Duke Johnson, Dallas Crawford and Danny Dillard.
That's right, the "Triple D" boys are coming to a stadium near you in 2013. Next year at the running back position the University of Miami will have a triple threat backfield that will feature three very young and talented backs.
Duke Johnson is the talented running back that led the Hurricanes in rushing this season. Yeah,I think that you might of heard of him? As a true freshman in 2012 as he won several post-season ACC and National awards. Next year when he is in the running for the Heisman Trophy you can feel free to call me back. Duke is simply a pure playmaker who can make things happen on special teams and out of the backfield. Plus he has a stiff arm that make defenders look foolish and even rivals that of Adrian Peterson of the NFL's Minnesota Vikings. Duke will also play on Sunday's someday soon.
Dallas Crawford is the incredibly versatile player you watched run the wildcat offense for the Hurricanes in 2012. Crawford is the elusive, almost squirrely QB/RB/WR that can essentially do it all. He runs the scout team offense during Georgia Tech week and according to all reports he makes Miami defenders miss on a consistent basis. Look for much more Dallas in 2013 as he runs, hands off and throws the ball down the field all with the same ease.
Danny Dillard is the big, powerful running back that will compliment Duke and Dallas in 2013. You may not have heard a lot about Dillard during his red-shirt freshman year at Miami but we are very confident that with the graduation of RB Mike James that you will be hearing a lot about him in 2013. Danny has an NFL type body and work ethic and next year we will believe he will show his NFL level talent. We hear he can run through walls so running through ACC defenses should be a piece of cake.
Duke, Dallas and Danny.
I present to you the "Triple D" offense for the Miami Hurricanes in 2013.

Yeah... I'm looking forward to seeing Danny Dillard on a regular basis in the backfield. He could be my early pick for a 2013 LOF.

OK, I don't know if anyone is watching the 12/12/12 concert for disaster reilief for NJ after the hurricane but I will say this: There is some major talent there. Stones, Clapton, Bon Jovi, Bruce.
And if Alicia Keys makes love like she sings and plays the piano well then somebody is really lucky. She is very talented. I'm jus sayin...
Posted by: SOUP | December 12, 2012 at 10:16 PM
Dont sleep on our returning senior RB Clements either. He's also a talented guy.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | December 12, 2012 at 11:15 PM
Oh yeah, and our unsung FB. What's his name again? Ha ha.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | December 12, 2012 at 11:16 PM
We also return a ton of experience on the OLine. We will run all the live long day next year. Senior QB. What the over under on wins next year? These returners need to understand how important being successful next year is. Its the year to turn it around.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | December 12, 2012 at 11:18 PM
Dude, another crazy thing is that we are going to have SIX quarterbacks on the roster next fall (Morris, Williams, Dewey, Crow, Thompson, and Olsen). After years of having just two this is a profound change. I can't remember the last time that we had this much depth.

Tony,
Good post the other day about this really being Golden's second year coming up. I don't think a lot of people really understand that
Posted by: WWIN | December 13, 2012 at 12:52 AM
With all those QB's on the team, it looks like we're starting to schedule the patsies, pansies and never-heard-of states that will get them some playing time

Thought Golden smoked Dillard's redshirt in the final game on special teams? Stills confused why that happened
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 13, 2012 at 08:13 AM
For the last time... Golden did not burn Danny Dillard's redshirt! Give the man credit... he's a smart guy. The announcer mistook Tyrone Cornelius' jersey number for Dillard's jersey number and everybody went into an uproar. Mind you, this was the same game when Duke started on offense, the announcer introduced the 'Canes offensive line!!!

Canes CB Thomas Finnie released from jail; hearing set for Jan. 10
Finnie's high school coach Telly Lockette said Tuesday night he was disappointed to hear his former cornerback had run into trouble.
"He has a mother and a father he didn't need to do what he did," Lockette said. "I don't know if he was pressed. But I know he has a mom and a dad that love him. He's young, but you have to know right from wrong. Sometimes kids think they are invincible and it catches up with you. I try to tell them all the time one mistake can cost you everything. I hope that isn't the case for him."

I see where Al is going against my wishes and recruiting another 6'1 smurf to play DT, in Senat. I may blow a gasket if we get one more 6'0 or 6'1 linemen. Geez! Also he's starting to throw ships everywhere, so times must be tough, with some of the big dogs, so it looks like the big reach time.

Saw your post from yesterday abt. the fall- only had one scare like that, luckily I had been riding for a while when a horse reared up on me, so I knew how to hold on. Can be scary, but instead of thinking about it, just imagine yourself riding and shooting at the same time, just like in the John Wayne movies. :) That's my dream!

Report: Miami's Al Golden turns down Wisconsin
By Tom Fornelli
December 13, 2012 2:40 pm ET
Would you leave South Beach for Wisconsin? Miami's Al Golden wouldn't.
On Thursday Sports Illustrated's Pete Thamel reported that Miami's Al Golden, a favorite of Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez, had "emerged heavily" as a candidate and that he was "mulling a decision today." Well, Golden made that decision on Thursday not long after Thamel's original report, and his decision was to humbly decline Wisconsin's offer.
Which is good news for Miami, because the Wisconsin job is an attractive job for a head coach, but Golden has chosen to stay in South Beach. Which considering the outside factors at Miami, says a lot about his dedication to the school.
Golden just finished his second season at Miami, and the Hurricanes have gone 13-11 during his two seasons. Miami qualified for bowl eligibility in both seasons but self-imposed a bowl ban each season in light of the ongoing NCAA investigation into the program.
There's no telling what penalties the NCAA might impose on Miami in the future, which could have been a factor in Golden's departure had he decided to leave.
In his seven seasons as a head coach Golden's teams are only 40-45, but is 30-19 the last four seasons.

WHAT?!
So Golden didn't leave because He's uncertain of the penalties in the future...WTF! was Fornelli smoking.
