Michael Wyche was in ninth grade the night he shot someone with three bullets fired from the chamber of his .44 Magnum. A week earlier, the situation had been reversed, and Wyche was the one being fired upon by the kid now in his crosshairs, when the kid tried to rob Wyche on the sidewalk of a public street. The bullet had hissed inches past Wyche's skull into a nearby gate, and he'd fled through a labyrinth of back alleys. It wasn't enough for him to escape just for the moment; he also had to make sure the kid didn't see where he lived."

OH YEAH!, we DEFINITELY! back!

I'm just glad we were proactive. A lot of people were saying it was dumb of us to punish ourselves and wait for the NCAA hammer. Now they're appraising that proactivity.

dj moonbat

Man, that highlight film of Wyche is hilarious. He's 25% bigger than anybody else on the field.

WE BACK!

Yoopercane

I am trying real hard not to gloat about the sentence that was handed down but I will be humble and be thankful and proud to say ' I am Cane 4 life' and we weathered the storm. Now it's time for the Canes to take all their frustrations and heart aches that they have suffered and take it the field and lay it on their opponents for a good ol' fashion smack down!

He ain't gotta be fast, He just has to be an IMMOVABLE OBJECT!

CaneRock

"It's funny, because I didn't even know about the NCAA stuff today," Wyche told Canesport.com. "I committed and then the coaches told me about it.

And He doesn't watch the new!...WE BAAAAAACK!

Throughout this whole ordeal no matter what ppl said or felt our leadership at the top was amazing. I'm so glad golden is leading us. I feel his time at temple helped because he was used to coaching against huge odds. Ppl in the south might not realize how truly impressive it was he could win games at temple and on top of that develop a rb and dt that were better than any of the guys we had during that time. I hope he's a lifer and after we finish this season the nfl doesn't come knocking. I had a nightmare the other night that we go 13-1 and golden leaves for Jacksonville and dno becomes our hc wins a nc with goldens players and then the coach clappy era is reborn.

The University of Miami baseball recruiting class was ranked sixth in the nation by Baseball America Tuesday, marking the program’s highest ranking from the publication since 2006.

It was the second straight year Miami’s incoming group, comprised of 14 freshmen and two junior college transfers, was ranked among the top 10 by Baseball America. Miami’s 2012 recruiting class was rated tenth by the publication, while its 2006 class was ranked fifth.

Baseball America became the second publication to recognize Miami’s incoming group this fall. Collegiate Baseball newspaper rated the Hurricanes’ class the fourth-best in the nation in its annual rankings released in late September.

Four of Miami’s newcomers were selected in the 2013 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft: outfielder Willie Abreu (Cincinnati Reds), first baseman/right-handed pitcher Derik Beauprez (Boston Red Sox), catcher Zack Collins (Cincinnati) and outfielder Jacob Heyward (Atlanta Braves).

The newcomers will be joining a strong nucleus of returners that guided Miami to its college baseball- record 41st consecutive postseason appearance in 2013.

“I think offensively we’re making the right adjustments to get the guys who can hit with authority in here,” recruiting coordinator Gino DiMare said in an interview with Baseball America. “This is a deep group, a physical group—a lot of big, strong kids. No excuses; we’ve just got to develop them.”

Miami’s incoming class was rated the highest among all ACC schools, joining Virginia (No. 14), Clemson (No. 16) and Florida State (No. 18) in the top 25.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says his ninth-ranked Tigers are more even with No. 3 Florida State than the lopsided score in Saturday's meeting indicates.

Swinney said Tuesday after watching film of the 51-14 trouncing, he believes if the teams played 10 times, ''We'd probably win five, they'd probably win five.''

Swinney says he isn't taking away from the Seminoles' dominating performance. Florida State put up a record number of points for opponents at Death Valley. And while Swinney says there were a couple of areas the Seminoles ''were a bit ahead'' of his Tigers, he believes Florida State just caught Clemson on a bad night.

Personally Clemson is just not that good....no run game baby!!!!

VA Cane

I have appraised some duplexes and quadplexes in Chesapeake where my boy is from.....had a .45 tucked in a shoulder holster down there. Rough place to be....about 1.5 hours from me. This kid is going to help us; nice to see him get a shot at a good school like the U.

The Dude

If it were last years Clemson team, they may have had a chance. This years team just doesn't have the electric playmakers. They are tough and gritty, but don't have the horses.

Ohio_Cane

@OrlandoCitySC: IT IS APPROVED!!!!! We have a @MLS soccer stadium!!! We did it, #LionNation!!!!!!!!!! #MLSHereWeCome RT if you are ready!!!!

Good QB, Watkins good....no run game....FSU was just too much. I like him as a coach though, players coach....but I will take our guy anyday....Props to AG for staying around.....get him that big raise!!!!

Too much indeed. It's not impossible when your team loses by 5 touchdowns that the teams are evenly matched, and you had a bad night. But that's not what I saw the other night. Clemson was mostly just overwhelmed by superior talent.
