OK, I thought I made it clear this morning that I ain't having this during Gatah week, correct? Yet still U insist on pushing your negative agenda and talking about KSU and ND last year and the bowl game against Wisconsin during the week of the biggest game of the season?

Well here's a little surprise for U: I don't need U around to go along with the other 1 million pounds of stress I have this week between the work, the wife, the travel and the Gatahs coming to town.

I don't run this blog to be baby sitting U or to be miserable. I do this to have FUN and be HAPPY. U painfully ruin both concepts. So OGV please immediately stop posting comments and report to the prinicipal's office.

Thank U!

I don't know how most of the players will respond but I am pretty sure that Duke willncome to play and he will leave everything on the field. Duke is a true Cane from back in the day. Duke plays with the heart of Gore, Rolle, Taylor and Reed. We aare all about to witness a great performance. Duke will be a household name.

TonyCane

MIAMI 34 FLORIDA 17

Stacey Coley has 2 TDs, Duke Johnson has over 100 yards. Clements rushes for a TD.

Florida offense held to less than 300 total yards, with 2 turnovers.

I anticipate those NCAA COWARDS to drop the sanctions bomb on a week like this just as a distraction.

F' the Turds, $EC, & NCAA!
GO CANES!!!

Keoki...just gimme some of that RUM punch and we will call it a day!

Unfortunately I still see the NCAA looking at the week after the FU game to hit the U the hardest, if this is their plan. Either take some of the wind out of the U's sails after a huge victory or knock 'em down even harder after a loss.

That being said, if the U avoids the turnover bug and gets a play or two on special teams, I don't give a f... about the NCAA any more. This big O line with some depth hopefully can continue to grind down the FU D line, and it is a good one, so that we have more mo going into the second half and making the 4th ours again. In the long haul, the outcome may not be the biggest, but it's still the 'turds. My two favorite teams will be playing completely together on Saturday....The U and the team playing FU!

Someone forwarded the comment to me today, I believe heard on the radio, about what UF and UM students have in common? Answer: They all got into UF. ;)

WWIN

Harry, u da man!!!!

Anyone need any more reason to hate FU than this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_Uzu-wPFmc

If the link came through, it's the video of the Gator Flop and then the turds jumping into our fountains to celebrate. Goes down as the top of the list reason to hate FU! Bush league! It all just continued from there over the years. Anybody remember when FU decided to end the rivalry to expand their national horizons? The following year the U was replaced on the FU schedule by then Div I-AA Georgia Southern, even closer to Gainesville than Coral Gables. Name should have been officially changed to the Chicken Gators!

Gators, beware.

Randy “Duke” Johnson’s favorite person in the world, his mother, asked him for a special favor just before the season started.

“I said, ‘Mama doesn’t want to put extra pressure on you,’ ” Cassandra Prophet Mitchell recalled, “ ‘but I really want to beat the Gators and Florida State this year. And we owe Virginia, because that game you had won — and for them to come steal it at the last minute …’ ”

Johnson, the No. 1 rusher in the nation after last week’s 186-yard performance against Florida Atlantic, barely needed a moment to respond.

“He said, ‘I got you, big dog!’ ” said Mitchell, not an ounce of doubt in her voice.

Johnson, at 19 still a teenager with an impish smile and soft-spoken demeanor, is a full-grown terror to most defenses.

Last week he led the country with his 19 carries for 186 yards and a touchdown — a 9.8-yard-per-carry average. He also took down two opponents on a block that enabled Herb Waters to run a 63-yard reverse for a touchdown in UM’s opening victory.

Florida on Saturday, however, will be another challenge altogether. Be assured the No. 12 Gators (1-0), who held Toledo in their season opener to 50 yards rushing, are game-planning for Miami’s 5-9, 196-pound sophomore on cruise control.

Starting middle linebacker Antonio Morrison, named to the 2012 Southeastern Conference Coaches’ All-Freshman Team, was suspended for the Toledo game but will be back Saturday. That likely gives Florida coach Will Muschamp only so much solace.

Cracking the Top 25 USA Today Coaches poll might not mean a whole lot to Miami Hurricanes players, but it does count for something in the Al Golden era.

It's the first time Miami is ranked under his leadership.

You might not remember this, but it took Randy Shannon a little less time (10th week of his second season) to crack the Top 25. Golden obviously had a lot more on his plate than Shannon did with the NCAA probe dangling overhead from the start.

Miami fell out of the AP Top 25 under Shannon after just one week by losing to Georgia Tech 41-23 on the road. The following season, Miami began the season unranked, but opened with a 38-34 win over Florida State to get into the Top 25 poll. Then the Canes beat 14th-ranked Georgia Tech 33-17 and climbed all the way up into the Top 10 (No. 9) before losing 31-7 at Virginia Tech the following week. Those 2009 Hurricanes, however, finished 9-4 and remained in the Top 25 poll the rest of the season.

If Miami loses to Florida Saturday, the Canes would likely slip out of the poll. Golden, 2-3 against his first five ranked opponents (Shannon was too to start his career), gets the Gators (9th in USA Today, 12th in AP) this week.

Opportunity for a signature win? Absolutely. If you think about it, Miami really hasn't had one yet under Golden. The 17-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes they beat in 2011 finished 6-7. The 22nd-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets finished 8-5. Beating these Gators would definitely elevate Golden and Miami's status, show recruits the program really is on an upward climb.

"It's obviously a big game, but the biggest thing for us is to focus on what we can control," Golden said when asked if this game might serve as a benchmark. "Everything else that surrounds it, we have no impact on."

BUSH STILL FEELING DISCOMFORT IN GROIN

Sophomore safety Deon Bush started six games for Miami last season as a true freshman. We still aren't sure if and when he'll start another.

Bush, who had sports hernia surgery this summer, told me he still feels discomfort and hasn't been completely cleared yet to play in a game even though he's wearing a green "full-go" jersey and practicing.

"I'm getting there. I'm working each day to improve, working with the trainer. The trainer is doing a great job," Bush said.

When will you be ready?

"When I'm able to go out there and perform at a good level," he said. "I don't want to go out there in the game if I'm not 100 percent healthy."

Do you expect to be back this season? Could you redshirt?

"That's not part of the plan," Bush said. "I definitely should [be back]."

> Quarterback Stephen Morris earned this week's quote of the week. Told Miami had just missed out on making it into the AP Top 25, Morris said: "I could give two you know whats about it. My focus is I have to get the locker room ready … what we have to do on Saturday."

Braxton Berrios has become a very popular individual in the Twitterverse. With almost 8,000 followers on his account (@HNYNUT_BERRIOS), Braxton deals with fans from multiple schools urging him to attend the program of their choice. The speedy slot receiver discussed what these messages mean to him.

“It’s definitely different. It’s cool in a way and then it can get old and annoying. I know it’s only going to happen once though so I try to take a step back because I don’t want to take it for granted. Some of them make you think, but I try to take it as what it is and not think to much about it,” said Berrios.

Berrios has amassed 271 rushing yards, 7 total touchdowns, and 2 interceptions on defense in his first two games of the season. Because of his team’s dominance, he hasn’t been needed to play the entire game.

“Sometimes it happens. If I’m sitting out in the second half, we’re winning big. That means we’re doing well as a team and really getting other players ready to play. You go into games wanting to play the entire game because I love football, but if we go into the second half of the state championship game and I’m not playing, that means we’re winning which is what matters.”

Berrios made his first official visit to Oregon this past weekend. The Ducks are a program that recently offered Braxton.

“It was good. It was my first time being out there at the university and it was different just being out there with the landscape and all that. I don’t know, it’s just a culture shock anytime you go from east coast to west coast, but I liked different things. Everyone knows the football facilities speak for themselves so it was cool being able to walk through it and not just seeing it in a video. It was a great visit and great to see what it would be like to go there. It gave me some things to think about, not necessarily good or bad.”

The versatile athlete was down in Miami for a camp in June, so what is he looking forward to seeing this time around?

“The new football facility is finally done so that will be cool to see. Being able to walk through campus and see everybody will be nice because I’m getting down there Friday morning. Seeing a game will be awesome. I never got to see a game in the Orange Bowl or a home game, especially in their stadium now so that will be a new experience. I can’t wait.”

After Berrios camped at Miami, there was a timeframe of uncertainty about whether or not the ‘Canes would offer. He has been reassured that the coaching staff truly wants him in a Miami uniform.

The long-awaited debut of Demetrius Jackson in a Booker T. Washington football uniform took place a couple Saturdays ago, and he did not disappoint. Jackson was extremely active and helped his team shut-out nationally ranked Norcross 55-0.

“It was exciting and especially because it was on ESPN. We had to take care of business and it felt great doing it in front of the entire nation,” said Jackson.

The Tornadoes were confident heading into the game, but did they really think they could shut Norcross out?

“Honestly, yes. We go against the best offense in the country (in practice) with Treon Harris at quarterback and Mark (Walton) at running back with Krondis Larry. If we can give Treon trouble, we can give anyone trouble. We want the state record of 11 shutouts in a season.”

The pass-rushing tandem of Jackson and fellow Miami commit Chad Thomas was on display in the opener.

“We complement each other very well because he’s very strong and fast and I’m getting my strength up which is scary because I’m fast too. It’s fun and amazing how much we grow each week.”

Many are calling this week’s showdown against Central a potential national championship game. Jackson talked about what his team needs to do to win.

“The game is already won. We just need to go out there and execute. We shut down the run and they’ll have to go to the pass where the secondary will take care of business. It’s gotta be 48 minutes of pain and we can’t take our foot off the gas.”

Booker T.’s pundits are saying Central’s lines are too big for the Tornadoes to handle.
