Barring the first quarter vs GT, who was coming off a bye week with new wrinkles, who burnt us?

Unless you're talking about last year, which is irrelevant.

UMike

Ohio, I was talking about the past in general. Stopping quality TE's has been an issue for the D for a long time. I am not saying he will burn us, I'm just looking forward to the improved D in that area.

Thank you to all who responded to our three-question survey. We were pleased to see the number of you who responded “Yes”, I would be interested in supporting our Men’s Basketball program knowing that their success could help our football team. In case you are interested, here are the survey results.

If you were not aware, our football program often hosts recruits at men’s basketball games. Last season, many recruits were in attendance for our victory over then-No. 1 Duke. We believe that the amazing, sold-out atmosphere at the BankUnited Center showed these prospective student-athletes that our fans are some of the best in the country, and their experience played a role in their commitment to UM.

Our football team is back in the Top 10 and men’s basketball went 15-1 at home last season, winning the ACC Regular Season and Tournament Championships. Clearly, each program has laid a foundation for success. Now is the time to build off of that momentum and support the continued success of both programs by choosing to become a men’s basketball season ticket holder.

Season tickets cost as little as just $99 and includes 16 home games (less than $7 per game). The home schedule features 9 ACC home games, including new conference members Syracuse, Notre Dame and Pittsburgh plus traditional ACC foes Duke, Florida State and North Carolina State.

The moment is almost here. Florida State-Clemson is the highlight of this weekend's ACC lineup, and of the conference's season. National title implications, Heisman Trophy implications and much more are on the line Saturday night in Death Valley. Here's what to look for in that contest and everywhere else in the league this weekend, which gets a head start tonight in Chapel Hill, N.C.

1. Miami's ball security. The Hurricanes are a top-10 team and 5-0. But an overlooked aspect through this start has been just how sloppy they have been with the ball in recent weeks. Miami has turned the ball over four times in each of its last two contests, and it needs to be sharper offensively coming out of the bye week as it faces a nearly desperate North Carolina.

2. Bryn Renner's return. The UNC quarterback missed the Virginia Tech game two weeks ago because of a foot injury but will play against Miami. Marquise Williams was solid in Renner's spot and could see more time, but the Tar Heels need their veteran presence back as they look to shake the cobwebs from a 1-4 start and emerge from the bye looking more like the team that had Coastal Division title dreams entering Larry Fedora's second season. Their all-black uniforms -- part of their "Zero Dark Thursday" billing -- should be something to watch, too.

No. 10 Miami (5-0, 1-0) at North Carolina (1-4, 0-2), 7:30 p.m., ESPN. #MIAvsUNC. The Tar Heels host just the second Thursday night home game in school history, desperately hoping to turn around their season. They face a tall task against the surging Hurricanes, who are making their first trip outside the state of Florida this season. North Carolina has won four of the past six meetings, including an 18-14 victory last season. Quarterback Bryn Renner is expected back in the starting lineup, but the big question is whether this Tar Heels squad will find its running game against a much-improved Miami D that's ranked No. 12 in the nation in total defense. Miami should be able to put up some points on a shaky North Carolina D. It is just hard to imagine the Tar Heels being able to keep up. AA picks: Miami 35, North Carolina 21

HD picks: Miami 38, North Carolina 24

Sorry Adelson and Dinich, but UNC isn't scoring more than 20.

There he goes! Apparently yo love is for our opponents!!!

I am now OFFICIALLY nervous about tonight's game. Not negative, just nervous.

With every game there is more and more riding on the line and each game means just as much as the next. It has been so long since every game had so much importance as they do this year. As long as we remain undefeated and within reach of our first ACC title I will be nervous before each game no matter who we play.

GO CANES, BEAT UNC!

WWIN

Off topic question??????

If we had a uniform deal with Nike like Oregon does, what would that do to our recruiting process?????

Canes should take care of business on the national stage tonight. This will be a sign that Golden is a very good coach, and that he prepares his team and keeps them focused for road contest and trap games. UNC also played South Carolina, so the pollsters might get swayed by an impressive showing.

Get ready Canes fans, I think we are headed for a November 4th showdown of top 5 teams because I think UM and FSU will both take care of business leading up to that game. It will be like the Canes v. Noles of old, wide left game.

BigWindyCane1

Sorry Adelson and Dinich, but UNC isn't scoring more than 20.

It's gonna be a white out tonight...

86, I'll be honest, I'm on the bus, but am feeling the nerves also. We should win by two TDs. I'm looking for Morris to play big, to never let the game be in doubt.

j.w.

Prediction Time? Here's mine: Miami 34, UNC 37. We jump out to an early lead, cruise through 3 quarters, then they come back on our reserves late to make it look closer than it was.

Terrance Sullivan

PHUCK NORTH CAROLINA!!!!!

SOUP

UNC TE Ebron is #83 in NCAA receiving yards this season and is averaging 4.5 catches and 66 yds/gm. Can't let him come off of the line clean, gotta jam him at the LOS to throw off the timing.

Terrance Sullivan

I aint worried about the Tight End Hell he can ball out just shut every one else down. Our Weapons ball out and we smash them Heels by 3 TD's. Go Canes!

Thursday nights are a UM specialty. I say Miami easily covers the 10-point spread.

Larranaga on ESPNU on how to reduce turnovers:

"We implemented a drill where we put 12 balls in a rack during practice. After each turnover we eliminate that ball. Once all of the balls are eliminated we just RUN!"

Did I mention that I LOVE me some Larranaga?

LOL

KYcane present and accounted for...barreling down SR 50 and with a little luck will be in front of the TV by kickoff.
