“There is no doubt in my mind that the ACC will be the strongest league in the nation this season and our conference schedule will be the most challenging in our program’s history,” said Coach Jim Larrañaga. “With Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame joining the ACC, we have added quality and depth to an already great basketball conference.”
Miami will also face North Carolina on ESPN2, and both Virginia Tech and Florida State on ESPNU, along with seven Regional Sports Network (RSN) and six ACC Network broadcasts.
“We will be playing seven of our 18 conference games against six previous national champions,” added Larrañaga. “Winning the ACC regular season and tournament championship will be far tougher than ever before for all 15 teams. We are excited to get the season started.”
The Canes, who played in the 2013 NCAA Sweet 16, will face six teams (eight games) that played in the NCAA Championship a year ago, and three teams (four games) that made an NIT appearance.
After opening the ACC portion of the schedule Dec. 8 against Virginia Tech, Miami hits the road for matchups against ACC newcomer Syracuse (Jan. 4) and North Carolina (Jan. 8). Syracuse, who played in the 2013 Final Four, ended the 2012-13 campaign No. 3 in the country and North Carolina made an appearance in the NCAA’s Third Round after finishing third in the ACC a season ago.
Over a 10-day stretch, Miami will have home battles with Florida State (Jan. 15), Duke (Jan. 22) and Syracuse (Jan. 25), along with a Jan. 18 matchup at Georgia Tech. Duke made an Elite Eight appearance in 2013 before finishing No. 5 nationally while Florida State ended sixth in the league.

I ate armadillo when I was in the YMCA Indian Guides. It tasted like nasty, "game-y" chicken. I eat a lot of different foods but I struggle to eat stuff that I killed or didn't buy in a market. Not sure what it is about wild game but I just don't eat it.

i was checking out some schedules and Louisville plays absolutely no one. They should be favorites in every game they play. Going in it looks like only Kentucky and Cincinnati can even line up.
If they run the table there will be a lot of teams on the outside looking in at the BCS. Strength of schedule probably not a big enough weighting to have them be bumped by a 1 loss team.

In-N-Out is awesome, but I like 5 guys just much for different reasons. If you do get an in n out burger, ask for animal style. Btw, they will never move that far east. Staying where they are is how they keep it fresh. Since I moved to Cali, I have missed Checkers and good bbq. There's a reason why most people are so thin out here: no good BBQ joints, at least that I've found.

Haha!
But that's true though, I've never heard about good BBQ joints out that way. But I will say, that the best burgers I ever had, were at the Florida City Flea Market as a kid.

Well since we're doing this today, I'm going to leave this here;

And just say that when I was a senior in college, this song was always on a mix CD that I would play in my dorm room while I watched the sunrise out the window with girl I was 'dating but not calling each other our boy/girlfriend' that I used to let in to the bar I door-tended at.
Plus, for a blog about The Pimp at UM, it's pretty relevant.

When you move to Cali, you trade BBQ for Mexican Food. Burritos at 4 in the morning. I love In-N-Out and Rubio's.
Posted by: The Dude | August 23, 2013 at 04:09 PM
5 guys isn't bad. Just doesn't compare to In-N=Out or Smashburger IMO.

Watching Inside College Football on CBSSports,
Ron Zook is the smartest pundit on the show:
Has the canes at #12 in his preseason poll, ahead of FSU at 13.

Actually had better Mexican when I lived in NC, but Rubio's ain't bad, just a lil pricey for fast Mexican food. I'd say you trade good BBQ for really good sushi. Never had it growing up in citrus county, but my wife got me hooked on it. Btw, my canes gear arrived yesterday and my wife and 5 mo old girl will be sporting it with me on game days. She might have to step out when we play floriduh though. Things might get crazy win or lose;). Hope we can get our starters out by early 3rd against fau to let our youngins get some experience and keep us fresh for some gatah. 1 more week fellas!

I've heard Shorty's in Miami is the bomb for ribs but I've never been there.
Here in Atlanta there are several great BBQ joints. Fat Matt's and Fox Bros. are my to favorites.

Ah, well if the Zooker says you're going to be one of the 12 best teams in the nation this year, you're guaranteed to be at least 62nd overall.
Anybody who doesn't realize the Zooker depressed turnout for Brock's comeback in the Orange Bowl game doesn't understand the innate mentality of fans of reptiles. Muschump, however, has the most embarrassing BCS bowl result in turds history, that's good for at least 30% jump in fan attendance for them over the Zooker's start to his 8-5 parade turned out a decade ago.
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | August 23, 2013 at 04:34 PM
My favorite Zook story is when he marched the team over to the frat house to pick a fight after a couple of his players got their azzes kicked at a party!
That school is like a real life Revenge of the Nerds!

That's why he's THE ZOOKER!
(That was probably the best one in my mind too. He was the first, "win the press conference by dazzling them with a high speed stream of BS to diminishing returns over three seasons," coach at the Big 3, so that was always good for amusement for me also, but the fraternity fight story was just the coup de grace.)

He does not stutter like that in real life. Unless he drinks a lot of no-carb beer. (Which is delicious I might add.)
Yes, picking D?No! as your LOF coach pick is the dictionary definition of, 'picking on a goof.'

NC, those things are good, they aren't bitter and gluten is concrete for your joints at best, so I'm not understanding the snobbery about them you've encountered anymore than I am all the LOF coach D?No! selections? Well, actually that's a lie, those selections are being couched from a point of optimistic wishing for a desired result, which is borderline magical thinking.
I never met a beer I wouldn't drink if that's all on tap, but Pabst Blue Ribbon = swill IMO, even though I've had more than my fair share every once in a while to my regret the next day! Can you believe there's hipsters trying to drink it ironically and make it cool these days Wally?

Brock Berlin gets a lot of credit for the comeback against UF in the OB, but UM's Co-MVP's that day was by far Ron Zook and his OC! It's not even close. If all they did in the 2nd half was run the ball and go 3 n out on every possession UF wins that game. They were up by like 24 I think at the half.
On a side not if Jimmy and his OC had Vinny hand off the ball in the Fiesta Bowl in the 2nd half I think we would have won that game ourselves.
Ball control is a funny thing from a fans perspective and from a coaches perspective on the field. The guy in the booth has to know when to run and when to throw to control the clock.
