, and he didn't practice all week, what did you expect from him?? He didn't call the plays all night like passing to a man that hasn't played all year inside the 10 on 3rd and 2. He's not the one calling for a drop back pass on 3rd and 6 against the fastest D they played all year while he's on a bum ankle

TonyCane

So end result is that Miami scores one more point that they did against FSU last year, and gives up 10 more than they did a year ago.

Montreal-Cane

OGV i will have to start to agree with you about the Golden boy...And my god we still have a big dark cloud coming with the recruiting...I stop here...I will return when i see some lights...

TonyCane

Miami down 13 with about a minute to go. Just like my dream early this morning.

Zakkee

Here come the excuses.

Is anyone seriously gonna say that we couldn't win this game or the team didn't show up to play?

The kids were ready to be led to victory

and then there was no real plan for victory

Morris didn't lay everything on the line

and Golden's staff can't coach...its simple to see now. We need a miracle every week.

orange 'n green in the vein

Not just the depth chart contributing to that BEER.how many yards tonight surrendered?

UpNorthCane27

We wont be back until a real QB is leading us and our OC ad DC are top tier .... Our defense held it down today as much as they could our offense was down right pathetic

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

It would be nice for our O, D and ST to all play complete game. Maybe one game this season?! Next year? 2015?

Montreal-Cane

How stupid is Al Golden to let Stephen Morris in the game at this point????

BEERicane

Davon Johnson is the only receiver worth a damn. If that kid doesn't start, the staff has no credibility

orange 'n green in the vein

Got a chance next week but the Philly mutant.s are wearing thin

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

I gotta say I believe in the process but Miami looks like a JV team compared to most schools. Every team is faster and quicker and more disciplined plus more talented. I know they are young but...

orange 'n green in the vein

So, this is what hell feels like?

BEERicane

Fire Fish. We give D?No! So much crap on here, this is 2 games in a row Fish called garbage. We just can't get both units/coordinators to show up on the same day.

Zakkee

Kacy freakin Rodgers...wow!

Jack

Not enough depth! Hard fought game...

BEERicane

FSU 3 deep RBs better than all of miamis backs combined. At least FSU won't cover the spread

orange 'n green in the vein

That's the Al Golden coached Miami we all recognize.

SwagGirl

Thanks Willie Will!!!

Zakkee

I'm not giving up..lets go man!

No D

See ya next year. Fudge the NCAA! We don't need sanctions. We hire them.

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

I had a feeling it was going to get out of hand in the 4th. D needs to make tackles instead of trying to strip the ball.

mi@mic@ne

odios....go HEAT

WWIN

Ok I have a stupid question.... Why is there a guy on defense wearing #17 and isn't Morris that same number???

Posted by: SwagGirl | October 20, 2012 at 10:50 PM

My wife asked the same thing lol. Two players can have the same number if one is on offense and the other is on defense and they can't be on the field at the same time.

Zakkee

Stephen doesn't have the mental poise to be a great QB. He wastes so many plays.

And he is wasting a stellar performance by our O-line especially Seantrel Henderson!

Please get #22 off the field

No D

Need a real QB! Miss Dorsey.

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

Does all miamii wanna do is throw it deep? I like being aggressive but the odds of hitting those long passes are not great especially tonight.

Jack

Chit!

UpNorthCane27

This offense is so frustrating man its crazy how fast were in and out.... Wheres KEVIN OLSEN!!!

mi@mic@ne

fading fast

The Brown Recluse

Goodnight ya'll...

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

I actually hope OSU does go undefeated... Can't win the Big 10/12 whatever they call it. And can't win a NC. Too bad so sad.

No D

Wana puke! We suck big time. Let's get a real coach.

Zakkee

No I disagree...I'm not placing blame for their conduct on anyone but them. Its not a combination of anything..its str8 cheating period.

SwagGirl

Thanks NativeCane.

UpNorthCane27

Rodgers mightve just ruined any chance the U had of coming back

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

I hope the game does not get out of hand in the 4th

orange 'n green in the vein

Need an answer of seven here, obviously.

The Brown Recluse

Only 3 points have been scored since the 1st quarter. Miami has been out scored 22-3!

Zakkee

#7 has to be better than Kacy Rodgers

Telemaque has been known to make plays before, but Rodgers has NEVER made a play for the Miami Hurricanes!

mi@mic@ne

we had enough d tonight ..but the o is not getting it done

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

Zakkee, and dumb coaching by the opponent...

Zakkee

Thats not called luck my friend.

Its called bias, cheating, or preferential treatment.

Da U N Houston

Why is #7 in the game????????????

Zakkee

Kacy Rodgers is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

Going back in the blog, Ohio State and Notre Dame are two of the luckiest football teams. They seem to get all the calls.

orange 'n green in the vein

Good luck my friends, we all need it tonight.

Jack

Keep fighting CANES!!!

mi@mic@ne

duke is the kind of guy that you keep going his way and eventually he breaks one

mi@mic@ne

if morris can actually throw the ball into dukes hands we could get 5 yards a pop

MIA Chi 'Cane '98

I do not like fisch's red zone offensive calls.

mi@mic@ne

they had 10 in the box
