After his team's second open date of the season, Miami Hurricanes head coach Al Golden released the latest depth chart heading into Thursday's ACC road test at North Carolina.
No. 13 Miami (5-0, 1-0) is 5-0 for the first time since 2004 and enters the Thursday night clash riding a seven-game winning streak. It will be Miami's 19th ESPN Thursday Night game in program history with the Hurricanes sporting a 16-2 mark. Thursday night's game will kick at 7:45 p.m. (ESPN).
On offense, junior WR Rashawn Scott returned the depth chart for the first time since suffering an injury in the Hurricanes' season-opening win Aug. 30 vs. Florida Atlantic. Clive Walford and Asante Cleveland are listed as co-starters at tight end, while sophomore Herb Waters and freshman Stacy Coley remain co-starters at slot receiver.
Defensively, senior Justin Renfrow, senior Curtis Porter and sophomore Earl Moore are listed as possible starters at one defensive tackle spot. Junior Thurston Armbrister and freshman Alex Figueroa are co-starters at outside linebacker.
In the secondary,
sophomore Tracy Howard and freshman Artie Burns are co-starters at the left
cornerback spot, while senior Kacy Rodgers II and sophomore Deon Bush are
co-starters at safety.

Had a chance to see Yearby and Cooke again. I love Yearby as the better pure RB who sets up his blocks and runs well in tight spaces, but I must admit that Cooke is not only fast but has gotten bigger and is an impressive looking athlete. Cooke has also become a more shifty runner. And That WR at Central Philips is very good and is a playmaker.
Trayon Gray is not on a talented team, but he is outstanding and I think he will be very good at the next level. I like him as much as any playmaker out there.I would like Cooke and Philips, but I am very happy with Gray because he reminds me of the kind of recruits Miami used to get when Butch was coach.

BWC1, Cook's a BADASS!
He did something in the American Heritage-MC game that I've NEVER! seen before. From an OLB position, He actually ran from the opposite side of the field, to cover a split-end on the OTHER SIDE OF THE FIELD! And I mean He was stride for stride with this kid. Duke was a BADASS! on the D side also, He easily could've been a 5* CB or Safety.
Posted by: CaneRock | October 12, 2013 at 12:48 AM
BWC your comments are right on the Money. Gray is a beast maybe the best athlete in this class. Cook is a must get, the more i see him the better he looks. He is a solidly-built back, and should be capable of carrying the football 200 times in a college season if called to do so. If we get both Yearby and Cook it's the best duo you can hope for. Yearby will really need the U tough program and follow the foot steps of Duke to avoid injuries...

Looked at the depth chart and I was very impressed by the depth at all positions. Although I didn't understand all the depth chart changes, I like the quality of the players in the lineups
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | October 12, 2013 at 09:57 AM
It's Golden rewarding hard workers on a bye week again. Don't read much more into it except that the new "starters" will get more snaps moving forward
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | October 12, 2013 at 09:59 AM
Forget the "OR" stuff on the chart! How about the OL? Isn't it pretty late in the year to be moving our senior rock at RG out to a new spot? I love and trust Kehoe, but we'll have to see if the new lineup gives us the road-graders we were expecting.
Posted by: OFNC | October 12, 2013 at 10:12 AM
Thats what I love about Coach Golden. Reward the hard workers. Go Canes!
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | October 12, 2013 at 10:12 AM
Dorsett must be a jaw-dropping athlete in practice, because it's tough from what I've seen on game days to see how he's ahead of Coley/Waters.

DJ Moonbat put the alcohol down please^^^^^^^^.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | October 12, 2013 at 12:07 PM
Just to put things in perspective, Stephen Morris and Garrett Kidd both have one reception and TE co-starter Assante Cleveland has zero receptions this season. There are other inexplicable depth chart moves, but you cannot argue with success. Golden knows what he is doing
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | October 12, 2013 at 12:08 PM
BigWindyCane1 DJ Moonbat would disagree with U lol.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | October 12, 2013 at 12:09 PM
DJ, when have you seen Dorsett with a opportunity to return a punt and he didn't? Yes he made a mistake last week by trying to be AGGRESSIVE!!! Who else do you know on the team that hustles harder than Dorsett? Nobody you say, there's your answer as to why he's back there

I was talking about him being listed as the 1st-team WR, ahead of Waters. I guess Waters is the 1st-team slot receiver, so it's mostly a question of whether Dorsett's a better WR than Coley. I say no.
Posted by: dj moonbat | October 12, 2013 at 01:49 PM
Dj, Dorsett is better than waters and Coley

#6 Georgia is losing to #25 Mizzou. #12 Oklahoma getting stomped by Texas. Miami should gain two spots on idle.
