If nothing else, ESPN's headline should remind the U that they're still not respected in hoops yet and have to earn it with a strong ACC tnmt. showing.

So...I just got back from the Dali Museum in St. Pete. What did I miss?
Posted by: SOUP | March 09, 2013 at 06:25 PM
This is a great place to take a date or to pick up artsy chicks lol Dali was involved with secret squirrels for those who did not know, very interesting guy.

Dang, I keep forgetting I can't cut and paste here. What a pain.
I could make fun of the fast that an ESPN writer doesn't know proper grammar for just a few sentences, but that's irrelevant. This is the prevalent feeling out there, and the U needs to outplay Duke, or find a way to win the tnmt. if Duke is knocked out prior to a rematch. Anything less and the respect just won't be there.
Winning out could potentially pull up a #1 seed, but I'd suspect it'd more likely get us up to a #2 seed. It really depends on what happens with other teams. Obviously FU lost today, and so did KU. However, a home loss to a mediocre GT team really hurts at this point of the season.

Couldn't get it even with typing it in...the rest of the post is there. What the heck?
Try again, one last time(quote from ESPN):
Duke Of ACC
Miami had already won the ACC title. But Duke showed Saturday night why it's still conference royalty

I think using the less than and/or more than symbols prevent posts from coming in...as it worked this time, and that's the only thing I did differently, leaving 'em out.

Just like the Canes in the 80's you win and you fight...Lol...

NBA draft predition for Kenny Kadji anyone?
I say Kadji will be drafted in the early 3rd round. He will be on an NBA Roster for sure in 2013.
Posted by: Montreal-Cane | March 09, 2013 at 11:43 PM
I don't know if you're joking but there's only 2 rounds Montreal...

Congrats to the guys and Coach L. Without a doubt, the most fun i have had watching ay of the Canes sports programs over the last few years has been this years mens hoops squad.
Looking forward to see if the guys can get back the intensity they had earlier in the year and bring it to both tourneys.

Is Blake James up to terminating Jim Morris?
It's time.
Posted by: Dan | March 10, 2013 at 12:52 AM
Of course i was joking as you know there are only 60 picks CoCane and Kadji will be drafted (100% sure) mid 2nd round what do you think?
Canes will play next friday at noon in the ACC Tournament against the winner of thursday's game GT VS BC.

Dan this is the day JM should have been done at UM but the AD back then was eating too much corn and left a few months later like a rat leaving the boat and he became MR. Nebraska.

Who woulda thought that when we joined the ACC that we would win baseball and basketball conference titles before we did in football?

Congrats Canes!
Now on to the ACC tourney!

No. 24 Miami continued its weekend series with visiting Duke Saturday night at Alex Rodriguez Park, dropping its second straight matchup in the opening conference series by a final score of 9-2.
The Hurricanes struggled offensively against Blue Devils starter Drew Van Orden (1-1), who went six innings and allowed just three hits.
Miami starter Javi Salas (2-1) was pulled after 3.2 innings in his shortest stint of the season. Despite striking out a season-high five batters, the Coral Gables native was also charged with a season-high five runs, dropping his personal record to 2-1.
For the second straight night, Duke plated a run in the game's opening inning. Blue Devils infielder Andy Perez connected on a leadoff single off Salas, and later advanced to third on a stolen base and throwing error charged to catcher Alex San Juan. Salas nearly got out of the inning unharmed by striking out the next two batters, but a single up the middle from Chris Marconcini on a 1-2 count gave Duke a 1-0 lead.
Duke struck for three runs off Salas in the third on an RBI groundout from Jeff Kremer and RBI singles from Mike Rosenfeld and Matt Berezo. After the junior righthander was tagged for another run in the fourth on an RBI double from Kremer, sophomore Alexander Fernandez came on in relief with two outs in the inning, and promptly induced a groundout from Anthony D'Alessandro.
The fourth inning provided a scary moment for the Hurricanes (12-4, 0-2 ACC), as Kremer's double ricocheted on a sharp hop and hit junior third baseman Brad Fieger in the face. Sophomore Esteban Tresgallo replaced Fieger at third for the remainder of the night. After the game, head coach Jim Morris said Fieger's status for Sunday's game was in question.

Same here BEER.
For all the star gazers, here's an early aggregate ranking of all the 2013 signee classes to see who brought in the biggest boatload of highly touted players, I believe Steele uses six scouting service sources in his aggregate rankings for each player if I recall correctly?
The only thing I pay attention to is where UM ranks compared to the other ACC schools, so the good news is, more highly regarded talent than anybody else in the division, the bad news is they didn't pull out the big bucks to out-recruit deep pocketed FSU and Clemson in the conference. Of course, those two teams having successful seasons could have something to do with it while Al's churning out the barely .500 years too.
