Small correction, Sota: home team gets a -3 pt edge.

Posted by: BEERicane | September 02, 2013 at 02:04 PM

Thanks for correcting Beer. I thought the game should start even and then move to UF as the money came in.

OGV missed the opening line by .5 which is pretty damn close!

I don't gamble but Vegas lines are uncanny in their accuracy sometimes so I always checkout Vegas Insider for games that interest me.

Gatorama? That's my neck of the So. Fl. Woods.

The Dude

All the Boise St. fans up here are mad at me. I told them they won't beat Washington, then they got rolled. Boise won't even be Top 25 now.

SOUP

They turds just can't play this game without having some "built-in" advantage over their opponents. I would bet they would insist on SEC officials as well. If I was Georgia I would have dumped the "Cocktail Party" game 20 years ago for a home & home.

The only neutral site game that I would give the turds would be a bowl game.

Yeah Gatorama sells farm-raised, inspected and certified gator tail meat, 2 lbs frozen for $30. Of course, I got me some and we are gonna make some fried gator bites with dipping sauce for the game.

The Gators assert that it's costing them $700,000 to play against Miami this weekend, since they are losing out on a home game.

LMAO!

Please tell me someone is cooking Gator at the tailgate?!

Also, glad to hear its not a broken collar bone for Rashawn

WWIN

Are they selling those t-shirts in this article somewhere?

DeeCane

The best thing about this article is DeeCane's grin being just slightly larger than inflatable #00 standing behind him. He apparently loved him some tailgating.

Second best thing, the clutch of not one, not two, but THREE beverages Terrance is controlling with one had in that picture of him with Old Skool, NC, and DC. That man required some hydration pregame apparently! Plus the re-bridge sighting is funny too since it's a callback to last week's blobbing.

Nice Shirt!!! I sure wish I could get down there for a game. $ still tight, housing is not all that all the experts say it is. Appraisals were getting better and more of them, but rates ticked up so its slower. So many normal people are not working, or slow or P/T it is hard to refi, purchase is hard as well. I am hanging in there. Govt says UE is 7.4% that is very inaccurate. Honestly about 11-12%.

I am going to get down there, as it will get better. You can bet I will be front and center Sat. I hope you guys have fun, party, drink one for me....be careful though....and we get a big much needed win. If we win this, it will be the biggest in a while. OK, TAMU wins....not really big they were not that good. This will be big and important for our future!!!!

The Beaver whining like a b!tch about lost revenue. Drisdull must be a computer science major in college (they still teach that there, right?). That line will almost double by kickoff and when I read Miami was favorited by the guy on here who thinks being a + on the line is a good thing, I thought about moving to a state that gambling is legal in to try and get UM winning on a last second field goal to not cover but win outright to double my pleasure, double my fun. This game is going to come down to defense with special teams being the x-factor in keeping UM in it.

UF missed a make-able field goal last week breaking in a new kicker, Goudis on the other hand sneaked that iffy 40+ attempt just inside the upright. Gator D looks just as good again even with the rebuilt line, they will be able to take away one facet of the offense at least just as all good defenses can, I'm guessing they're going to key on the run and take their chances with their rebuilt secondary making Morris beat them over the top because their safeties have range to help back there.

Offensively, they'll run the ball and roll the QB out to give him lots of run/pass options. He's better at reading past his first read now, not panicking as quick and pulling it down but if you can collapse the pocket, he's still prone to giving up on looking down-field. If he has time to throw, he can pick the zone apart and UM's zone has been lame for two years running now. I'm not sold on D?No! (shocking I know, contain your surprise please) being able to game-plan to take away anything so they will be able to move the ball pretty consistently I think. So there's you 6-7 point advantage for UF right there, thus why special teams will have to be the equalizer for Miami to win.

Hurricanes are really bad under Golden against top 25 teams. 2-7 bad with the two being really mediocre as end of the year squads who were over-ranked in hindsight. Al's never beaten a top 10 team. So this game is a corner and if they don't turn it now, the program might end up into the wall at high speed and they probably don't draw another crowd at home of more than 50000 actual attendees as opposed to tickets sold. 5-3 vs. 8-5 UF on the road and UM at home under these coaches, so in that sense, they're playing to their weaknesses in a way as programs.

Sounds like it wasn't a clean break for Scott, just redshirt him at this point.

Clwtrdan

Scott was one of my LOF's... do we have an injury provision?

1. Stupid statement #1. Al has never had a team capable of beating a top 10 team. So the REAL question is: "Is this 2013 Miami team the one that is ready to do that at this early point in the season?" We ALL find out Saturday.

2. Stupid statement #2. IF the UM football team loses to UF they may not draw 50K every week but it certainly does not mean that they will have officially "run into a wall". A loss may be bad for recruiting but means absolutely nothing when it comes to the the three BIG goals this season: Win the coastal division, win the ACC and play in and win a bowl game. In the end that is all that REALLY matters.

3. Not sure about this one. If it is just a bruised or slightly separated shoulder he could be back in 3-4 weeks and still contribute big this year. If it is more than that then he should redshirt I agree.

SOUP

I agree. Now if we lay a dud, like we did against FSU in 2010, then yeah, I can see that influencing our recruiting.

Notre Dame wasn't that good last year, he had a team no show the game, that's on the coach in my book. Unless you want to say that UM should just expect to get rolled by a conservative offense with a first time QB every time they take the field because all those NFL paycheck drawing players left or were suspended for not breaking NCAA rules, but roster management is his first and most important job so again, that's on the coach.

Penn State in 2009 played a single ranked team all season long and got beat handily, then won a bowl game against a checked out LSU for their only decent win that year. Owls basically no-showed that one too. So the idea they were an unassailable juggernaut that year is a specious of a claim to make at best, considering the very next week they lost at home to a Iowa team that was more lucky than good that year and kept skating by on fourth quarter comebacks until late in the season when their luck ran out. So yeah, that's on the coach to me also. So we are going to agree to disagree here my friend.

Moral victories aren't going to fill seats this or any year, so the win's the thing and if he's not playing to win them all, he's the wrong guy for the Miami job. That being said, if Miami starts well they have a chance to hang right in and get the win at home (and if Dumbskull reverts back to glorified wing t back form and takes some dumb sacks trying to create with his feet instead of waiting for his receivers to run themselves open, dare I say, blowout?) which isn't that out of the ordinary of an expectation to hold, but if they shat the bed collectively again, well, it's not going to be pretty on the reservation.

Thank you for the rebuttal.

No offense to the original poster, but it's like you're rooting for this staff to fail. At least that's how it looks to me.

orange 'n green in the vein

I'm not so sure the SOUP'ster is such a blatantly naked capitalist Old Skool? He certainly has those leanings like any other good red blooded American, but the guy wears his heart on his sleeve first and foremost and puts in the work for his school and the fans of it, so cashing in big is like down the list of priorities for him maybe?

I don't get him sometimes either, he's just one big mystery, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in a riddle, wrapped in a puzzle, wrapped in an inclement weather pattern, with a nice single malt scotch on the side.

Canesfan _1

"Moral victories aren't going to fill seats this or any year, so the win's the thing and if he's not playing to win them all, he's the wrong guy for the Miami job."

I totally agree with statement above, which is why I find it amazing that some people wanted to keep the previous coach. A real head shaker.

"but if they shat the bed collectively again, well, it's not going to be pretty on the reservation."

Incorrect. God forbid that we do lose, there'll be plenty to play for as stated by Soup. Your dream of it getting ugly is your wishful thinking.
