DEROSIER WILL ARRIVE IN THE FALL
Julio Derosier, a former three-star defensive end out of Homestead High who played for College of the Sequoias in California last season and is expected to be a part of UM's incoming 2013 recruiting class, said by phone Friday he will not finish summer classes until July 31st and thus won't arrive in Coral Gables until the fall.
Derosier (6-6, 265 pounds) doesn't have a lot of football experience according to his former high school coach Bobby McCray, but has a lot of upside.
Derosier had 15 tackles for loss in five games in 2012, but missed part of the season with a foot injury. He missed all of his senior year at Homestead High with the same foot injury according to McCray and then sat out his freshman year in college. McCray said Derosier had just one college offer coming out of high school -- from Gardner-Webb.
"I went down to Coral Gables last week when he came down for his visit and saw him again," McCray said. "He's just a big kid with a motor that does whatever it takes to get better. He's going to help Miami."
Derosier, who is currently living in Texas with his brother and taking college courses there, said his focus right now is getting his undergraduate work out of the way so when he gets to UM he can focus just on his major. He will be classified at UM as a redshirt sophomore.
"I just want to take care of business so when the season starts I don't have all this pressure on me with those undergrad classes," he said. "But I'm also still working hard on my body. I'm preparing it for the next level."
UM's sports information staff said Derosier has signed a financial aid agreement/scholarship to attend the school.

That might be an indication of how the NCAA thinks the class action suit is progressing on behalf of all the college athletes who were compensated.

Opps that should be "who were never compensated" for the use of their names and or likeness. Of course, we're referring to non-SEC athletes

Butt-chump begging for mercy b4 week 2 beat down:
Muschamp praises Golden, likes in-state rivalries
Facebook
Twitter
By Michael Casagrande, South Florida Sun Sentinel
2:24 pm, July 16, 2013
And, we're underway with the major college football media days.
Kicking things off Tuesday in Hoover, Ala., was the SEC. First on the podium was Florida coach Will Muschamp. His Gators come to Miami on Week 2 for a noon game in Sun Life Stadium.
So Muschamp was asked about it.
"I think Al Golden's done an outstanding job at Miami — a team that should have played for the ACC championship last year," he said. "They're going through a tough time as far as those things are concerned, but through that time he's done an excellent job recruiting and signing good talent. He's a good football coach."
One can presume the "tough time" relates to the NCAA issue.
And what about the rivalry aspect?
"I do think it's important for the in-state schools to play each other if possible," Muschamp said. "It's good for everyone involved and I know it will be good for our state."

Everyhting in that article has already been stated numorious times by other articles, but it is just another article building the hype. I think this could be a test/ start at building a Heisman campaign.

Lets ponder:
Hesiman 2013/14 - QB Stephen Morris
Heisman 2014/15 - RB Duke Johnson

1982...we had some good times at The Ti with Ricky and his crew and the lovely Kelly. She worked for the ESPN ACC channel and now works for FSN sports and covers the Tampa Bay Rays. She is making waves, is a great person, very smart and will go far.

James Wilders #s are not so good. 600 yards...ok 5.8 per carry 11 TDs....how about in big games key downs....he's gotten in more trouble than he has done good. I am glad he did not come here....don't need him. He's a junior now, was supposed to be so big and bad and all that....has not shown so much...yet. Time will tell.
Johnny football...jees. Ok so he had a nice year....good college QB. Jesus Christ he is not. Hes a spoiled rich kid riding the wave. The Stones said Yesterday don't matter if its gone...lets focus on this year. We will see what the guy does.
I don't care if Morris gets a vote for the Heisman. Its a popularity contest so to speak. I want to win games, contend for ACC, beat the F##K out of Florida, knock some of their guys out with brutality, beat FSU and punk Wilders azz, get to a real bowl....not some lame .Com Sun or Alamo bowl. I want to raise the beast from the dead, and play like we can.... to hell with Doak Walker and John Heisman awards....they are not championships, merely pretty metal hardware to have dust on.

AMEN VA!!
Posted by: TJL | July 18, 2013 at 11:20 AM
Preach VA! I would ad that I do not want the team to give any of our own "fans" a reason to come to Canespace and take a computer dump.
I could care less what a Turd fan thinks of UM but when the team plays so poorly that UM fan is doing the Turd fan's bidding then that's where I get pizzed!
All signs point to 10-12 wins and a trip to the ACC CG this season (NCAA willing), let's hope it comes true!
Go 'canes!

Yes guys I just think these kids have their hearts and heads in the right place, the staff has really been patient through the storm, and they are going to come out and really make us proud. I see great effort, great teamwork and a lot of passion for the game. We are behind you guys!!!!

It's awesome how much positive info is floating around the web right now about UM! Seriously!!
I haven't seen this much hype since we recruited Jacory and the rest of the MNW kids. Let's hope they live up to the challenge!!
Also did you see the weight gain for Perryman? 30lbs!!! That's gonna stop a few RB's and QB's in their tracks!!
Go 'canes!

Listen up guys. One game at a time. Let's make a statement against FAU. No reason we shouldn't. Let's pitch a shutout and rest our starters in the 4th qtr.
Canes 48 FAU 0.

SEC makes me sick!!!!
The biggest storm is brewing down in South Florida... THE CANES ARE COMING!!!!
Posted by: UpNorthCane27 | July 18, 2013 at 04:25 PM
looks like we're ready for the season!
biggest improvement a team makes is after game one heading into game two. we'll see what we've got then. But for predictions on what I look for with FAU...
Offense - look for mistake, misques and some big plays. All expected. Get ahead early and avoid injuries.
Defense - If we're going to see improvement it better show up in a game like this. If FAU scores 25+ it going to be a very long season......
Special Teams - I think we'll see a few big returns, esp late in the game as our speed and conditioning comes more into play.
AG - needs to have them ready, this is a gimmie. Lose, and the vultures will be airborne....
Canes - 30-7.....

6-3 CANES WIN!!! OH WAIT THATS USF
Posted by: canezilla | July 18, 2013 at 05:07 PM
Making a statement vs FAU would be nice but is totally unnecessary.
Hopefully, we get the win (who cares by how many points) without giving anything away. Plain sets, plain Jane looks, nothing fancy, pure vanilla.
If they run up some yards, so what. People will complain, but I wont care, in fact I'll be glad we didn't show our best defense. Just give them basic fronts, and don't let Ufelony get any peeks at our hand.
Statement making will be optional, not necessary.
Posted by: Canesfan_1 | July 18, 2013 at 05:26 PM
CF1, the point is that we should be setting the tone against a team like FAU even if we stay vanilla. They shouldn't be able to hang with us at all.
