The rules are really simple. So simple that almost anyone could follow them.
1. First, you gotta show up. This is the most important rule.
Then you might meet UM coaches Michael Barrow and Terry Richardson. They will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about recruiting, players, talent, schemes, coverages, strategy and coaching. No really.
2. Second, you gotta stay until the very, very end. Do not leave early or ever!
You can't get soft or leave before it is over, and if you do you might miss this.
3. Good things will happen.
Would you want to miss a personal meeting with Hassan and Rohan Marley? Marley is the man behind a million hard hits and some really excellent coffee.
Oh yeah, and by the way, the score was 37-14 Miami Central over Gainesville.
The Rockets completely dominated the field of play from start to finish.
This was a good game with great players, great plays and lots of great assets.
1st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm jus sayin...U had to be there.
Hassan and I were working the crowd and looking for the UM coaches which we knew HAD to be there. So I eventually scouted them out and then called Hassan over via cell phone.
Barrow is WAY cool, Richardson not so much.
Posted by: 86Cane | December 17, 2012 at 12:05 AM
BTW...Casagrande from the SS since I know U read the Canespace blog everyday why don't U just man up, confess up, and comment?
Posted by: 86Cane | December 17, 2012 at 12:13 AM
86 I will see you and the rest of the Canespace crew for the Spring game.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | December 17, 2012 at 12:25 AM
What did Richardson do 86. i like casagrande.
Posted by: laquinton | December 17, 2012 at 01:11 AM
One short stint, and Michael is already the best.
Hey Mike!
Posted by: LB | December 17, 2012 at 07:04 AM
LQ...Richardson is cool but he is just a little arrogant and above the crowd while Barrow is much more approachable and likes to talk to the fans.
I asked Richardson this question: "Weren't even U a little surprised about how successful Duke was as a true freshman?"
His answer: "NO"
I said to him: "Look we all knew Duke was going to be good but weren't U surprised at HOW good he was as a freshman?"
His answer: "NO"
I asked him about Danny Dillard too. He did confirm that Dillard red-shirted and that he will be a great compliment to Duke next year.

Hassan is the one who told me that Casagrande reads Canespace on the regular. He knows what's up. LOL
Posted by: 86Cane | December 17, 2012 at 08:19 AM
I'd be surprised if Casagrande didn't read Canespace. He's in the media. He has to feed the article monster. He's in constant need of ideas and information. Canespace is a good source.
That doesn't mean he'll plagiarize what he reads, but he'll likely use it for inspiration or source of new leads or angles to pursue.

Odds on the next commit?
Posted by: LB | December 17, 2012 at 10:03 AM
---------------------------------------
Could be a few. Not sure on when/where guys want to announce their decision. Some are All-star games, etc.
Agree with Umike tho, will probably be Grace. We have a few that are 99%ers
See, I put 99% just for U, Caneitis. Lol
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 17, 2012 at 11:03 AM
Great to see that we got Bond, but unless we redshirt him, I don't see him playing DE. In his highlight reel, he played mostly DE. We have 11 commits and 6 are not ranked. This could be good or bad, I guess it depends on how our coaches develope them. I'll say this, it makes me queezy when we have that many NR's out of 11 commits. I would think with this recruiting class being small, we would be a little more selective, with the reaches. Some of these guys we could probably get anyway, when all else fails. We have still not addressed our main issues, which I won't mention again. It looks like Grace & Bostwick will be here, which will be to good gets. If you want to be on top and scrolling through some other big dog sites, you probably don't need to have but 3 maybe 4 NR's. Not saying these guys won't be great players, BUT!

Via Papa Cane:
"Recruiting Update: 2013 TE Beau Sandland will make his announcement on December 19th at 9:30 a.m. Mountain time. It's between ASU & UM."

Raize...I have the flu anyway so it is probably best that I not go either. No problem, catch U next time.
Posted by: 86Cane | December 17, 2012 at 01:03 PM
Soup try some Emergen-C, someone gave it to me and it really works on the cold and flu.
Update from the Discount Bowl or perhaps the Artificial Sweetener Bowl
Florida had sold just 6,500 of its required allottment of 17,500 tickets. Louisville, which is playing in just its second BCS bowl, has sold more than 14,000 of its allottment, but is getting financial help from Papa John's with the remaining tickets.
The Louisville-based pizza company donated money to the university to help offset the cost of the remaining tickets.
The tickets in the 600 level of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome were originally listed for $135, but now can be purchased through Louisville for $65 because of the donation from Papa Johns.
I guess the buy one get the second at half price deal didn't work.

Alex Collins
Stacey Coley
Denver Kirkland
Jaynard Bostwick
Jermaine Grace
Matt Thomas
Rashard Robinson
Punter
Is what we end up with

CoCane... You forgot Bryant, Muhammed and Green lol
Posted by: UMike | December 17, 2012 at 01:43 PM
***** Just because a player is labeled a 3* player doesn't mean that's really what he is, he could actually be a 5* player. It's only a label. USC was ranked the #1 team in the country before the season started, were they really the #1 team in the country? NO*****
See Eddie Johnson and Jalen Grimble, I wonder how they worked out????
Posted by: WWIN | December 17, 2012 at 01:48 PM
Lol. Actually I did forget Bryant. I think he's coming
Posted by: CoCane | December 17, 2012 at 01:52 PM
After watching adrian peterson I could stop thinking of how much duke reminds me of AP..same moves same stiff arm and same burst of speed when in the second level...I can not wait to see duke do his thing next year.

Jacory Harris is going to Canada!
Dec/17/12 08:03 AM Filed in: Jacory Harris
Jacory Harris, former Miami Hurricanes quarterback, is on to the Canadian Football League. From nice, warm Miami, to .... Edmonton.
The Edmonton Eskimos are expected to announce they have signed Jacory Harris to a contract.
This news comes on the heels of the Eskimos naming former receiver Ed Hervey as the teams general manager. Maybe this is one of his first moves.

Good call, I am all over it. This time the wife got sick first and gave it to me. It usually works the other way around but she got her some GOOD payback this time.

These are the players left who we have a chance to nab:
RB: Green, Williams, Collins
WR: Cunningham & Coley
DT: Bostwick, Senat, Bain & Bryant
DE: Williams, Mohammed & Johnson
LB: Foster, Grace & Thomas
TE: Sandlin, Wozniak
OL: Kirkland, Sony "Whatever his last name is, from Kenya"
DB: Robinson
I know they have a back-up plan, for these positions, which is plan B and in my book that's under the radar Or reaches, whatever you prefer! Hopefully we won't need plan "B".

Former Canes commit Angelo Jean-Louis says he "pulled the trigger" and committed to #Marshall today. "#Canes admissions flagged my scores. I would have to wait too long for them so Marshall's been here for me since Day 1."
Shocker...

BTW got to love it Clinton Portis is on 560 trying to recruit kids for us telling them they need to get down here to UM and play for the U.
Some JR RB named Urebe...or something like that and another kid named Cook.
Don't Im sure Yahoo will have this as a huge recuirting violation in a story coming soon lol
Posted by: pbcfrcane13 | December 17, 2012 at 05:00 PM
Herb, I'd say at least 30% of those are already silent.
Posted by: LB | December 17, 2012 at 05:08 PM
Yeah LB, I'd Grace & Bostwick. Bain has LSU as his leader. Robinson is already verballed to LSU. Collins visited Florida this past weekend, which doesn't mean anything. Bryant says FSU is his leader. Foster is a Long, long shot. From what I read last week Stanford leads for Cunningham. Greeen is a Michigan lean. I think we end up with Coley. Thomas & Kirkland are the keys for us & must gets. Jucco wise we need to nab Johnson, even if he is coming off knee surgery. We need one more CB too. Still don't have enough depth there.

"This was the most exciting season for me, trying to beat double teams, I got doubled a couple games, a couple of times I had three people on me, and I still found ways to beat them… It was a learning experience to try and beat double teams, it prepared me for college.”- Standish Dobard, via Caneinsider
