What would U say if I told U Keith Bryant is actually not eccentric, has been trolling FSU and the rest of the country, and is a silent commit to Canes and has been for a while?

Believe it or not, it's actually possible lol

UMike

I actually do not care about Bryant at this point..Im starting to wonder how he will be once on campus and I dont like the feeling lol

Texcane

I'll believe it when the ink dries on that kid

Ohio_Cane

Canes may be making a late run at Eddie Jackson, just FYI

Oh, I'm not saying it's a fact, just saying it's completely possible. Agree tho, I'll believe it when Carroll announces his LOI is faxed in and logged.

UMike

Even if Bryant signs with Miami..I still question his "look at me" attitude

UpNorthCane27

Dammit Ohio i cnt find you the link but i keep reading it on messageboards for both canes and hogs. Once I do find it I will post it for everyone to see.

UMike

The whole Bryant thing just rubs me the wrong way. At first he was a solid Miami commit and wasn't yet nationally known or sought after. Next thing you know the offers start rolling in and this kid falls in love with the attention. They he de-committs (a term I never understood) shows up everywhere wearing different schools colors, ask for "love" on Twitter from 10 different fan bases....and JUST IN CASE someone didnt see a comment about him, he re-tweets them all. I kinda lost respect for the kid, and really his parents. I would NEVER allow my child to do this. If you want to go through the process to make an informed decision that is great, but committing, decommitting, asking for "love" is all an act and I cant stand it.

Also..this whole "de-committ" things is only going to get worse with the new recruiting rules.

UMike

i saw this on a board..

"Man everyone that says Alex Collins staying cuz "momma knows best" is WRONG. The kid don't live with his mom and on top of that he don't have a father around. He lives with his coach and he basically adopted him. This is not the 1st kid that he mentors in this manner. If he comes great, but stop acting like it's just his Coach."

Maybe he is LIKE an adopted father. I still think dude is looking for a handout

UpNorthCane27

yea thats one of the thigns i read about the coach and alex Umike good find...

Regarding Bryant, who cares what his attitude is with the recruiting process. The ONLY thing that matters is what type of work ethic he has. If he brings the same attitude he has on his recruiting trips to Miami, but busts his a** in the weight room and the classroom, then I am all for it! If he feels like things should be given to him and not earned, then I personally do not want the kid, but that is not up to me to decide. I will leave that decision to the individuals who have recruited him and spoken with his coaches, strength and conditioning coaches, and teammates. I think they have a feel for what this kid can bring, and if they are still recruiting him hard, then all signs must point to him being the right type of fit for both the University and the football program. I can understand peoples personal dislike for the way he is handling all of this, I share your opinions but I will give the kid the benefit of the doubt.

As far as Coley goes, I know someone mentioned him "bringing in that spread crap" to be honest, who cares if we run 22 (2RB 2 TE) or 0 (empty), as long as we win. I know that you would like to see Miami stay with the traditional offense, but unless you are sleeping in a cave, the game is changing, and being reluctant to change would not be in our best interest. For those of you that can remember, it was Mr. Schnelleberger who brought in a "passing offense." and helped revolutionize college football. I am not saying that we need to go 5 wide and Texas AM style, but being able to incorporate some of that into our game plan would be nice. I hope that Mr. Coley brings a precision type of offense that is very efficient and puts our players in a position to succeed, we need to get ourselves into 3rd and shorts and really maintain the emphasis on NO TURNOVERS! However he choses to do that does not matter to me, and as long as at the end of the day the scoreboard shows that WE have more points than our opponent I will be VERY HAPPY. He should have a good core to start with (Duke, Morris, Dorset, Lewis, and the O line)

PS - Does anyone have any updates on Lewis? That kid is going to be special and I really hope his rehab is going great.

UpNorthCane27

V Fly def i dont mind spreading 5 wideouts here and there but staying with a pro style offense will give us that recruiting perk where QBs see that the transition from college to pros is easier for them. Run the offense like bill bellichick does use a variety of formations and using tightends, 2rbs, 3 tightends, etc.

UMike

V Fly...I agree with you on Bryant and IF he works ethic is there great, I just dont like how he has handled himself since getting some attention. Obviously I do not know him personally, but I dont like what I am able to read and see.

UMike

I also agree with the offense. I dont care, just score so we can win lol..and use the weapons we have wisely.

TLuv

Regarding the offense....

Kevin Olsen's father said, "He said he's glad to be on board, glad to be working with Al, said he wants to continue to get to know Kevin because we stopped talking to FSU in May," Chris Olsen said. "We didn't really talk about the offense, but it'll be some type of pro style offense."

V Fly

Up North - Exactly - it all depends on the weapons that we have.

The Dude

Kenyon,

Everyone is juicing. Everyone is. Everyone.

I actually question how serious athletes are about their sport if they are NOT juicing. They give you a huge ability to recover from injury. They make your muscles more powerful. There are very few health risks these days. PEDs are amazing science.

UpNorthCane27

Where can i get some PEDS !!!!!

kenyon19ypr

I know what PEDs do haha I'm happy to report I'm eating my words! I wasn't sure about what it all entailed but I figured I'd get the original link out there for anyone interested. I get to take it all back though haha. I guess I beed to throw a winky face on the end of every post hahaha http://sbn.to/1157y83

UMike

If any of Miami players were juicing I sure as hell cant tell lol

True that.
And even when JJ was HC, it can be argued that we're BEHIND the offensive curve then. It's no accident that Erickson won 2 NCs running that "1-Back Spread".

The 40-year-old Lazor has been the Cavaliers' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach the past three seasons.

Predictions for different types of fans on NSD:

Fan who doesn't follow recruiting much if at all: "WOW, HOW DID GOLDEN PULL THAT OFF!!"

Fan who follows recruiting a decent amount: "I DON'T CARE THAT WE'RE A TOP 10 RECRUITING CLASS...WHY DID WE NOT GET XXXX PLAYER?@?!?!??"

Fan who follows recruiting consistently: "Ya, that's about right. GOLDEN IS THE MAN!"

orange 'n green in the vein

Dude, even if that's true, and I don't think everyone is on PED's, a very large majority, probably, but not every single athlete in the country, they should all be banned for life from making money playing any sports. Sports shouldn't even be allowed to be broadcast if what you're saying is true, we should just watch the exciting competition of scientist devising better roids than the rest of their lab chemist peers.

Except that's f'ing boring and nobody wants to watch a bunch of eggheads brew hormones for jocks to take, now do they? Guys like Lance Armstrong, who I wish would fall off his bike in the middle of a Daytona 500 for the roid rage BS he pulled on a real American hero like Greg LeMond, amongst everything else, completely render true athletic accomplishment a moot point just by tainting the competitive pool by virtue of their unscrupulous lack of ethics and faith in their own abilities without the help of a better artificial performance boost. The arteries of their heart can't harden fast enough to induce a fatal coronary for me.

Now, if you're a private citizen who for personal, not competitive and profit driven gain motivated, reasons wants to roll the dice with the fallout from taking something to enhance your physical recovery or performance in the gym, it's none of my business, but don't bring that tainted crap to the field of play because I don't care how ingenious your scientist is at helping you avoid detection as a scumbag cheater.

CoCane

If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying. JUST DON'T GET CAUGHT.

Our society was built with cheating. I don't see the point in limiting the "no cheating" moral standard to just sports. Everyone in everything is looking for a competitive advantage. If you're not. You're probably not the best & is complaining about the best not playing fair. Every battle is won & lost before it begins. BECAUSE SOMEONE CHEATING & GAINED AN "UNFAIR" ADVANTAGE. But... All is fair in love & war.

Every once in a while God blesses someone like Deon Sanders or Bo Jackson.

DeployedDiehardCane

Have a weird gut feeling that AC's coach is gonna have a major part in screwing us out of his commitment come NSD. Hope I'm wrong.

Ohio_Cane

Deployed, AC seems like a really intelligent kid with a good head on his shoulders. I think he'll make an unbiased and well informed decision, honestly.

Still think he's a Cane, regardless of what others are saying about Arkansas.

DeployedDiehardCane

Yeah, that he does. I know I'll sound bias here but honestly coming to Miami has more benefits overall that Arkansas. Pipeline to NFL and great academics. All them pig people talk about is stadiums, fans, facilities but no mention of academics. At the end of the day he'll be choosing which school to play football for but when that's over a Miami education will look so much better than an Arkansas one, saying that respectfully.

Schweaty Balls

Couldn't agree more. The fact that the lying, cheating sack of %$#% Alex Rodriguez still has his name on the Miami baseball stadium is embarrassing. There is not a bigger cheater in baseball than Aroid. The first thing you see when you walk in is that guys name. The whole stadium should be named after Ron Frazer, he did more for Miami baseball than Aroid ever did or will do, I do not care how many millions he donates.

I agree. As far as PEDs go, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. As for Armstrong - I like the fact that he only admitted to the doping for the years outside of the statute of limitations. What a guy

Schweaty Balls

I was going to root for Ray Lewis to go out a winner but after reading Joe Flacco's comments earlier today, I now hope SF wins.

CGNC

Flacco used a poor word choice. If the Ravens win Ed Reed finally gets a ring. If the 49ers win, Gore does. I am fine either way

pbcfrcane13

Umm why do people care about peds everybody is doing....pain medication like to toradol is a peds if helps the players numb pain to play....without it they wouldn't be able to play enhancing their performance. So we scream don't take roids but get addicted to pain pills and get your ads on the field.....really

Not referring to the words really, don't care about that at all, but the fact that he dissed NY and playing the SB outside. What a candy a$$! I was neutral either way until that comment.

The spread is the new wave and will be here for a while until D-Coordinators can figure out how to stop it on a consistent basis. Pro-style QB's are getting harder to find. Another thing with the spread, is you don't have to be a great passer to run that offense, just a good athlete, well smart too! I think with all the speed down south, it would be an easy transition for us to go to the spread. It's not like we've been a pipe line to the pros with pro-style QB's lately.
My latest odds on to "DA U":
Bryant, Thomas, Collins 50/50. We desperately need all 3. Yeah Bryant is playing this recruiting thing like he's on broadway but he has the size we need and can play right away. All 3 can play right away, even though Thomas needs to add weight.
Bostwick, Kirkland & Grace 80/20. Grace, I was sold on but I don't know what it is about these dudes wanting to go to the Ville. Grace will need to add weight and would probably red-shirt.
Coley, although would be a great addition, WR is not a high priority but I got to believe it's us over FSU, by a nose.
Edwards, don't know if the latest trouble he is in will affect anything but once we get him here, he's ours. We can say all day we want him as a TB but in reality after 2 years he's probably going to be about 230 and will likely end up at FB. It does make me a little queezy, that we are going after Edwards, so hard. Maybe Golden ain't feeling the vibe on Collins. Let the shuffling begin. Except for Collins, Grace & Bostwick, the rest comes down to us and FSU. It's time to pull the thorn out our side and let them feel the sting! If by some miracle we can get them all, look out! Regardless of who we get, our defensive problems will still remain.I can't see any one freshmen, that will come in and make us elite. We will be better but how good, it all depends on our hapless De-Line improving.

Tonycane

When the day comes that the nfl and college football start testing for HGH, you are going to see a remarkably different game. And perhaps less concussions as well, as the average player weight will start to decrease.

UMike

I dont mind the actually game be played in NY, but I do think it effects all the lead-up activities before the game. Not sure the community/fans would really get to enjoy it as much IF the wealthy was to bad.

Its 50's here today and the sun is out in Manhattan, and may even make it to 60 tomorrow. It would be fun for Super Bowl week in the city. The parties would be sick!
