FIRST . . . in the second hundred.

Ohio_Cane

Canes coaches at Wharton in Tampa this morning.

UMike

Good post on CIS..

positive recruiting trend

Something that pops out to me after reading recruiting articles is that a lot of these prospects say "Miami was my first offer". that is big for a couple reasons

1. Golden and Co. are identifying talent early unlike the past and are focusing on more than one class at a time
2. A lot of kids have a special place for the first school that offers him
3. Offering first creates good competition with other schools as it impacts their recruiting strategy
4. We aren't playing catch up with a lot of kids and are in it from the beginning

I don't know of anyone else we're recruiting there, so most likely.

UMike

Ohio..that is what I am thinking...there is ant other known D1 recruit at the school lol

UMike

there isn't**

UMike

Litton is the ONLY recruit listed for that school on Rivals..not even any 2-Star guys..so must be him lol

Which begs the question: Is this kid actually a lot better than scouts think?

He's obviously throwing to sub-par WR's.

Ohio_Cane

Canes coaches were at Palm Beach Central practice today too.

Linder doing 41 reps and no one says anything, that is some serious power at our guard spot. Also PD#4 just ran a 4.37 after pulling his hammy told me he will be running a 4.2 this summer.

I knew Dorsett was fast, but BL's 41 reps is impressive, considering the fact He has long arms.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Linder is showing Canes how you get drafted.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Golden has made the team stronger. Its funny because Swasey was here the whole time. Just goes to show how much a HC needs to be involved. Coker and Shannon gave players NO accountablilty in the weight room. I feel like next years team will be better and more talented than any we had under Shannon. They will be better organized than any of the last few of Cokers.

Ohio_Cane

Canes coaches at Village Academy in Delray Beach.

Man, they're everywhere today.

UMike

Ohio..did you see the tweet Carrol posted saying RIP to these bugs on the recruiting trail..and posted a pic of his windshield lol

Ohio_Cane

UMike, ya. Funny stuff.

He seems like a laid back goofball. Would be fun to play for, it seems.

UMike

Ohio..a few recruits have said that..he is a cool guy etc.

TonyCane

Umike, I hope that Jackson's Top 10 list comes with ancillary statistics, put together by Phil Steele.

86Cane

I'm over in Orlando today and will be going to the Hurricane Club event this evening.

We had a rep at the Tampa event last night who got a photo with Golden. BTW, I'll tell coach all U Canespacers said "hi".

86Cane

Ohio...as far as Typepad goes, who knows? Thanks for cleaning up the mess!

Terrance Sullivan

Lol OGV. Have a great time 86.

Just because Jennifer Love Hewitt is my dream girl, doesn't mean the Herb is going to end up with her!
Speaking of my man Swasey, it all depends what a coach wants I suppose, Randy liked low body fat & Quickness, which was good some years back but now it's more about the three Ess's, speed, size & strength.

Great idea, U got it!

"Linder doing 41 reps and no one says anything, that is some serious power at our guard spot."

WOW. Is there a listing of that available?

Old Skool

j.w.
You're right about the markets. That's why losing Maryland hurt. There went Baltimore and possibly Washington

UMike

Vincent Jackson just Tweeted.."Coach Saban just called with some good news"...probably gave him a price lol

UMike

Canes were at Park Vista working on 2014 S Marques Gayot a Louisville commit

j.w.

Old skool- true, hopefully Va Tech still delivers Washington, they say they do. Dude- I tried to say the East Coast plus Chicago was the market for the ACC :) Bear with me, I'll get it right eventually.

Ohio_Cane

From CIS:

Rico McGraw & Mike Sawyers

Just offered them both. Same high school as Corn Elder. Rico (Class of 2015) has offers from everyone and projects to be safety. Mike is a pretty highly rated 2014 DT/OG. Hopefully we get them on board.

Ohio_Cane

CASH at CIS:

Talked to a kid I know who played against both Rico & Sawyer & said they both are legit. Sawyer has quite the apparent reputation for playing with a very physical & nastiness. Ensworth is the top private school in the state & their boys are well coached. Very comparible to St Thomas Aquinas. Also kids from Ensworth don't have qualification issues.

Canesfan_1

I thought I saw this somewhere. Did they tell you something about Dorsett having a pulled hamstring?

Hassan

he tweaked his hammy a couple weeks ago but is fine now

UMike

TIFWIW..Vincent Jackson tweeted.."Alabama needs to stop playing and offer my brother Isaiah Wynn, we playing together in college man"...Wynn is a 3-Star guard...He also tweeted about trying to get everyone offers sooo lol

UMike

FROM CIS..

JUCO DT Julio Derosier offered...

Originally from Homestead, says he is getting compared to Sheldon Richardson

UMike

Miami visited and offered 4-Star NC athlete Johnathan Lloyd

TJL

I want them to offer Don Draper

Rams are reportedly moving former UM safety Ray Ray Armstrong to linebacker - a position some thought he was better suited for.

A federal judge in Miami on Friday denied a petition from former University of Miami basketball coach Frank Haith seeking to subpoena Bank of America employees to determine if they allowed unauthorized parties to access his checking account during the NCAA Nevin Shapiro investigation.

Haith, now at the University of Missouri, had filed the motion on Monday under Rule 27, which allows depositions in anticipation of a civil lawsuit. U.S. District Judge Robin Rosenbaum dismissed the petition, saying Haith did not have legal basis for seeking the information under Rule 27.

“The judge ruled that we couldn’t seek the information under Rule 27, but we could get all that information from the bank if we file a lawsuit,” said Haith’s attorney, Michael Buckner. “We plan to explore all his options, including, but not limited to, a lawsuit against Bank of America. The denial of the petition has nothing to do with the validity of Coach Haith’s claims. We still plan to find out who accessed his bank records.”

The petition stated that in October 2012, Haith and his wife, Pamela, became suspicious of a possible privacy breach when they requested copies of three checks and were told someone else had already requested them. The Haiths tried unsuccessfully to resolve the issue through repeated requests to the bank. If a Bank of America employee or agent permitted an unknown party to view or procure the records, it could be a violation of federal and state laws.

Haith had been asked by the NCAA to provide microfiche copies of three checks dated June 10, 2010. He had already provided photocopies of those checks, and other financial documents, in October 2011, but the NCAA wanted clearer images. Each check was for $3,200 and they were made out to his assistant coaches Jorge Fernandez, Jake Morton and Michael Schwartz. He says they were payments for their work at his camp. The NCAA suspects that money was used to pay back $10,000 to Shapiro that he says he had given Morton to help secure a recruit.

CaneRock

Frank Haith might sue Bank of America after a federal judge turned down his request to subpoena employees who may have given access to his account amid the Nevin Shapiro probe.

PS: Good for Haith, investigate the investigators.

In so much boredom, hilarity can be found;

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9259370/miami-marlins-fan-woes/

"I never gave it a thought," Conine said. "Obviously, you play off the energy of a bigger crowd. But it didn't affect me at all." Conine did remember one weird thing about Joe Robbie: In the emptiness, you could hear an individual heckler's voice with amazing clarity. It was like you and the heckler were at the same café and he was two tables over."

I'll now take my award for playing the key role in making the overrated TE pretending to be a QB for the Chokies do just that last year in the 15000 that showed up.
