The D played BALLS TO THE WALLS and gave UF all it ever wanted. People need to either A. quit complaining and enjoy the victory, or B. Move on to next week, this team has!

There IT is right there.

It ain't the Easter Bunny fool!

From a Gator friend of mine who lives in Orlando:

"Gators aren’t worthy. We bow to the CANES!!!"

Philip P. Whitby, LMHC

Orange County Department of Family Services

So here is another TRUE story for U:

On my way back from Tallahassee, where BTW Hurricanes are now heroes for beating the hated Gatahs, and where I ragged on the ONE Gatah fans I knew there, I stopped as I always do at Jack's BBQ on US 27 in Clermont just north of HWY 50.

The owner is a HUGE Gatah supporter (Bull Gator) and has Gatah stuff plastered ALL over the walls of the restaurant, even Tebow's "speech".

So he's not there yesterday PM but while I am waiting to pay for my food at the register I ask several of the staff there some innocent questions like:

"Hey, who did the Gators play last week?"

"Did they win?"

"You gotta be kidding, they lost to Miami?"

"That really sucks huh?"

They finally figured me out but it was too late, I was already running out the door with my food in hand...

Criticism of coach is more evidence as to the ignorance of Hurricane fans about the disasterous personnel situation Goldens crew inherited. Lat year was the worst defense he will ever have to field.

Shannons senior class bailing on Golden made a bad situation worse. Golden said screw it and threw youngins to the wolves by default.

And in suspensions, installation of a new defensive scheme and you have an entitled,, ignorant fanbase bytching and moaning over a defense that no coach in the country could of improved upon.

If U are ever in the area and love BBQ:

Bingo, Doc. And he had a fair amount of house cleaning to do for those who remained.

As the NFL has generally figured out, the bad guys, malcontents, etc, are simply not worth having around, no matter how talented they might be.

ICYMI, Jaques Patrick's (2015 RB) brother flipped his commitment from FSU to FIU (Obviously never had a committable offer from FSU).

This means that FSU is no longer a "lock" to get Patrick. Canes staff can reel him in, especially with a win at Doak later this year.

Dear star whores,

Jeff Driskel was a 4* QB and the #1 QB in his class coming out of HS.

Stephen Morris was a 3* QB and the #26 QB in his class coming out of HS.

Keep telling me stars and rankings matter.

Posted by: Ohio_Cane | September 13, 2013 at 10:44 AM

I'm curious. How many stars did Teddy Bridgewater have coming out of HS. And what about the new QB at FSU? Where did he rank? Thanks!

Ariz just tweeted Kaaya threw for 434 yards and 4 td's last night

Agree 100%.

If U think about it, IF we beat FSU at The Doak, could we actually have a real shot at 12-0?

Jimbo Fisher practically begging FSU fans to show up for their home games against nobody teams (like Savannah St. for UM):

We can (should) be undefeated going into that game. IF we beat FSWho, we ARE going undefeated. First challenge is @ UNC.

looks like I will be attending the USF game .....

mountain cane

I know it is pat, but other than Sav St, we really should go 1 game at a time. Ga Tech plays nc and v tech before they play us (and get more rest with the V tech being a thurs game)so we'll have a much better idea if their professed O improvement is real or not.

As a fan, I look forward ahead of upcoming opponents we SHOULD handle fairly easily. Especially when SOUP hands out the question that drags me in! LOL

That said, Mountain, I fully agree. The team should, and will be thanks to Golden and staff, focused only on the upcoming team we play and no one else.

LMAO! Amazing how easy some fans chastised D'No and his defense last year yet have such a difficult time praising him and his D this year. It's just one game against a sub par offense, but we FORCED 5 turnovers and they couldn't run anywhere. TWO picks in the RED ZONE, why? Because our D-LINE was all over their qb. Some of you guys are so clueless. Their qb had a career day (in yardage only) because our offense struggled and kept giving them the ball back. Get a clue

Matt Porter ‏@mattyports 14m

Film study: #Canes' defensive line helps Denzel Perryman wreak havoc against #Gators: http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/caneswatch

This is well done. Read it.

I think GT will be out first challenge. They have added to their O and actually have a decent throwing QB. If the offense is still struggling by then, they could cause trouble. That said, we should beat them.

FTM...I got some stats direct from the NCAA that will blow your mind when comparing the UM defense this year to last year when we were at or near the blottom in almost every category. It also shows how Miami compares to the tough UF D that is among the best and what the UM offense was going against:

Miami vs Florida Defensive Overall Stats:

Total D: UM #40 / UF #5
Rushing D: UM #46 / UF #4
Passing D: UM #56 / UF #25

And now where it REALLY matters:

Scoring D: UM #18 / UF #25
Red Zone D: UM #5 / UF #75

Other categories that are REALLY important:

Turnover Margin: UM #12 / UF #118
Penalties/game: UM #69 / UF #118
Sacks: UM # 10 (7) / #67 (3)
Interceptions: UM #36 (2) / #36 (2)

It's like a breath of fresh air, after having to put up with the negativity and bashing of the team with all kinds of rubbish reasonings.

I did watch the game several times and I did wonder how Porter manager to be on the ball right there and then. Well written article.

Posted by: JCane | September 12, 2013 at 11:32 PM

You are right, one player was open that was missed by Driskel but that was it.

Okay so you said that florida moved the ball at will, well lets look at the stats.

2 plays 9yds 0:40 Touch Down *Blocked Punt*
7 plays 54yds 2:43
11 plays 56yds 5:10
12 plays 66yds 6:16

Total Yds 245, TOP 21:36, 3rd down conv 5-8

2nd Half

9 plays 44yds 4:42 Field Goal

4 plays 60yds 1:21 Touch Down *Prevent D*

I think the stats say otherwise, especially the 2nd half

An ALL NEW #RaisingCanes will drop this afternoon. Stay tuned to Twitter and http://HurricaneSports.com .

WillieWill said the Doors on the Bus are CLOSED....Even said that this Bus has NO BRAKES....NONE....UNDEFEATED EVERY YEAR IS THE MANTRA AND 12% WE DON'T BELIEVE IN LOSING....NEITHER SHOULD U.. Stop Looking for L's...Canes Don't Do That..

RCCF....I think we had 6 or 7 official 12% bus riders get on before the doors closed this year. I was NOT one of them but I'll look it up.

The bus was towing me behind it, but I wasn't on it. Lol

SEVEN Spacers now officially on the 12% bus:

The Dude

Who got next?

MDCane came in later to make it eight.

Terrance Sullivan

12% or bust!

Posted by: MDCane | August 17, 2013 at 09:14 PM

There goes another one! That makes EIGHT!

Posted by: SOUP | August 17, 2013 at 10:21 PM

Well SOUP not sure if I still make the category because I don't think I was here when the question was being asked, but I will put out that I have been a 12%er ever year. Why? Because I am not a realist, I am a fan. A fan that does expect to win every game.

Average yards per touch (Rushing and Recieving, no KR/PR) through 2 games:

Duke - 6.86
Herb - 17.28
Dorsett - 22
Clive - 11.6
Rashawn Scott - 14
Coley - 9.5

I'm on the "cautiously optimistic - still hurting from past let downs" bus haha

After the Florida win, I'm firmly planted on the bus!

12% or die!

1982...I do remember that U are an official 12% for LIFE like lead dog RCCF, RoachCane, Terrance and the bus driver WWIN.

So I guess that makes 9:?

The Dude

If U guys are correct it will be INCREDIBLE!

Who HawaiiCane? Where do you live out here? If your on Oahu, Im at BWW for everygame, except this one because its on the internet. Ill be the drunk guy at the bar taking shots everytime THE "U" Scores. Be there for GT.

Just remembered ill be in Virginia for the USF so I obviously wont be at BWW.

The Dude

1982, don't worry bro, we saved you a seat on the bus!

Miami defensive coordinator Mark D'Onofrio Putting The "D" Back In Defense http://bit.ly/18jm2Ec

I agree with you. I was saying that the difference vs. last year was that the canes got stronger as the game went on, showing the better strength, endurance and will to win. The first half the D didn't stop much, but did what they needed to do when FU was in scoring position. That being said, an overthrow on an easy TD by Driskel to Dunbar on 2nd and goal was a huge play, as the next down the U got the int., and instead of being potentially tied...well, it doesn't matter now. As the game got deeper in, FU had to pass more often, which isn't their strength, and throughout the game the U could clearly focus on stopping the run to dare Driskel to beat them. It's like the D knew that Driskel would hit a bunch of passes but knew that eventually he'd make a mistake, so might as well just wait to strike. The jarring hits to create fumbles were a huge improvement from last year.

Enough time spent on evaluating the game though. Canes took the HUGE W, FU has to live with it for many years to come, and the U has shown a great step forward in growth, especially for this D.

Ohio...they started following us on Twitter a while back (thanks to U!) and now they are re-posting our blog articles it seems? LOL
