The season has begun. Each week there's another game to prepare for, a new team to be conquered and, somehow, Alin doesn't feel he's getting enough attention!
Forget the Gators, let's concentrate on what really important: Alin's feelings.

I know somebody will check in with recruits, but AG and staff have a primary focus each week: the upcoming opponent. We need to prepare this week, get a lot of things corrected, get hungry get physically and mentally prepared to play with controlled rage. AE should be focusing on his week as well, preparing for the next opponent, grades, preparing himself mentally and physically for his next game. Anything else is self defeating.
I call each week The Big Push. You start on Sun when I look at our game film and our opponent scout report. Mon I give my guys their O, D, tendencies and key players....we then plan what we need to do to win....plays, strategies etc...and we still stress our fundamentals. Surely AE HS team does this....AG and Co on a much more sophisticated level.
Recruiting has head games, antics, tweets, Facebook, web sights... and all are all part of it; never happened when I played in the Stone Ages. Some of it is ok as it is informative. Be yourself, get some pub and love as a kid....that's fine. There comes a time when you have to draw the line. Parent, Coach AD etc have to work with these kids to help them ease into college, adulthood reality....maybe ease is a bad word...life has many bumps, ruts and ditches. I want the kid to do well, and if he helps us grow and get to our goal NC relevancy each year (is there any other?)fine. I will not babysit a problem child, coddle or stroke his baby curls, change a diaper etc. Get with it young man or get out. I know AG is a patient man, but he has showed little tolerance for foolishness; he has great goals to strive for, and little time for crying.

Now don't get me wrong; I am mindful of my kids feelings....they are younger. I never curse, I do not get in a guys grill in front of others...unless it is really bad....like talking back, rude, dirty play, etc even then me and him will have a 1 on 1 stern meeting...but never abusive. Any personal stuff...grades family feelings, incidents, ager frustration....I handle with my player, always my team mom and parents if needed. I have to be star crossed over 35 years as I have never had any major issues or incidents...small things kept small by thinking it through with my player, coaches and family.
I am on my guys side, and protect them when necessary....but I try to teach them responsibility and development of it. My guys learn this stuff from me at a young age. When Morgan Moses was being recruited, his HS made spectacles....I met with him and told him keep it real, think about your email and Facebook, don't brag, don't crow just enjoy it like a huge surf wave as a SR.....be the person you know you are. Your light will continue to shine and grow as a man. I was proud of him; he enjoyed it and has done well. Hope this kid will get some guidance as it should be fun....not drama filled and negative.....this is your chance for an education, a learning experience, a chance to play the game you love at the U!!!!!! I would loved to have played for the U....I would have be a Rohan Marley. Take heed young man, tighten it up!!!

Lot of guys cut in NFL....remember how ND qb Jimmy Clausen was the next coming....cut....Leinart won Heisman....cut....Micanor Regis, Street, Forston, Berry......good cats.....better than any of us ever dreamed of being.....cut tough life short life in that league....seemed like our guys were just young pups coming to the U now they get that shot....maybe only 1....at the pros. It is tough...

Bridgewater gots skillz.
Posted by: SOUP | September 01, 2013 at 04:26 PM
I am sorry TB did not get here; he is very good. I have seen several interviews with him, and he is smart, well spoken and humble. He knows how to win, but he sees it as a team accomplishment. He defers to team, and seems uninterested in the ME syndrome. I like that attitude; he comes across as genuine and he speaks like a smart mature young man. I am in his corner, I like him a lot. He would look good in our colors; I think he was much more polished and coachable than J12 his predecessor. I think a lot of things made him change his mind.

Regarding the idiot from TAMU, you want him you can have him. No problem with skills....attitude is the issue. The BS he did...just that. I blame Coach for allowing it...defending him all this time, saying he cannot talk about it...letting the kid walk by like he did....taunt like he did. I swear, I am on that field I find my chance to get a shot....my best shot hardest ever clean in the open knockout!!!
I would take TB5 anyday....that kid has overcome so much...great player great leader great attitude....I would have him surrounded with same character guys.....we blow Johnny Gayball and TAMU away!!!!!
