Second-seeded Miami dropped its winners' bracket match-up with first-seeded Louisville Saturday at Jim Patterson Stadium, falling by a final score of 6-4 in Game Four of the Louisville Regional.
Facing a 1-0 deficit in the bottom of the seventh, the Cardinals (48-12) struck for six runs to capture a 6-1 lead. The Hurricanes (37-24) would not go quietly, however, responding with a three-run rally of their own to cut into the deficit. 6-4 was as close as they could get, however, as the Hurricanes set themselves up for a rematch with third-seeded Oklahoma State Sunday at noon.
"I'm proud of our guys. We played a full nine innings there," assistant coach Gino DiMare said. "I know we got down 6-1 and pretty much everybody in the park thought it was over except our guys. I was proud of the way we came back and had a chance to tie it up there."
The anticipated match-up between Miami's All-American lefthander Bryan Radziewski and Louisville's BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year Jeff Thompson was as impressive as expected, with both aces on top of their game in the early going. Radziewski registered seven strikeouts through the game's first five innings, while Thompson set down 12 in a row after allowing a second-inning double to Miami sophomore catcher Garrett Kennedy.
Radziewski (9-3), who ended the regular season with the third-lowest ERA of any pitcher in the conference, continued his highlight campaign with a strong performance Saturday. With the help of their junior ace, who threw 6.1 scoreless frames before Louisville's offense finally struck, the Hurricanes set a new program record for consecutive scoreless innings in the postseason (24.2), besting the previous mark set from 1980-81 (21.2).
"I thought [Radziewski] threw great," DiMare said. "We knew Louisville is a team that stands right on the plate. We were a little concerned about that, and I thought he did a good job."
"In the end, they did a better job. They scored more runs than us," DiMare said. "We have to be ready to play tomorrow."
The Hurricanes will return to Jim Patterson Stadium Sunday with an elimination game against Oklahoma State at noon. If the Hurricanes are able to defeat the Cowboys for the second straight game, they will have a rematch with Louisville at 4 p.m. Both of tomorrow's games will be televised live on ESPNU.
Second-seeded Miami will send sophomore lefthander Andrew Suarez (3-5, 3.71 ERA) to the mound in an elimination game with third-seeded Oklahoma State Sunday at noon. The Cowboys will start RHP Mark Robinette (5-1, 3.92) in the matchup, set to be carried live on ESPNU and ESPN3.
If the Hurricanes are able to conquer the Cowboys, whom they already defeated 7-0 in Game One of the Louisville Regional, they will move on to a rematch against first-seeded Louisville Sunday afternoon. First pitch for that contest, also set to be televised on ESPNU and ESPN3, is set for 4 p.m.
If necessary, Game Seven will take place Monday, June 3 at 7 p.m.
All remaining Regional games can also be heard live on WQAM 560, with Joe Zagacki on the call from Jim Patterson Stadium.

"Other than Arod, has a career ever plummeted as quickly as Wade's?
Posted by: BEERicane | June 01, 2013 at 11:44 PM"
The correct answer to this question is always JOE PATERNO. ARod isn't even in the same ballpark.

A-rod even with the drugs and arrogance is still considered to he a Hall of Fame baseball player.
Paterno could have won 1,000 games and to me he is still in america's Hall of Shame
Posted by: Hassan | June 02, 2013 at 04:46 AM
Career plummeted? Wade? Look guys he is obviously having a bad playoffs but anyone can see he is not physically right. He is trying to gut it out for the team but because of his injury he doesn't have his normal explosion. Its affecting his offense, but he is still playing solid defense. Also he had a solid regular season so to say he needs to retire is being a little short-sighted. Wade is only 31 yrs old so he should still have at least 2 or 3 years of productive basketball in him. Trust me he will come back strong

OGV great answer .

I know Im no expert..but when Ray Allen is going to the rim more often than Wade, and Bosh there is a problem lol...I just hope they win game 7 because I think this wont be such an issue against the Spurs.
Posted by: UMike | June 02, 2013 at 01:20 PM
Mike what is your source for those tidbits? Nothing in Clark's timeline about it.
They may or may not be true, but you shouldn't post stuff like that without attribution.

Mike - the stuff about Clark - either he deleted the tweet or it never existed
"Alin Edouard wanted to come to Al Golden Football Camp, but had to attend church this morning. Fathers a pastor."
sounds a lot better than:
"Edouard is also not at camp..went to Church instead"
Not that either is good, but one sounds a lot worse. Who knows having all
those QBs there might intimidate.

Canes...when I posted that stuff I was only on my phone and couldnt copy and paste the whole thing..was trying to just pass on some tid bits lol
Posted by: UMike | June 02, 2013 at 01:50 PM
I think it was deleted, or maybe he told someone that when asked.. Klye Pumariega knows his stuff..so I doubt is "never existed"

I'm skeptical about Clark. No other source.
Nash and Puma are in high school, btw. Great kids and Pumas stuff seems to be accurate, but bear that in mind. The judgement filter is not well developed when you're 17.
Posted by: Canesfan_1 | June 02, 2013 at 01:54 PM
I dont care that their in high school..they know the right people and are THERE at camps and games etc to ask these kids. Their also in regular contact with most recruits..they havent said anything I can remember that hasnt been true...either way you can be skeptical all you want..I didnt report it..I passed it on lol..doesnt matter to me if you believe it or not..I just pass on info from people who almost always have good/accurate info
Posted by: UMike | June 02, 2013 at 01:56 PM
Lets say Puma wrote Clark on Facbook and asked why he wasnt at the camp..and Clark answered that way..then there would be no other source lol...of course IDK if that happened..but I highly doubt he made it up

Mike - the stuff about Clark wasn't from Puma.
I also hate that they're letting Laz around recruits. That's just asking for trouble.

LB - couldn't agree more
Posted by: Canesfan_1 | June 02, 2013 at 02:01 PM
lol about Laz..Well it was good enough for Puma to post it..so he must of got it from someone he trusted..imo..I would think if someone was going to make it up it would be better that "I overslept" lol..again..just passing on info man..IDK much about Laz to be honest
Posted by: UMike | June 02, 2013 at 02:03 PM
It wasn't from Puma, Mike - read your own post - it was from some kid named "Nash"
Posted by: Canesfan_1 | June 02, 2013 at 02:05 PM

Miami eliminated from NCAA tournament.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Can't hit, can't win.
And in Sunday's case, it ended Miami's season. The Hurricanes couldn't muster the offense again as Oklahoma State eliminated UM from the NCAA regional, 7-1.
UM finished the season 37-25.

And just like that Golden tries to get Blake to help a school that should have been death penaltied into not playing football anymore recompense it's 'prestige' as a national program despite the fact that UM already has a game every other year in conference in the state in one of the two main population centers for maximum recruiting effect and the team he's attempting to schedule in question does not have more national championships in its history than UM. No points awarded for this, in fact many more than just several deducted. Here's the list Blake, don't bother scheduling out of conference games that aren't traditional rivals if a school isn't on this list;
Alabama
Notre Dame
Michigan
USC
Pittsburgh (now a conference game Blake! See how easy your job is getting already without you lifting a finger?)
Ohio State
Oklahoma
Minnesota
Army and Nebraska are tied with UM in all time titles, but neither of those games hold much appeal as a road trip or destination viewing so don't bother with either one until they win a title again.
