Just remember, if an Amato is the replay official, if Miami does score a TD, it's a replay, if they don't score a TD but they really did, no review.
No bias at all. Just remember that.

The announcers are dogging Gus when he is stuck running behind the 2nd team.
Posted by: Sarasota 'cane | August 30, 2013 at 11:11 PM
Plus he's running the most predictable plays imaginable. Gus looks like a decent back. Nothing spectacular, but he doesn't have slow feet, so with that size he hits the whole pretty hard. Certainly, there's a big drop from Duke to everybody else, but the backups are all serviceable. (I think Dallas Crawford would be the #2 based solely on tonight's performances.)
Alex Figueroa made an impressive play.
Signs of improvement. Eez good.

FAU is a two win team this year. Toledo is much better than them.
And the Owls suspended their starting QB from last year? Which explains some things . . .

Grace looks like Vilma, thinker than I thought he would be.

Figs needs another year...
...but heaven help the offenses that face him when that year is up.
Posted by: LB | August 30, 2013 at 11:20 PM
Edwards is a big back who doesn't have enough strength to run like one with a punishing finish to contact.
Yet, but he's got a great frame and looks like he belongs but FAU is, well, not so good.
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | August 30, 2013 at 11:20 PM
Wow. Burns made two great plays.
Posted by: LB | August 30, 2013 at 11:22 PM
Artie Burns with 2 nice pass breakups
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | August 30, 2013 at 11:22 PM
I'll tell ya'll what, Schnells has put something TOGETHER! at FAU. FAU has a pretty good D, I can see that MLB playing in the league. That WR is pretty good too, I can see Him playing in the league also. If they can get some more blue-chipper here and there, LOOKOUT!

Back when I played NCAA football on video games, I would take the Owls and turn them into a superpower in dynasty mode, won 100's of games in a row at one point, like 10 titles consecutively. The little pathetic stadium would always rock with only 17000 capacity.

Canes 34 FAU 6.

Good night all. Enjoy the Win, think of it as a practice game.
Posted by: CGNC | August 30, 2013 at 11:27 PM
Well, by far, the best opener of the Al Golden era in Miami tonight.
Also by far the worst opponent but you play who's on the schedule so bring on the turds!

Confucius say: Video games were made for people whose most significant accomplishments in life were participation ribbons.
Posted by: BEERicane | August 30, 2013 at 11:30 PM
Saw some good things, saw some bad things. Definitely didn't see a powerhouse football team. OLine needs attitude. WRs need to catch the d@mn ball. Need a power running game. Need a redzone target. DLine did okay. Linebackers need to make plays when the opportunity arises. Thought the safeties and corners played pretty well. Some freshmen played really well. Morris showed pinpoint accuracy. Duke is Duke. Punt returns were awful. Dorsett looks lost. O'Donnell is good. Goudis got it done. A lot to clean up. Will be watching the enemy tomorrow.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | August 30, 2013 at 11:31 PM
Toledo is much better than them.
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | August 30, 2013 at 11:18 PM
I think FAU gave us better work for next week, than Toledo will give UF for []_[]s.
Go Canes.
Posted by: CaneRock | August 30, 2013 at 11:31 PM
Gus the bus was in.
Goodnight spacers.
Posted by: 1canesfan | August 30, 2013 at 11:31 PM
I'm pleased enough with the final score. We all know Gus was in. He will have opportunities in the future. Get ready Canes fans. Most important game of the Al Golden era is next week. Go Canes!
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | August 30, 2013 at 11:34 PM
And that FAU punter is the real deal. Was it just me, or did He hit one with an 8 second hangtime...
Posted by: CaneRock | August 30, 2013 at 11:34 PM
Posted by: CaneRock | August 30, 2013 at 11:31 PM
Ok, I respect your opinion, despite not agreeing with it. I say FAU is a bottom feeder team, like one of the 10 worst this year.
Toledo on the other hand has been to a bowl for three years in a row and return 9 starters on offense and is a bottom half team, not bottom feeder. I'd say the better competition is better in week one instead of a glorified scrimmage like this was.
So why do you say FAU gave UM better work than what the Rockets will the reptiles?
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | August 30, 2013 at 11:36 PM
God bless you all have a good weekend.
Go Canes!
Posted by: TrianlgeCane | August 30, 2013 at 11:37 PM
Yeah that one punt right before halftime was crazy. He put that one into low earth orbit it looked like CR.

Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | August 30, 2013 at 11:36 PM
More speed, better athletes? Most of those kids played each other in H.S.
The silver lining to all of this is that we know the offense was off and can play better. We couldn't give the defense a Mulligan if they had struggled as well.
Posted by: Sarasota 'cane | August 30, 2013 at 11:44 PM
So far the winner for LOF 2013 would have:
O: Waters
D: Rogers
F: Figs
C: Jethro
B: Walford
Sound good?
Posted by: The Dude | August 30, 2013 at 11:45 PM
Erase 2 easy drops by Coley 1 easy one by Perryman and its an entirely different score.
Hope Coley has a short memory. Did U see how open he was? Great route runner
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | August 30, 2013 at 11:47 PM
Good win but we need A LOT of work.
What worried me the most was WR's. If they can't consistantly get open against FAU, how the fukk are they going to get open against the gayturds? We'll need them to win those matchups on 3rd downs. I hope the performance was due to vanilla play calling...
Disappointed with Coley.
Duke as advertised.
Morris as advertised. (Except for that ugly INT)
Pleasantly pleased with the D.
Burns, AQM & Figs will be beasts.
Posted by: CoCane | August 30, 2013 at 11:49 PM
Dang I hope Scott is okay. Kid is very talented. It will just suck if he's gonna miss serious time. We need fewer serious injuries. If its broken what's the recovery time on that?

What SS said...More speed, better athletes? Most of those kids played each other in H.S.
Posted by: Sarasota 'cane | August 30, 2013 at 11:44 PM
And the fact they had quite a few kids that can play at UM. And that one CB was giving PD4 everything He could handle.
Posted by: CaneRock | August 30, 2013 at 11:50 PM
Also, the O-line is weak in short yardage.
Walford looked good.
Rogers was good.
Dorsett was underwhelming...
Posted by: CoCane | August 30, 2013 at 11:52 PM
K-state down 3 with :28 left to NORTH DAKOTA STATE. Wow.

Broken collar bone takes about 3 months to heal fully. So we should have him back by the national championship game. Lol. Hopefully just a fracture.
