LOL an OG? I know people are excited cuz we got a DT but I hope this dude isn't a stretch we need people that can play after redshirting one year, not projects that we hope can play in year 3 and 4..........

LB

As bad as we were last year, they need all of three things:

1. A basic understanding of the English language
2. A cheerful disposition
3. An intolerance for FSU and their ilk

Ohio_Cane

Tucker is a 2013 commit. Signs Monday and starts NOW. Will be great for ST this year if no redshirt

WELP!, besides Pitt, Alabama,OSU,PSU, and UMD have an interest in the kid:

TH: I heard you had a pretty impressive visitor recently as Mario Cristobal -- assistant head coach of the national champion University of Alabama Crimson Tide -- stopped by DePaul to inquire about you. Tell me about that.

CJ: Yes, he came to visit me, last week. And he was talking to my coach, telling him about their camp. He hit me up on Facebook and asked me if I was interested in Alabama, which I am. And he basically wants me to get out to the camp, work hard and see if I can get an offer from them.

Penn State, Ohio State and Maryland have also recently increased their recruiting attention of Jenkins, requesting he camp at their schools in an effort to earn their verbal scholarship offers.

Is Tucker doing the Santana Moss thing and coming on a track scholarship?

UMike

American Heritage running back and hurdler Walter Tucker visited the UM campus Wednesday, and has committed to play football and run track in Coral Gables.

Tucker, a senior who was committed to Clemson to run track, chose Miami over the ACC rival after it became apparent he wouldn't be playing football for the Tigers.

The six-foot, 200-pound Tucker shared the American Heritage backfield with Sony Michel, and that earned him interest from Texas, Wisconsin and Alabama. But Tucker's commitment to track scared many of the top teams away.

Tucker had been decided on Clemson, but there was some disconnect between the Tigers’ side and Tucker.

“Basically they just wanted me to run track and I wanted to play both. I wanted to switch my scholarship to football and then walk-on to the track team, but Clemson wasn’t really offering that. Then I spoke with Al Golden and he told me I could run track as long as I continued my work on the football field.”

Additionally...

It’s no secret that Tucker has football on top of his priorities.

“Football has always been my passion, but I love track too because it helps me with my flexibility and my speed.”

**Tucker runs the 110 M hurdles, 300 M hurdles, and 4x100 relay.

I think with this Jenkins get, we end up with Kiy Hester. They're best friends and we made Hester's top 7. They are (in no order):

For those wondering, I'd be willing to bet Tucker ends up a S or CB. So even tho he's a RB, I think this is a Defensive commit.

2 in one day. Not bad.

j.w.

Thanks for the info, Ohio, on Tucker. Just back from a vacation and was wondering about this kid.

Jacoby Briscoe transferring from UM...

herbieibis

Say it ain't so, we got another DT! The Herb is glad that the Golden one is listening and understands that it's go time with the defense. The Herb is of the opinion that we need at least 4 DT's, with 6 to 7 D-Linemen, in this recruiting cycle, now with things starting to look a little better at the DT spot it's time to focus a little bit on some LB's. Uh, we need at least 3 or 4 of those. For those of you that have mentioned the Herb would be delighted with this good news to day, well he is and he is holding his breath for the ever present decom.

UpNorthCane27

lol unbelievable we get a DT and lose a DT/OG smdh... I had high hopes for Briscoe too bad.

Ohio_Cane

UpNorth, he hasn't been a DT since HS. Was gonna be OG with Canes, and obviously, we're set there for years.

UpNorthCane27

yea that's true but I figured hey maybe we can use him as a dt again if he was one in highschool....

Ohio_Cane

2 commits in one day and it's quiet here?

Lol, where U at!?!

LB

If you read between the lines, the Briscoe departure wasn't unexpected.

Read that earlier. He looks clumsy in his tape. Would be better at DE with that size/speed?

If those are accurate measures;

TE.

Except UM has seven of those now.

Someone did say with how fast he's growing (up and out), he may be an OL project.

herbieibis

It's funny how just a couple of years ago, we were low on QB's, O-line & TE's and now we have them coming out of the wood work.
