Friday’s scrimmage will also feature a family friendly “Fan Zone” that features inflatables and a football toss. Sebastian the Ibis and the Miami cheerleaders will throw T-shirts and hand out posters to fans in attendance.
Miami’s annual Spring Game will conclude spring practice April 13 at Sun Life Stadium (3 p.m.) on ESPN3. Admission to all three spring scrimmages is free and open to the public. Head coach Al Golden and his Hurricanes squad opened their spring practice on March 2.
Per NCAA rules, NCAA Division I football programs may conduct a spring practice segment in which a maximum of 15 practice sessions may occur. The segment must be conducted over a span of 34 consecutive days, excluding institutional vacation periods and exam days.
Here is a 'Canes Camp update featuring Jethro Franklin and the UM DL:

OGV...I appreciate your perspective and many contributions here on the blog. But enough with the negativity already. It is really wearing thin, has been way overdone and is obviously starting to anger many here. I know U do it sometimes just to rile people up and draw them into the discussion but at this point we get it (ad nauseum).
Now let's move on to the positive side of life.
Thank U!
The Management

After Spring practice concludes next Saturday we are going to do a feature called "Raising Canes" about young children who are being raised as Canes fans.
If U have a child under 12 years of age and want to submit their picture wearing Canes gear for publishing here on the blog then email it to: [email protected]

Coach Franklin is a very good Coach.
I saw him at the Duke game (where although the 'Canes were playing well, until a let down in the 4 th quarter) he was Coaching the whole game. We could hear him pushing his guys to play hard.
When we needed a wakeup call he got his guys together and really got on them while they were on the bench. Challenging them to step up and close out the game.
Great leader and cut in the tradition of Coach G's guys who are serious about making the 'U' a very good team.
Go 'Canes

Where's there's smoke, there's Auburn.
and Mississippi, Alabama, LSU, Clemson ....
Some of these schools give new meaning to the term "friends with benefits" ... or "parents with benefits"

FYI, Pete Ariz reporting that along with his DL coach, Khairi Clark was accompanied by Najeh Davenport to UM campus yesterday.
He said Canes "would have to do something catastrophic to mess this one up".
Great news.

Also, I didn't know Najeh was on the Chaminade coaching staff. That's a big plus for us for any recruits from there.

OK, here it is: I have canceled my trip to Naples for the scrimmage for several reasons. The weather is still shaky at best, I just got home from two days away from home working in Cocoa Beach, I will be away three days for work next week and would have to drive 5 hours R/T for a two hour scrimmage that really doesn't count and also stay overnight in a hotel (SSS) just to go.
I can't do it, I'm too old and tired for this stuff. Hope U all understand.
There will be plenty of reports on line that we will post so U have plenty of 411 on what happened at the scrimmage. If anyone lives in the area or is going take photos and email them to me ASAP and I will post them on the blog.

Former NFL defensive back Eric Vance has been named the Miami Hurricanes’ Assistant Director of Football Operations, announced Thursday by head coach Al Golden.
Vance spent six seasons as the Director of Player Development with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While with the Bucs, he coordinated transition for all new player signees, assisted coaches with daily practice activities and game-day charting and served as the main liaison between players and the community relations department. He also developed and implemented “Buccaneer University”, which taught players financial education and skills for career transitions, while helping with degree completion and other off-field issues.
“We are extremely excited to announce today that Eric Vance joined The UFamily,” Golden said. “He brings with him a wealth of knowledge as a successful Division I student-athlete, a professional athlete, and as an educator.
“Eric is a perfect fit for our program as he exemplifies the core values we look for from our student-athletes,” Golden said. “Eric excelled at the highest level in academics, athletics and leadership while in college and made the successful transition from professional football to the workforce. Lastly, Eric will be able to share his experiences as both an NFL player and staff member with our student-athletes as he assists them in reaching all of their goals here at The University of Miami.”
