Paul picked up his second ACC weekly honor, while Johnson was named ACC Rookie of the Week for the second straight week and an ACC-leading fourth time this season. Through the first 11 weeks of the season, Miami has tallied 11 ACC Player of the Week honors, including seven by freshmen.
Paul, a 6-foot sophomore LB from Lakeland, Fla., shared Linebacker of the Week honors with Georgia Tech redshirt sophomore Quayshawn Nealy. Playing in place of the injured Denzel Perryman, Paul tallied a career-high 14 tackles – seven solo – in Miami’s 41-40 loss at Virginia. It was his second double-digit tackle game of the season, and his 14 stops are the most by a Hurricane in a game this season.
Johnson rushed for a career-high 150 yards on 16 carries and also threw for a 9-yard touchdown – his career-first pass – Saturday at Virginia. He now has three 100-yard rushing games this season, including 100+ yards in back-to-back games.
Johnson amassed a Miami-record 368 all-purpose yards which ranks as the fourth-most in ACC history. He registered 214 kick return yards on four tries, including a 95-yard kick return for a score. His two kick returns for touchdown this season are tied for the most in school history. He also become only the third FBS player since 2000 with a TD pass and a kickoff return for a TD in the same game.
ACC Coastal Division-leading Miami (5-5, 4-3 ACC) will step out of conference play one last time Saturday when it hosts USF (3-6, 1-4 BIG EAST) for Senior Day. Saturday’s game will kick at 3 p.m. ET on RSN.

I have now been told that the earlier rumor about selling the tickets is FALSE. That's why I usually don't play that game, my mistake.
Posted by: 86Cane | November 12, 2012 at 01:46 PM
86 no biggie to me. Doesn't matter why they were suspended they are just dumb for doing whatever they did period. Its really sad that had they been in the game the outcome could have been something else.
Posted by: laquinton | November 12, 2012 at 01:54 PM
Wish I could be down there. The Hurricanes have NEVER lost a game that I attended, a streak that includes football, basketball, and baseball.
Posted by: Tonycane | November 12, 2012 at 01:59 PM
Regarding al golden not believing that the defense is a problem, I cannot picture that. D'no may be his chum, but results matter. Mack brown was good friends with Greg Davis but forced him out when it was clear that Davis wAs no longer a match for the UT program.
If a change is made, give ray Lewis whatever is required and make him the dc. He's practically had the job as it is in Baltimore.

So SOUP, is the info that JW has worse?
And is it NCAA, or UM related?

86, and the rest of the Canespace Fam see you Saturday at Sun Life. Go Canes.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | November 12, 2012 at 02:43 PM
MAn, this last lost is hard to get over.....can't imagine how the players feel....The O finally shows up and then the D gets hit hard with suspension.....can we ever get it together.....
One observation, I know everyone wahts to see us play more man, but there really is only one guy who proves he can play man and that's TH3, Finnie CAN NOT!!!!! Gunter looks like he might be the other guy, he really reminds me of the bigger physical Seatlle corners.
Posted by: Da U N Houston | November 12, 2012 at 02:46 PM
Rock...It is an internal UM related issue, not NCAA.
Posted by: 86Cane | November 12, 2012 at 02:47 PM
McGee, Gunter, Howard & Finnie all have the skills to play man. They would at be pretty good at it if they actually being coached to do it... Imagine that concept... SMMFH!!!

Monday's UM practice notes, plus audio from Golden, D'Onofrio and Fisch
A couple of quick notes from Monday's post-practice interviews:
> UM coach Al Golden said linebackers Eddie Johnson and Gabe Terry, who did not make the trip to Virginia Saturday for not following team rules, didn't practice Monday. But Golden said he hopes to resolve issues with both of those players "tonight and tomorrow."
"I just wanted to get through the game film of this and didn't really want to -- they weren't part of that and I wanted to get through today and move forward with them tonight and tomorrow," Golden said.

I still cannot believe the call on Finnie on 4th down. The game should have been over then. Watch the replay over and over...What a terrible call.

I cut this from the Herald blog. It is Calvin's perspective as only Calvin can:
Man, i know if ej44, gabe terry, rashawn scott are being suspended for them trees, goldie needs to cut that out. I'm surprised the whole offense is not smoking weed, sitting around watching this defense, you need something to take your mind off of it.
Watching this defense will damyum have everybody looking for narcotics and living in the bottle to. Watching this defense is about as frustrated as i've ever been watching UM play, but it doesn't get worst than watching frank costa keep leaving the defense out on the field all fgame long against nebraska. frank costa was the 3 & out king of qb's of all time to ever come thru UM for sure, maybe even college football.
For the last home game, they should pass out weed to the whole stadium and you can only light it when the defense comes on the field, watching this defense sober is to got damyum stressful.

AG is showing NO SIGN, (ZERO, ZILCH, NADA), that D'No is going ANYWHERE...
Blaming it all on "youth," and "distractions..."
Sucks for us... and our beloved Canes...

I DO like the quote though Zilla.
Posted by: roachcane77 | November 12, 2012 at 04:50 PM
I'm more worried with all this NCAA stuff going on, plus now our defensive coach possibly could be on the hot seat, and seems players are arguing and getting in fights? I feel like our recruits are going to drop like flies. we are going to end up with a bunch of 3 stars or no star guys. You know those guys read the blogs and everything before they make decisions, and if I were a recruit reading this I would almost think about somewhere there is stability. I am just as mad about what we are seeing as everyone else and yes I do think we need another D coordinator but we have to remain positive and not act like a$$ hats. Because If we do then say bye to all the good players as they take the trip to Tallahassee and Gainesville.

If D'No stays, KY should consider buying the naming rights to Sun Life Stadium.
Posted by: Old Skool | November 12, 2012 at 04:58 PM
Would having a lot of hungry 2 and 3 stars be such a bad thing.....I mean the whole top 10 class thing under Randy didnt work out so well did?
Posted by: pbcfrcane13 | November 12, 2012 at 04:58 PM
Maybe Kentucky will look to hire Dno! We need to start talking how great he is to them and email all the hire ups about how great he is!!! lol
Posted by: pbcfrcane13 | November 12, 2012 at 05:07 PM
I think they should make Calvin in charge of fan promotions at UM. I might just buy season tickets if they implement his suggestions.
I don't know 86, I'm looking at it and tickets are down to $15 for first row upper deck seats right now but I'll make a decision by Wednesday and let you know. Weather is going to be real nice on South Beach Sunday it looks like so you never know . . .

Jimbo gets in trouble for calling the BCS format "retarted". No the best use of words but I have to agree with him.
FSU is ranked 10the with 2 teams in the SEC ranked higher and each has 2 losses.
