WR Lockhart and DE Williams are officially OFF of the team.

Lt. Philip Nolan ‏@TheStateOfTheU 5m

According to Canesport, Ricardo Williams and Robert Lockhart have been granted their release from Miami.

Lt. Philip Nolan ‏@TheStateOfTheU 4m

There had been rumors of Lockhart leaving for quite a while now. Looks like it's official.

For those wondering, yes that opens up two additional scholarship spots.

The way to look at the Bills QB's comments about the offensive learning difficulty is Dumbo has a ton of short pass plays and designed QB runs in the play book that he only calls about 15 of any given week. EJ, not being a QB who beats you with his preparation, barely could keep up but thanks to James was able to keep his head above the surface and capture that very important ACC conference championship that makes a very nice doorstop to any water-closet you may have on your campus. Now he's in a less intricate system of small variations to basic plays so it's easier for him to learn and he doesn't need James to help him differentiate all the little nuances of Dumbo's minute variations on the same bubble screen/zone read from shotgun basic play design.

I have never even heard of this new roster attrition player. That side of the football team remains a mess apart from Barrow and those under his direct oversight. How huge improvement is supposed to be attained with a middle of the defense that's a weak spot even before factoring in the poor game-planning and play calling, I have no clue but if you sell tickets to hear a coach claim otherwise in the spring it apparently has to be true because Stephen Morris was a freshman in 2011 when Al wished he could have red-shirted him, or something?

Like I said, total mess.

From the "Where to spend your $$$" category:

Tom Dienhart ‏@BTNTomDienhart 21m

The highest paid assistant at seven of the 12 #B1G schools is the defensive coordinator.

Tom Dienhart ‏@BTNTomDienhart 13m

The receivers coach is the lowest-paid on five #B1G staffs, most of any position.

New Rivals 100 came out today...

Interesting.

Stacy Coley is the rich man's Robert Lockhart. He'll vie for lots of playing time this year, IMO.

LB

Isaiah Wynn? That's a new one.

Ya, Canes offered him a week or so ago.

Good friends with Vincent Jackson

#24 - Dalvin Cook
#42 - Joseph Yearby

LMAO!

In the previous rankings, when Yearby was committed to FSU, he was rated a couple spots ABOVE Cook. Now that Yearby is a Cane he dropped well BELOW Cook.

Scout has Yearby at #25 overall and Cook at #71.

Scout has Yearby at #4 RB and Cook at #11 RB.

UMike

Ohhhh...now I get it!! SOUP is the all positive one while 86 is allowed to roam the negative parts lol

86Cane

UMike...shhhhhh not so LOUD!

The Herb has to chuckle everytime he sees where the Soupster, is giving the business to a negative Nelli. The Herb obviously, is nuetral to all this in house hand swatting but would like to interject On behalf on all those misfortunate ones who teeter totter on the edge of this blog:
1.The Herb likes Goldie
2.I have stated on here before that I'll give DeNo until mid Oct. to get the DEE straight. I have given him the benefit of the doubt up to this point, mainly because of lack of depth Of TALENT on that side of the ball. I see us as slightly better this year. I'm not a happy camper with what we have up front or LB but we all have to live with it until Goldie decides to go Defense shopping.
3.The offense will put some points on the board, it had better. If you like shootouts, this may be a fun season. Thank God our schedule is a little lighter this year.
4.The Herb would love to see us go to a 3-4 dee but since it's hard for us to get LB's and much less keep them, when we do get them, I'd say that is a moot point but I guess the same could be said about a 4-3, we can't seem to get DT's to come here, so how can we run it all the time? It's a puzzler for sure, that even has the Herb scratching, his now crome dome. At any rate, the Herb loves the "U" and will give props where props are due and they'll have to feel my wrath when they stink, either way it's love hate!

We all know Rivals is a joke, right? No one actually gives in to their rankings, and takes them at face value, right?

Tell me I'm right...

Ohio...without a doubt, U are correct!

Ohio- no doubt. They may be better than Scout. Or not. But all their rankings are ridiculous to me.

So what you're saying is that Lockhart was really the homeless man's Stacy Coley? Since he never played a down of significance, that comparison does nothing to me.

When new rankings are announced the recruiting sites need to be honest and label them accurately like this; "The new Rivals subscription base pacifying lists are out! Let's go see where the most popular subscription generating schools have their recruits ranked now to give the most positive feedback possible to their fans about their team's efforts before the next cycle of the loop gets released later this year and they have to make a decision about whether to renew their membership so they can read the next list we release telling them how awesome their verbal commitments are compared to the schools they don't like and whose fans don't subscribe in comparative greater numbers to our service!"

Just a slightly smaller mess than UM defense outside of Barrow's oversight.

86Cane

OGV...that is IT right there! LOL

Canesteeler

I have seen Flowers play several times and although he is a great athlete I do not believe he has the skills to be a D1 QB.

"We're just waiting to see what happens. It's a mile-wide tornado. It's still grinding out," said Mark Meyers, a spokesman for the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office. "We are currently on standby for tornado response. Whatever happens, we'll be ready to respond."

The strongest winds on earth — 302 mph — were recorded near Moore during a tornado May 3, 1999.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman had predicted a major outbreak of severe weather Monday in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

Just got off the Scout.com site and low and behold, Goldie has offered a combined whopping 34 DE's & DTs, ships and we are not really into the heat of recruiting. It looks like he finally knows what we know! Surely we can scoop at least 5 or 6 out of that number.

URBANA, Ill. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team holds the longest current streak of reaching the NCAA tournament quarterfinals at five straight seasons. However, the Canes were stopped on their quest for a team national title by the third-ranked Texas A&M Aggies, 4-0, on Sunday.
“I think [Texas A&M] played better in big moments,” said Miami head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews. “I think we started out a little rough in some spots and on a day like today, you can’t do that.”
“There is certain positions that you have to beat A&M at, if you want to beat them,” said Yaroshuk-Tews. “Starting with No. 3 doubles. We didn’t respond well to the different looks, the different paces they were giving us. In my opinion that is a must-win match and we just didn’t respond well… All-in-all, we could have played better tennis.”
Despite the loss it was a historic season for the Hurricanes. With four first-time collegiate players competing, Miami won its first ACC Tournament Championship and advanced to the national quarterfinals for the fifth consecutive season. No other women’s team can claim that feat.
When asked about Miami’s season, Yaroshuk-Tews said, “Looking back on the season, I think this group overachieved… for them to do what they have done and come as far as they have come, I’m proud of them. I’m proud of the season they’ve had.”
