If the waiting is the hardest part, then that part may finally, mercifully be over for the Miami Hurricanes. Today it was reported by multiple sources that it is very likely that the University of Miami will receive their Notice of Allegations (NOA) from the NCAA on Monday.
The news first broke early Saturday afternoon as www.caneinsider.com reported that an un-named source close to the investigation had informed them that the NOA would arrive in Coral Gables on Monday morning. That report was soon confirmed by the Associated Press, the Miami Herald and a few others in the media.
It will be interesting to see what if any formal response comes from UM on what could be one very manic Monday for the university's administration, legal team and athletic department. If in fact the NOA does arrive there is likely going to be several hectic hours digesting the report which is certain to be followed by several meetings between President Donna Shalala, Acting AD Blake James and UM compliance department staff.
The University of Miami would then have up to 90 days to contest or appeal the allegations listed in the report, a process that most legal experts who have reviewed similar cases before the NCAA Committee on Infractions (COI), consider highly likely. This process could possibly delay the actual penalty phase from being completed until May or maybe even June.
In addition to likely receipt of the NCAA NOA report on Monday it was also announced that UM would hold a press conference at 11 AM to allow three players to announce their intentions to enter the NFL draft or remain at Miami for another year. Set to meet the press are OL Seantrel Henderson, OL Brandon Linder and DL Curtis Porter, all of whom are expected to return for another season at UM.
Join us for just another manic Monday at UM to start the week.

Ugly win but it's a win. This 4 game winning streak is impressive because they're doing it without Reggie. I actually thought they would lose at least 1 of the 1st 3 ACC games without him. It's widely felt that we are top 3 in the ACC along with Duke & NC State. I love it...

Update 11:01 p.m. Sunday: Though all were considered longshots to leave, a source within the Miami football program confirmed all three players will not declare for the NFL draft.
Seantrel Henderson, Curtis Porter and Brandon Linder have an 11 a.m. Monday news conference to announce their decisions regarding the NFL draft.
Great news for our UM!

First time ever 'Canes are 3-0 in the ACC. Nice win by the 'Canes hoops team. Boy there is a big difference between a Team coached by Coach L and a team coached by Haith. Miami actually looks like a team out there versus street ball from Haith.
Don't stop now boys...

@ Anybody that can answer this, since I've been away from home for a minute and am out of the loop. How long are the canes leased in at Dolphins stadium for and what would be the ramnifications of them breaking lease early? My next question is if that stadium built for the triple A baseball team, built to accomodate football? U know ain't nobody going to go see those kids play that much and if the city got swindled of all that money might as well use it as much as possible. Thoughts?

I think it was a 30 year lease..idk anything about the penalty for leaving early. I do not think the Marlins stadium can be used for football..even if it could, Id rather stay at Sun-Life

Matthew Thomas visiting Miami this weekend instead of USC per Canesport headlines. GREAT sign.

Figured it'd hide the small crowds a little better instead of being obvious with Sun-Life. Man that pisses me off. I remember Herbstreit and the rest of those ESPN tools/douchebags clowning on us for that. Oh well just a thought. This weekends gonna be crucial and the shiznit now that Big 6 is rollin through.

Just read that Garrison Lassiter will walk-on at Miami as a QB. Supposedly graduated in 2008 and went straight to Yankees farm system.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | January 14, 2013 at 09:20 AM
maybe Gray Crow will declare for the NFL today and six will be his agent?
Posted by: TJL | January 14, 2013 at 09:36 AM
If I recall the lease was for 25 years in 2008.
Marlins have said that the baseball stadium can be changed to fit soccer and I believe football as well. Manny had an article about it a few months ago I'll see if I can find it.

If this is the case, we must be missing out on Coley.
I've said from the beginning if we don't get Coley, we'll be hot on Cunningham's trail. We quit persuing Cunningham because we had AJL. Once he fell to grades, we got on Coley.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | January 14, 2013 at 09:49 AM
In other news: HUGE that the 3 are staying at UM! Smart young men too.
Even Seantrel who got graded at 3rd to 5th rounder. Smart, smart move coming back to better themselves and their draft grade.

Mirimar Sports - Recruiting Update: Miami LB Coach Michael Barrow is on campus at Miramar to meet with Jermaine Grace.

We all figured he'd switch, but getting 6 on campus is big. Probably won't get any commitments over the weekend, but I think a few players come out of the visit knowing where they're headed.

Also..Coley may still have issues..if I remember correctly he tried to commit a while back, but Miami didn't accept it..I could be wrong though..Cunningham has the grades for sure..but that doesnt mean Rivals is right lol

Thanks for clarifying cane 13. The only reason I was wondering that out loud was cause if we average 30 to 40k a game and the seating cap is around that number it gives off a better atmosphere and better impression that there aren't as much empty seats when we play , especially the scrubs. The stadium is nice from what a couple of people back home were telling me. And it's not a matter of supporting that pig Loria but a nice stadium to play in wouldn't hurt the program. If they renovated Sun-Life to where it looked better than it does right now that'd be alright too.

That boy Stan puttin in work recruiting for us, lol. He in 6 ear via twitter. What's the difference talent wise between Coley and Cunningham? I really haven't watched much clips on JC. I was hopin we definitely got 6, Collins, Bryant (at this point his antics have made me sour on him and wouldn't care if he signed with fswho) and Coley just to prove to college football that we own our yard and ain't going be letting teams come down and take our kids. A statement of sorts, just my view tho. Is Coley's issues character as well as grades? Hey Ohio at the end of the day, do u think Bostwick's grades will be straight enough for him to sign with the canes?

UMike...former UM QB Cook is a perfect example. He ended up being a seldom used TE and the primary PUNTER at Rice.

I haven't seen Coley, but did see a few of Cunninghams games on TV. He is a legit 4-Star player imo..I feel the same with Bryant, he is becoming an attention whore..but we do need some quality DT's

Sometimes, as they say, the only way out of hell is through it.
The University of Miami’s pending NCAA saga has officially dragged on for nearly two years — more if you count former Hurricanes booster/convicted Ponzi-schemer Nevin Shapiro’s first revelations in August 2010 about planning to author a “tell-all’’ book detailing alleged rampant NCAA violations by UM athletes and coaches.

Nevin writing a book? Unless 100% the profits go back to the people he destroyed, I will definitely not buy anything that piece of shat does.
Anyway im happy the three came back. I am telling you this presser was to hype up recruits to say we staying now come get on this cane train and lets ride baby! Number 6 coming up!

Off to a good start so far, even though the news on the 3 was not really surprising. Next up, UM men's hoops gets ranked. Women's hoops won't be any more, and my preidcition si that we hear that Clint Hurtt and one other have Show Cause penalties proposed. All happening today. :)
