Empowering youth. Giving back to the community. Deserve Victory. These are just a few of the values of the University of Miami football program and the core of head coach Al Golden's "Deserve Victory with the Miami Hurricanes".
Come join the 2013 Miami Hurricanes football student-athletes and select staff members as they travel to Suniland and Charles Hadley parks in Miami, Betty T. Ferguson Park in Miami Gardens and Mitchell Moore Park in Pompano Beach to interact with the local youth. This interaction will include instruction on the basic fundamentals of football and the safety that is required to play the game. They will also be made aware of the importance of nutrition and the new academic policies recently adopted by the NCAA.
Each Deserve Victory! event will run two hours with UM players taking the participating youth through a series of football exercises from stretching and agility to position-specific drills to the basics of the game. The activities will conclude with an autograph and photo session.
A complete list of event dates is below. For more information of Deserve Victory! with the Miami Hurricanes, please contact Assistant Director of Football Operations Eric Vance at 305-284-6883.

Tebow is back with the stupid coach (McDaniels) that drafted him in the first round.

I will guarantee you Tebow will be cut by the time the season starts......he's a waste of a roster spot.

Rumor out there that my Hawks, will get Chris Paul and Dwight Howard......I think that's all they need now to compete with the big boyz.

I saw Perryman this spring, and he was an absolute beast. After 2 years of U-Tough, Perryman looks like an NFL-U linebacker. Now its time for him to play like one - and boy can this defense use it.

Actually they sent a message to all of their season ticket holders that they were going to pursue Howard and Paul which is a violation of league rules. I heard they are going to be fined severely for the mistake. With that said it would be nice to have a competitive Bball team here in the ATL.
On the Tebow front I think he can play TE or FB and have a great career. If he insists on playing QB then he's done.

The father of Florida State incoming freshman linebacker Matthew Thomas said Monday night that his son wants to attend USC.
"He made a decision for himself. It's USC," Billy Thomas said.
According to Billy Thomas, Matthew Thomas' mother said on signing day that she would not sign paperwork for him to attend USC but would for the Seminoles.
Matthew Thomas could not be reached. Billy said Matthew's mother -- whom he said he is not together with -- is out of the country.
A separate source said Matthew Thomas has not clearly told Florida State that he will not attend there, and that family conflict and outside influences are affecting the situation.
Thomas, 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, was rated as ESPN's top linebacker prospect this year and the No. 6 player overall.
If Thomas, a Florida native, were to enroll at USC and not receive a release from Florida State or the National Letter of Intent group, he could follow in the path of signee Eddie Vanderdoes, who recently switched from Notre Dame to UCLA.
Vanderdoes is giving up one of his four total years of playing eligibility and also sitting out his freshman year as penalty for breaking his commitment.
"No disrespect to Florida State but Matthew is willing to take the punishment if there is one," Billy Thomas said. "He's hoping Jimbo will let him go."

Tito doin work...
2016 receiver Sam Bruce Jr. was one of the many speedy and talented players at the Al Golden football camp on Sunday. Bruce shined along with some other prospects in the multiple receiver drills they were performing.
“It was a good experience, I had a good time out there competing with exceptional players. I got to meet all the coaches and the staff at the university of Miami, got a good chance to have a good conversation with the coaches.”
Bruce Jr. spent a lot of his time at the camp not only showing off his tremendous skills but also speaking with coaches Brennan Carroll, Paul Williams and Al Golden.
“They’re just all about coming to Miami, I like that. They were up front with what they wanted. I also spent a lot of my time with the receivers coach, coach Carroll. I got to build a really good relationship with him.”
The University school product had a great performance at the camp, which led to him landing an offer from the hometown hurricanes.
“It’s a school that I liked growing up. I was just really pleased with the effort I gave which landed me the offer.”
While Bruce Jr. didn’t win Camp MVP for receiver’s, he did win another significant award.
“I got the fastest man award, there’s some really fast players out there. I really didn’t plan on winning that but it felt great that I came out on top.”
The 5’8 160 pound receiver rated his camp experience a “10 out of 10”
“it was definitely a ten; I like the atmosphere, I like how it’s close to home and hope to look more into the school.”
Prior to offering Bruce Jr. had an already high interest in the hurricanes, now that they have offered the interest is increasing rapidly.
“They’ve moved up a lot , it’s really teeter-tottering between FSU and Miami right now. Luckily, I have three years to make a decision.”
Another aspect that catches the speedy receivers attention is Miami’s sports medicine program.
“Yeah, they have a great sports medicine program. I’m going to look into that, as well as a great sports broadcasting program.”

Pete Ariz doin work..
2014 Booker T. Washington CB Nigel Patten is no stranger to the University of Miami, as the rising senior has been on campus multiple times and has been to many games as well. On Sunday, the talented prospect took in the Al Golden Football Camp and was given a tour by the head coach himself.
“The experience was nice. Coach Golden showed me around the whole campus and the new facilities so it was nice. I saw a few guys like Chris Lammons and Tyre Brady. I know Tyre likes Miami a lot and it looks like Chris likes them too. Coach Golden wants me to commit,” said Patten.
What his Patten’s impression of the new Schwartz Center?
“That was my first time seeing the new building. It caught my eye because it shows Miami is more than just a small campus and they’re getting things on the right track with the football team and the school.”
Patten admits the Miami coaches have been on him heavily over the past few months.
“The coaches talk to me everyday and I’m the number one corner on their board. That’s all Coach Barrow and Coach Williams talk about with me. It means a lot because I never expected it and didn’t see it happening for myself.”
The two-sport star (track) does not have a solid decision date set yet, but is planning on discussing things soon.
“I said the summer, but I really don’t know for sure. I’m going to meet with Coach Ice and my dad and then I’ll pretty much go from there.”
The Booker T. corner has a busy summer ahead.
“I’m trying to get up to Tennessee. I’ll be at UCF, UF, and FSU.”
Patten lists having heavy interest in 5 schools right now: Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas Tech, Miami, and FSU

haha...
Matt Elam has called out Florida wide receivers coach Joker Phillips. No, not the Elam who was the most active defensive player last season and was selected in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft by the Baltimore Ravens.
Elam, a 4-star defensive tackle in the 2014 recruiting class (247Sports), has decided to share his feelings on the Gators coach via his Twitter account.
The first tweet should catch your attention:
Swear Im Done With Joker Phillips Haha Not To Be Rude Or Anything But I Cant Do It
— Matt Elam™ (@FballIsLife69) June 9, 2013
Considering Phillips is the one recruiting the young man, this isn't a terrific sign. If a player truly doesn't like the guy he is in contact with, the school might as well give up and move on to the next guy. However, Elam wasn't done with calling the first-year assistant coach out in front of his 3,000-plus Twitter followers.
Great Dude But I Just Feel Disrespected And I Still Like The School But Just Not Real High On Joker
— Matt Elam™ (@FballIsLife69) June 9, 2013
Disrespected? Did something happen that we should know about? If the nail wasn't in the coffin already, this is a clear sign Florida isn't too high on the defensive lineman's list at the moment. Sure, he made mention that he still likes the school, but players always end up picking the place where they feel most comfortable. Elam has made it perfectly clear that isn't the case with the Gators.
