This is a public service announcement to all college football coaches.
Here is an emergency warning: Be afraid. Be very, very afraid.
There is a frightening scenario coming to a town near you and very soon. The three-headed monster that now inhabits Coral Gables will definitely destroy you and your team before you can react.
These men are not just college coaches, they are the best of the best when it comes to recruiting. Everyone who knows college football acknowledges this. All of the other college coaches around them fear this.
So here we go with one of the best of the best:
James Coley, who served the last three seasons as offensive coordinator at Florida State, is in his first season as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Hurricanes. He joined Al Golden's staff on Jan. 24, 2013. Coley spent the previous five seasons in Tallahassee on Jimbo Fisher’s staff – all five as tight ends coach and the last three as the offensive coordinator.
As the recruiting coordinator at Florida State in 2008 and 2009, he was instrumental in the Seminoles landing back-to-back Top 10 signing classes and was also named the ACC’s top recruiter in 2010 by ESPN.com.
He spent two seasons as an offensive assistant with the Miami Dolphins under Nick Saban. While with the Dolphins, Coley worked with running backs Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown when the duo boasted the NFL’s seventh-best rushing attack.
Coley’s college coaching career began as a graduate assistant at LSU on offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher’s staff in 2003 and 2004. The Tigers won the 2003 National Championship and played in the 2004 Capital One Bowl.
Coley spent six years as a high school football coach in Miami from 1997-2002, first as quarterbacks coach from 1997-99 at Miami Senior HS, where he worked with former Hurricanes stars and current NFL standouts Andre Johnson and Roscoe Parrish.
seriously. I haven't seen that anywhere.

Ugh, that got me going for a second too.
Some other "breaking news" that I imagine might come from "DRAPER":
1) Al Golden discovers he has unused year of eligibility, will sign with Alabama
2) Duke Johnson to challenge NFL draft requirements, will leave immediately.
3) Connor Barth cloning chambers unearthed in North Carolina during NCAA investigation.
4) Donna Shalala to be named WR coach
5) Terry Porter throws another yellow flag, this time 10 years late, declaring that Ohio State engaged in excessive celebration after stopping Miami on fourth down. Ken Dorsey and the rest of 2002 Miami Hurricanes to reassemble next week to resume 2OT of national championship game.

Posted by: 86Cane | January 26, 2013 at 08:07 PM
Went to Animal Kingdom at Disney for the first time. Perfect day weather wise and had a great time with Mrs. 86. But U will NEVER guess what I got Donald Duck to do!

Wonder what team is hotter, UM women's golf or UM women's tennis?
The University of Miami women’s golf team opens its 2013 spring slate Monday at the inaugural Florida Challenge, a one-day, 36-hole shooting featuring five of Florida’s top programs.
Miami’s lone January event will be played at the par-72, 6,050-yard Quarry Course at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, located about 80 miles northwest of Orlando.
The Canes, having recently finished a slew of individual offseason competitions, will be looking to earn state bragging rights as they compete against four in-state rivals – Florida, Florida State, UCF and host USF.

The ninth-ranked University of Miami women’s tennis team secured its spot in the ITA National Team Indoors, with its 4-3 victory over No. 35 Arizona State Saturday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
The Hurricanes’ newest member, Clementina Riobueno, battled back from a 4-1 third-set deficit to seal her team’s victory over a feisty Sun Devil squad. In the process, Riobueno and the Canes moved to 4-0 on the season and will head to Charlottesville, Va., Feb. 8-11 to participate in the ITA National Indoor Tournament.
“This was a big step for our program,” said UM head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews. “We’ll take this momentum moving forward.”

Did you and Mrs 86 go on the Dinosaur ride? My kids and I went on it 7 times on our trip.
Posted by: Tonycane | January 26, 2013 at 09:14 PM
I can guess what Donald Duck did. Go Canes, beat FSU!
Posted by: The Dude | January 26, 2013 at 09:36 PM
Tony...YUP, sure did, just once but it was lots of fun. Living in Central Florida we have been to Disney more than most but never to Animal Kingdom. Now we can cross it off our bucket list.
If U are a FL resident and like the whole Disney thing and are a AAA member they have a 3-day pass for $119 and a 4 day pass for $129 that is good now through June 30. Now that's a DEAL!
Only blackout dates are two weeks around Spring Break which U don't wanna be there then anyways (too crowded and long lines). January, February and March are the best times to go: smaller crowds, no lines and great weather.

Stop believing trolls. Sandland is enrolled and EJ is still on the team.
Posting from my poker game so will be sparingly

Malik Price-Martin is a great get for the basketball team. Checking some of his videos he seems to have a lot of versatility to his game which should fit into what "The Pimp" is doing. If anyone has any videos of him I would love some links. South Florida puts out some solid players every year in Basketball just take a look at some of the rosters for top 25 teams and with the way Larranga coaches we should have a strong core for a few years, Just need to ensure we get some difference makers to get deep into the Tourney.

I blocked the IP Addy of DR****. He has been on under lots of names as a troll.
Now, off to church and to pray for those poor lost souls who would rather spend time trolling another teams blog than doing something productive with their time and positive with their lives.

As a wiry, tow-headed 10-year-old, Kevin Olsen would occasionally toss a football back and forth with his big brother, Greg — now a prominent NFL tight end with the Carolina Panthers — during visits at University of Miami’s Greentree Practice Field.
When he was 12, Kevin, who by then had shot up to 5-3 as a quarterback for the Wayne, N.J., Police Athletic League, was with Greg in Miami Beach when he was selected late in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears in spring 2007.
“I’m really proud of him,” young Kevin said of Greg just days before that draft. “He never gives up, and every day he went out and tried his hardest. He can run. He can catch. He can do it all. Watching him get drafted is going to be really cool.”
