4-Star LB Antonio Smothers is announcing tomorrow...I now expect Arizona. Hope I am wrong.
Posted by: UMike | July 31, 2013 at 01:16 PM
From a poster @ CIS regarding the Smothers article..
He is announcing tomorrow. Top 3 Miami, Arizona and KState. Has not visited KState, but he was just at Arizona last weekend. Article was very pro Arizona but it was written by one of their writers. He said it felt like home.
"First and foremost is the opportunity to play and if the situation is right for me," he said about what's going to factor into his decision. "Scheme wise how I'll fit in defensively, and also my credits and what transfers and what doesn't."

The ACC Coastal is one of the toughest divisions to project in 2013. Miami is considered a slight favorite by most, but Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and North Carolina aren’t far behind.
The Hurricanes are still searching for their first trip to the conference title game and haven’t recorded a season of double-digit wins since posting 11 victories in 2003.
Coach Al Golden seems to have Miami back on the right track, and the Hurricanes return 12 starters from last year’s 7-5 team. The cloud from the ongoing NCAA investigation still hangs over the program, but Miami should have a resolution on its penalties before kickoff on Aug. 30 against FAU.
There’s no question Miami’s offense should score plenty of points, but the defense is a major concern after allowing 30.5 points a game in 2012.
What will Miami's record at the end of the 2013 regular season? Athlon’s panel of experts debates:

It looks very luxurious but very sterile. Iit's impressive in terms of the luxuriousness and cost and the like, but it doesn't say football or toughness to me. I personally wouldn't go for it unless it was like a hotel lobby to stay a few days. It doesn't say football toughness to me.
But since it's Oregon, with zero football tradition, I understand why they do it and also they have Nike money to burn

If Golden expects AQM and Kamalu to get in, so do I. Golden didn't mention Bond, which signals he doesn't think he will pull it off

"Elite defensive end Mohammad has qualified academically for UM, his high school coach, Don Bosco's Greg Toal, said Tuesday. UM expects Mohammaed -- rated by rivals.com as the 49th incoming recruit in the country -- will contribute on defense this season."

ANOTHER STUPID GATOR Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper -- who is white -- is begging for forgiveness after a video surfaced showing the 25-year-old threatening to fight "every n**ger" at a country music concert.
The video was shot June 9 during a Kenny Chesney concert in Philadelphia ... where a sleeveless Cooper turned to the camera and says, "I will jump that fence and fight every n**ger here.”
Now, after the video, which first appeared on CrossingBroad.com, began making the rounds on various websites, Cooper has released a statement saying, "I am so ashamed and disgusted with myself. I want to apologize."
"I have been offensive. I have apologized to my coach, to Jeffrey Lurie, to Howie Roseman and to my teammates. I owe an apology to the fans and to this community. I am so ashamed, but there are no excuses. What I did was wrong and I will accept the consequences.”
The Eagles had high hopes for Cooper going into the 2013 season -- and was expected to be a starter when the season kicks off in September.
It's unclear if this video will change those plans ...

Roland Smith's Miami Central will be one of the team to beat this year with three great backs Yearby, Cook, Adams...Trevor Darling OT, Da'vante Phillips WR, Fredrick Jones DT and more...
I still think Dalvin Cook will be a Miami Hurricane.

Posted by: CaneRock | July 31, 2013 at 06:51 PM
Good point CaneRock. Town is irrelevant, just like tea in China.
Posted by: 4-Real | July 31, 2013 at 07:59 PM
I grew up in citrus county and I can tell you that racism runs rampant up there. I went back there in September and there were confederate flags still hanging. One even said" the south will rise again". I live in CA now and that trip home solved any home sick feelings I had. I'm not sure where Cooper went to hs but that is gator country up there and it is predominantly white and redneck like. Dude is an idiot, but it doesn't surprise me one bit.
Posted by: Canezitis | July 31, 2013 at 08:06 PM
Anybody keeping up with kids like Lane & Cook on Twitter should definitely make these kids aware of the Riley Cooper situation. They should know that this is typical behavior in $.e.c. country.

Don't be a hater.
#TownCane has visited and does like Bama and Stanford. And he also likes The U. His recruitment is admittedly wide open at this time. BUT we want him orange and green, NOT red and white.
Posted by: 86Cane | July 31, 2013 at 08:23 PM
I do NOT talk to ANY recruits via email, Twitter or Facebook. EVER.
I post here on the blog in an OPEN forum and IF they read it or hear about it here then that is fine.
AFTER they sign a LOI on NSD in February I will congratulate them on being a Cane here and on Twitter. That is as far as I go.
