No offense to the guy, but after his signing day predictions this year I was hoping O_C was going to say Sony was going to Arkansas.

Been watiing for this! Thanks, guys, can anyone go to the scrimmage?

J-Dub...I am going to the Naples scrimmage on 4/5 and the Sun Life scrimmage on 4/13, but not this one. The first scrimmage of Spring practice is the LEAST important of all.

ONE GOAL: NO INJURIES!

Kiss Sony Michel goodby

After your track record this year, I'm with OGV, I was hoping you'd say another school. Or just use a dartboard, you're bound to get more right through random chance. lol

I was around 70%. Find me 5 guys who did better lol.

The Arkansas one shouldn't count because his whole family thought he was coming to UM until he went on tv haha

Looks like a first round exit for Frank Haith.

The Dude

Thats the Frank Haith we all know and love.

The Dude

Whats wrong with the blog? The new article just came up for me. I could only see the last article.

orange 'n green in the vein

At least he kept it close last year if you're a Missouri fan/Brad Pitt.

Now the question how far past or short of the expected seeding round for UM will they go? They're seeded as a great eight elimination, so who thinks they make it that far, farther or shorter and who knocks them out, assuming you're not like me and don't have them beating Louisville by a point for the national championship?

OMFG! NEW MEXICO JUST DESTROYED MY BRACKET! I WANT TO JUMP THROUGH THE SCREEN & SLAP THE BLACK OFF OF SNELL & WILLIAMS! THOSE MUTHA FUKKAZ CHOKED LIKE DEEPTHROAT!!! DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harvard Returns To NCAA Tournament After Academic Scandal, Faces New Mexico

Anyone knows why Harvard didn't get NCAA sanctions???

orange 'n green in the vein

Because they suspended the players from school before the season for cheating Monty. No compromised eligibility athletes playing means no need to sanction anybody.

orange 'n green in the vein

10-5 on one bracket today Coke, OKST was the only loss that I have making it out of the first weekend so far. All my misses lost by double digits except NM.

12-3 on the other bracket and only Pitt picked to get to the 2nd weekend on that one but Gonzaga looks ripe for an early exit anyway.

WWIN

So do we take the post season ban in basketball now???? Lol

The last school to commit NCAA violations would be Harvard

They don't even have athletic scholarships. About the only advantage an athlete would get is slightly relaxed entrance requirements, and even then you're still talking about athletes that have extremely high academic performance that would get them into just about every school including some Ivys.

In defense of Ohio Cane a couple of kids flat out lied. He was not "off" in who he thought was coming here. AC flat out told our staff he was coming, we was lied to, Ohio got the same intel I got but the kids lied what can u do?, recruit better kids who Want to be Canes and do not have coaches who don't want them to be.

LB

As I stated before, it's mostly smoke and speculation until they actually sign.

There are very few Duke Johnsons and Standish Dobards.

SmatCane

Haith bounced in pathetic fashion... Everybody in UM nation got that one right on their bracket.

Old Skool

Just as well Duper wasn't hired as a WR coach if this is how he handles 17 year olds

I wouldn't mind having Him on the staff, maybe He could "slap" some sense into Eddie Johnson.

Miami Hurricanes’ Gray Crow battling for backup quarterback job

Hurricanes coach Al Golden said Thursday that Gray Crow has moved past Preston Dewey and is battling junior Ryan Williams for Miami’s backup quarterback job.

“Gray is a little bit ahead of Preston right now,” Golden said of the two redshirt freshmen. “So Gray is competing with Ryan. Stephen [ Morris] is clearly the No. 1, but Ryan and Gray are fighting for No. 2.”

Golden said he will get a look at all four of his quarterbacks in Saturday’s 10 a.m. scrimmage at Traz Powell Stadium.

The fifth quarterback on campus, freshman David Thompson, is on the baseball team and is not participating in spring practice.

Thompson missed the Canes’ past two baseball games because of soreness in his surgically repaired right shoulder, but Golden said he is not concerned about the injury or the dual-sport athlete’s ability to pick up the football playbook.

“David is really bright, and he will learn what he needs to learn,” Golden said.

LINEBACKER BATTLE

Senior Jimmy Gaines and sophomore Raphael Kirby are competing for the starting job at middle linebacker.

The Canes, who finished 82nd in the nation in points allowed last season, are looking for help on defense. They also finished 112th in rushing yards allowed, an area that falls under the jurisdiction of a middle linebacker.

Gaines, a 6-3, 235-pounder, has the advantage of experience, having started 14 games the past two years.

Kirby (6-0, 230 pounds) has yet to start a college game. But he might be the more high-end prospect considering that he was a four-star recruit out of Georgia and has put on 22 pounds since his arrival.

Gaines, who was a two-star recruit from Buffalo, N.Y., has earned praise for his football intelligence, a key factor for a middle linebacker.

“Jimmy rarely makes a mistake,” Canes defensive coordinator Mark D’Onofrio said. “He’s tough and continuing to get better. At [middle linebacker], you have to be a guy who is confident and can put out the calls quick.”

Golden called it a “great competition” and added that Kirby, who played outside linebacker in high school, could move back there if the need arises.

“But if he can [play the middle] and be the captain of the defense, we’d like to leave him there,” Golden said.

Golden said it was Kirby’s intelligence and confidence that made him a natural to play inside. Kirby is also stronger and more poised this year than last year, the coach said.

Let's go Canes Beat Pacific. CoCANE mane New Mexico screwed up my bracket too I concur with your statement and spit out my Coke Zero as well from laughter. That team went all Linda Lovelace on us.

orange 'n green in the vein

O_C, I dug this out this morning and 2/9 =/= 70% right buddy. I'm just saying . . .

" Alex Collins: Prediction: CANE =============================================== Gus Edwards: Prediction: CANE ============================================= Stacy Coley: Prediction: CANE ============================================= Denver Kirland: Prediction: CANE ============================================ Terrell Brooks: Prediction: CANE
============================================ Keith Bryant: Prediction: CANE ============================================= Jermaine Grace: Prediction: CANE =========================================== Matthew Thomas: Prediction: CANE ============================================= Rashard Robinson: Prediction: CANES

Commented Feb 4, 2013 on Eight And Oh My!"

Now I promise to let it drop for a while because I really do love what you bring to this blog ever single day and you're MVP material, which is why WWiN got you that fat contract extracted out of the CEO's hide.

Ohio_Cane

I got 3 there, but fair enough. I thought I had others on there I predicted. Guess I'm wrong.

Ohio_Cane

Alex Collins: Prediction: CANE =============================================== Gus Edwards: Prediction: CANE ============================================= Stacy Coley: Prediction: CANE =========================================== Jordan Cunningham: Prediction: Stanford ============================================= Denver Kirland: Prediction: CANE ============================================= Jaynard Bostwick: Prediction: Floriduh ============================================ Terrell Brooks: Prediction: CANE =========================================== Donta Wilkins: Prediction: UVA ============================================ Keith Bryant: Prediction: CANE ============================================= Jermaine Grace: Prediction: CANE =========================================== Matthew Thomas: Prediction: CANE ============================================= Rashard Robinson: Prediction: CANES

U left off my other predictions.

That's 5/12. Still not stunning, but looks a little better lol. 41% is better than the 22% U gave me haha

Ohio_Cane

Canes starters today vs Pacific: Larkin, Scott, McKinney-Jones, Kadji, Gamble.

orange 'n green in the vein

I was only concerned with those you predicted coming here O_C, that's why they got left off, who cares who goes elsewhere IMO, but you're right, I did get rid of the ones you predicted going elsewhere so I don't know if they where right or not.

Anyway, bottom line, I'm hoping you think Sony is on his way to University of Japan to play for the Haiku's football team, anywhere but Miami at this rate! LOL.

Ohio_Cane

Jorge Milian ‏@caneswatch 2m

Pacific has to be the shortest team UM has faced this season. Heights for Tigers' starting five: 6-4, 6-1, 6-0, 6-8, 6-6.

NCAA March Madness ‏@marchmadness

Warm ups are underway in Austin! @PacificMensBB wearing black and @CanesHoops shoes are glowing! #MarchMadness

Old Skool

Hopefully, the game will give the starters some rest and provide a chance to Reggie, Rion and company to get some extended minutes.
