Per Pete Ariz..
When James Coley made the move from Florida State to Miami a few months ago, his recruiting impact was felt almost immediately. The 40-year old offensive coordinator has made his presence felt in a major way in the search for a quarterback as well. From the looks of things, 2014 QB Brad Kaaya (6’4”, 215) of Chaminade High School in West Hills, California could be that 2nd quarterback the ‘Canes are looking for in this class. Kaaya described how the school from across the country discovered him.
“One of the ways Coach Coley found out about me was through the Under Armour combine with the reports and all that. He (Coley) told me personally that he was looking for a guy 6’3” or over who fit the style of play at Miami and I was one of the guys that met the criteria,” said Kaaya.
Miami was Kaaya’s first offer back in mid-March, which has left an impression on the gunslinger.
“I was constantly talking to Coach Coley before the offer came up and he was telling me that he wanted me to play for him. The offer came and it was a surprise to me, but it’s really good for Miami to be my first offer. It’s a school that I’ve always liked their style of play because it’s really enjoyable to watch on TV. I even remember going back to when I was little, the 2002 Rose Bowl with Dorsey at quarterback. It was just big for me and my family emotionally to get that offer.”
Since then, Coley and Kaaya have been in constant contact.
“Coach Coley reached out to me really early and I’ve gotten a really genuine vibe from both him and Coach Golden. I’m talking to Coach Coley every single day. Everything from him so far has been solid and straightforward.”
There doesn't seem to be much indecision from Kaaya on who leads for his services.
“Miami is without a doubt on top of my list. I’m planning on making a decision in the next month. June is when I want to make the commitment. ASU, UCLA, Stanford, and Oklahoma State are all schools I’ve liked and San Diego State is a school that has offered me and I would be able to see the field early.”
The physically-gifted quarterback from Cali feels like he has all the makings of a great one.
“I feel like I’m the best at making it happen and operating things. That doesn’t just mean being a quarterback and throwing it downfield and making reads, it’s moving the offense down the field, making sure everyone is in the right spot at the right time, making sure everyone’s on the same page, and making checks at the line.”
He plans on camping at Miami next month.
“I want to go June 1st because I heard a lot of big-time guys will be there and I want to bring some guys from my school too.”

I dont think the University School kids like Miami...lol
Jordan Scarlett update:
On 247sports:
“Of course it’s the home school, everybody dreams [of play there] and loves them,” he said of Miami. “UM, their coaches are really pushy. They recruit you one minute and then one minute they act very stupid with players. They really do.”

POSITIVE ALERT...
My daughter has always been a good B-C student..never D's or F's, but was never the hardcore student my oldest son is. Well she decided to change that and was awarded a "Most Improved Student" award and was presented the award on the field at the local minor league baseball game...very proud papa!

Nice, UMike!
Good day for the ACC- there really will be an ACC network. This is huge, even for us who live outside of the market, as I can't see anything on CSS right now. DirecTV will hopefully be one of the partners of this new venture.

So no CBS sports network but the revenue stream created from those population stats somebody posted on here has the potential to demand 2x's the SEC network? (Which is going to be as regional as it gets because the rest of the country is done listening to a bunch of also-rans pump up 'Bama so they feel better about losing to them.)
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | May 08, 2013 at 12:26 PM
I posted the population stats and our new contract with ESPN, people should pay attn, once we get more money pumped in we will be really able to upgrade our facilities. We start winning and get more fans and our recruiting will be picking who we want, not begging kids to come here.

Agreed, OGV and Hassan. The ACC market would include almost every major East Coast Time Zone (notable exceptions: Philadelphia, Baltimore, probably one-two more I'm forgetting), plus Chicago. 15 members now and you know they're thinking about #16. The obvious choices (based solely on market) would be Penn State (not happening), Temple (meh), or Villanova (not the best fit). That opens the door to one more team, just can't figure out who. I How much does U Conn regret that lawsuit when we left the ACC? :)

Coach Golden pointed out a few players as becoming men recently...Morris and Chick. Linder, Porter, and Seantrel all made the right choice in returning to school and presented a stat that 75% of underclass men that came out early this past year were drafted day 3. They now understand the "process" and what it means. Linder recently did 41 reps of 225. Malcolm Lewis has been cleared as of this past Monday. Herb Waters was pointed out as a player who has gotten much better since last year. Said TE group has been upgraded this year as well as WR (spoke about the injuries that hurt our WR core last year). Admitted the K State game was too much for our young team to handle that early and that he felt we were a couple plays away from going into 4th qtr w ND and being competitive. Really looking forward to moving past the previous self imposed bowl bans etc.

### Besides excluding testimony of Kyle Wright, the NCAA informed UM that it will toss the testimony of Brodie Waters, the No. 2 official at Nevin Shapiro’s former sports agency, because part of it may have resulted from Sean Allen’s excluded testimony. Waters’ interview wasn’t believed to be horribly damaging.

Ohio..I think it is starting to just become a lose term in which it doesn't mean one specific school. They could just mean it is their dream school because its close to South Beach and they play on TV etc..not necessarily because they love Miami..cause a lot of these kids will also call another team their dream school a couple weeks later lol...Hell, even Howard's mom said UGA was Tracy's dream school..Im sure he had a commit-table offer there lol
