Raize, I've never used one other than the iPad mini that we got, but I love it. Works easily for everything U described.

Also, my 2 year old daughter navigates it, so she shouldn't have a problem with the technology.

SOUP

That's what she said!

I was waiting for that!

Neither game swayed or lost ANY recruits. Nor did it keep any recruits from considering us in the future.

You are right! Moten will pick the U this wednesday.

Over on Canesport, Deno said the defense played the worst game of the year. I don't know what he has been watching but when is the last time we got back to back 3 and outs on defense? When's the last time we've held an opponent to under 50% on third down? When's the last time we made a stiff QB actually look like a stiff QB? When is the last time we had an all-American on defense or at least resembled one?

CaneSawMassacre

I'm so bitter today...

I told myself we could beat FSU, even though deep down I didn't see it on the field yet.

I told myself afterward the talent at FSU is at another level to make myself feel better.

I told myself we should beat Vatech and prove that we are a Top 15 team, despite the obvious way this game set-up for a letdown. A letdown that this team over the last 10 years, has always provided me, without fail.

I told myself that everybody saying Logan Thomas was going to have a career day, was just being a troll. Trying to rile up anger, despite the fact that I've been watching the same non-aggressive defense play all year.

I told myself that Coley, as a first year play caller was figuring things out and adjusting to his talent. Losing his two of his best play-makers wouldn't help, but he could make adjustments and find more holes in the Vatech defense. Figure out how to play to Morris' strengths.

I told myself after the two disastrous fumbles that the Hurricanes could try and swing the momenentum. That they would fight back and steal a come they deserved to lose again for the fourth straight week.....

I've never stopped watching a Hurricane game before. I remember being a kid and watching Syracuse (ala Mcnabb) kill the Canes at the dome, like 63-0, and I think I cried. I never turned off the TV..

I stopped watching this game after the last Vatech touchdown..

Irony is that I turned to watch the Heat game and just saw the end when Wade completely jacked that whole game up...

WHY DOES IT HURT SO BAD WHEN IT IS JUST A GAME?????

I had a sh&t load of family members visiting from out of town. I couldn't enjoy any of it because I wanted to suplex my plasma on to my tile.

Sorry for the rant.. I'll always be a CANE but this one was painful.

CaneSawMassacre

It felt like an aweful form of deja vu and torture. Like constantly watching your girl get **** by another guy on repeat.

Sick to your stomach type stuff.

VA Cane

CSM it was painful for all of us.....I had that bad feeling before the game. Started very promising and boom! it was over.

These things happen...to us a lot in the last 10 years. Got to keep playing got to get ready for Duke.

CaneSawMassacre

VA

I had that feeling to. Then we were making plays to start the game.

Those two fumbles killed us, the momentum, and these kids shut down.

I feel like we could have eeeked out a win despite our poor play-calling if we have those 3 special teams plays go our way, but I'm tired of questioning game planning on this team.

I can't believe that we couldn't get any pressure on Logan Thomas and force a turnover on a QB that had 8 the past 2 weeks.

That we couldn't get a run game going at all, except for one long run by Crawford.

That somehow Morris is still being asked to make throws that he can't. Plus, we are not getting the ball into space for guys to make plays.

The offense and defense just looked even more generic than before and I'm not sure what improves it...

We can talk about athletes but we matched up with them well across the field.

Our vaunted O-line couldn't get the push when it needed it. (What happens when your sets are obviously run/pass oriented).

I mean sh*t.. I can call run/pass every time we line up, so I'm not sure how the defense can't!

Then how do you not put crazy pressure on Logan Thomas and force him to make mistakes in the game? I mean crowd the line, take away the run, and let Bush, Jenkins, Howard, Gunter, and Craford run with their guys...?

I dunno..

On to Duke

jsy

We were all warned about this earlier.....

Interesting point by a Temple Student but Miami fan…
Dose of Reality
I’m here to bring a dose of reality. In no way, shape, or form am I bashing the guy I’m merely showing you a bit of the truth behind Al Golden. While I fully support the hire and the guy (I’m a Temple student and loved how he has turned the program around) there are some things you guys should know.
I am copying this from owlscoop.com message boards. That is the best board for any Temple info, basketball and football. These are not my words.
Cap is spot on with his assessment.
I thank Al Golden for resurrecting the Temple Owl football program from near extinction, which was a mighty feat in itself. He will always have my deepest appreciation for all that he has done for the Cherry & White. The program is now once again relevant, and poised for even greater success.
However here is what I have personally discerned from closely watching his 5 years as Head Coach.
1. He is a good recruiter, but a mediocre game day coach.
2. His clock management skills are poor, as is his ability to make adjustments at half time. He has been repeatedly out coached in the second half of numerous games by coaches who have lesser talent, but more savvy. Frank Solich, Ohio U’s HC, really has his number.
3. His offense is often one dimensional, and he seems to stick with a game plan well after it has proven not to be working. He has a plan A, but not plan B if plan A gets shattered due to injuries, weather, bad calls, etc.
4. He holds his players to very high educational, ethical, and moral standards; sometimes not to the betterment of the team. Various quality players have been suspended, benched, stuck in the dog house, etc for minor infractions which have definitely cost us wins.
5. He is secretive regarding players, schemes, offensive and defensive philosophy, and other aspects of the program.
6. He has not been able to develop a Quarterback, or even establish a cohesive offensive scheme.
7. He functioned as the Special Teams coach with very poor results.
8. His teams have only beaten 3 D-1 teams with winning records in the past 5 years. He has not won the MAC East Crown, let alone the MAC conference title.
9. He is an opportunist. He was at Temple not even a year when he was out interviewing for the UCLA job; then he was calling on Notre Dame, Tennessee, and countless other schools looking to move on. Do not be fooled, once he is at UM he will touting himself to SEC schools, and even the NFL!
Again, I thank Al Golden for all of his hard work at Temple and wish him the best at the University of Miami. However, he is not the Wunderking Coach he is touting himself to be.
With that being said I still think he ends up being a great coach. Some of those points are merely opinion and I don’t necessarily agree with. However, a lot of those things are true. His main knock with Temple fans is that he hasn’t beaten a above .500 MAC team. I question his ability to make adjustments after halftime. Offense is very one dimensional.

I was duped by the tie and binder and the process but not no more... Not since 116 last year bc no one in hell was out talent 116 bad not ever is that acceptable to me but it was to golden and he kept dno despite 116 and that was when I went back and reread the above comments and knew he was not the answer

CaneSawMassacre

Interesting stuff JSV..

I've vented and will stop my dispensing of UM football bashing for the betterment of this program.

UpNorthCane27

Whats going on guys i have finally calmed myself down from the major dissapointment and anger i have towards our team. Everyone ere has nailed it one way or another from coaches being at fault to players missing tackles and showing no emotion..... Lets hope we can win out the rest of the year and end on a positive note....

Oooo yea

FIRE NO'd!!!!!!!

CaneSawMassacre

I've had enough anger built up all weekend. That is all I can handle for now. I'm down with my long work day, and get to come home to my lovely pregnant wife to forget about the rest of this for at least the night.

CaneSawMassacre

I'm with you UpNorth.. I just let it all go.

I couldn't muster up the energy to deal with it yesterday.

I didn't even watch NFL, ESPN or anything because I didn't want to be around football.

Now... Moving forward.

AG has to fire No'D, right now he is on very solid ground as HC and deserves to be after the NCAA debacle, but he needs to show he means business and do the right thing. It will put all the coaches on notice.

For me AG is officially on the clock, no more excuses.

My guess is if we finish 10-2 we end up in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta on New Years Eve against say Texas A&M or LSU or South Carolina or Missouri. if we go 9-3 i say we end up in the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando on Decaember 28th against either Louisville or Central Florida. Either way is gravy for yours truly. If we go 8-4 or god forbid 7-5 the Hyundai Sun Bowl on New Years Eve from El Paso will be calling our Canes but not Yours truly I Cant Go For That No Can Do In My Hall and Oates Voice! Go Canes! I think it is legitimate to question our chances against Duke after getting embarrassed by VT, given that
1) VT was @home, Duke will be on the road,
2) Duke is on a 3-game winning streak, VT had lost 2 straight,
3) last year's game was a nail biter, and this year's version of Duke is significantly better.

The only two decent teams, 1 great and 1 OK, whooped us bad. The offense has regressed and the D is hopeless.

Until we beat good teams, the record doesn't matter IMO.,

Montreal-Cane

11 drops in the last 2 games it's like we are back to the Randy Shannon years...
Waters, Walford and co. should ask Leonard Hankerson what he did in the off season to solve his problem and become the most reliable receiver in his last season at UM.

Surfercane

Canes will beat Duke! O yea we miss DUUUKE we r not the same without him!

Record is all that matters the More W's the better !!!!

TRUTH!!

VA Cane

Bring on `Bama. Florida State, too.

Ohio State wide receiver Evan Spencer made it clear Monday that he believes the Buckeyes are better than No. 3. Spencer had a chance to watch two-time defending national champion Alabama and second-ranked Florida State last weekend while the Buckeyes had an open date.

''I guess I'm a little biased but I think we'd wipe the field with both of them,'' said Spencer with a chuckle. The junior, who is the son of former Ohio State and NFL player and coach Tim Spencer, added, ''That's just my bias speaking.''

Actually, Spencer didn't mention Florida State. Asked if he was referring to the Seminoles, he said, ''Whoever.''

Urban Meyer took a very different approach to making it known that he thinks the Buckeyes deserve a chance to play for the national title.

Meyer said he voted the Buckeyes (9-0, 5-0 Big Ten) No. 2 on his USA Today coaches' poll ballot - behind Alabama but ahead of Florida State.

''I believe we have Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State,'' Meyer said of his ballot. He couldn't remember the order of the next two teams, between Stanford and Baylor.

Asked for his rationale in voting that way, Meyer said, ''I had us (No.) 2 all year. I just think we're playing like one of the top teams in the country right now.''

typical Meyer player.....this is what I coach against, I tell my guys we NEVER talk. All I can say re: Saturday "Hows that Swag working now?!!!!" I hate talk, boasting, and yap yap....it will never win you a game!!!!

Quiet confidence among teammates who can look at each other, never say a word and go out and destroy people....love it!!!! JMO

Devin Hester ran smoother.

VA Cane

I know it seems bad, but we cannot quit now. There are some things that need to change; many people on here have good points. I do not play or coach in this style, but that's me. I have coached sandlot, HS and a little college, but I am not a professional coach; I have never made a dime for coaching. I am very confident in what I teach; its been drilled into me for 48 yrs or so. It works for me on my level.

Spoke with my old Coach Jack Johnson last night. He is a guru even at 70. He said that's the worst game he's seen UM play, tied with OB finale against UVA.

I think to get to where we want to go, we need to get to the basics as a base. Offense Run the damn ball. D get up in there and whip peoples ass, make plays cover man. Once you get that down, then add the more complex details. I think the staff should see that by now; my biggest concern. JMO

raizecane

I really don't want to hear excuses for this coaching staff. Saban went to Bama when they were not very good and he won a championship in year 3.

Look at Auburn…..they finished 3 - 9 last year. Gus Malzahn in his first year has that team in position to possibly play for the championship….

I bet Saban can go to Texas after this year and with the NC before Miami wins the ACC. It's coaching people…….

LA3

Just a question for all you Canes fans....

Did anyone else have an issue with DUKE sitting in his wheel chair ALONE during the game?
As team leader, I expected him to get up or roll over and give his team some encouragement or yell at them. ANYTHING to try to HELP.
I may have missed it...but I never saw on TV do anything. I hope I am wrong.

As heart and soul of the team...he needed to do anything to help his team.

WWIN

^^^^^^^^
Raize, u right about that!!!

Meast

What a tough loss on Saturday night. I was at the game but didn't watch any of the 2nd half. Me and my 2 buddies got distracted at halftime by some girls we met and well, at that point, the game came secondary lol. The one play that let me know we were going to be in for a LONG night was the 3rd & 17 and we gave up a TD. Worst tackling I had ever seen on that play. Anyway, still going to support the Canes and ride with Golden until the end.

j.w.

LA3- just a guess, but I'm betting his doctors didn't even want him on the sideline. Staying back by the bench was his compromise, if he got hit while close to the sideline he could be back to square 1 with his recovery.
Still angry. . .

BEERicane

Rainy mess + VT = No good for the canes.

LA3

j.w.

Maybe you are right.
I figure if he is OUT there, then be closer to the team at some point. Not right on sideline but atleast near some of the team...shouting distance. Or roll over during time outs....try to get the fellas heads up!

WWIN

LA, the leader of the team is Morris. Yeah I know, we have the blind leading the blind

TonyCane

Raizecane, Saban went to Alabama and IMMEDIATELY brought in a good class in 2007. He then followed them up with top classes in 2008 and 2009.

2007: 10 four star players
2008: 3 five star players, 14 four star players
2009: 4 five star players, 14 four star players

Contrast that with Golden...

2011: 2 four star players
2012: 2 five star players, 8 four star players
2013: 9 four star players

Yes, I would say that Saban winning a national championship in year three is understandable.

Talent matters! Recruiting matters!

WWIN

Tony, u have to adjust that to the ACC. Doesn't what Golden in the ACC compare to what Sabin did in the SEC?????

I mean, the only team we have to recruit to compete against is fsu

Terrance Sullivan

LOL 2 years before Saban came to Alabama they went 11-2 and was #2 in the country in November its not like Alabama was a dumpsterfire. and 2 years before Urban went to Ohio State they were 11-2 and was ranked in the top 10 with a BCS Bowl Win in the Sugar Bowl. Come with better examples than that. Those teams had mad talent and just quit on there previous coach or coach got forced out for NCAA Issues hell Auburn won the National Title in 2010 and was a 9 win team in 2011 they just quit on Cheez Whiz so there was plenty of Talent in Auburn and Malzahn knew the talent because he was the offensive coordinator there in 2009,2010,2011 there at Auburn. I love U guys but use better examples. We have basically been a 7-5 program since the start of the 2006 season with the exception of the 9-4 2009 season. So we have been mediocre for the past 8 years.

TonyCane

I'll give you a team that is underperforming far worse than what we saw on Saturday night...despite their 7-2 record they are utterly mediocre, and with a roster that is loaded with "star" players.

University of Texas.

And has been now for four years.

Terrance Sullivan

Lets Go Canes! Beat Ga. Southern!

Ohio_Cane

Canes struggling with Ga Southern? Wow this IS gonna be a long year. Future is bright tho!

WWIN

Tsully, bama SUCKED before Sabin, trust me I know my uncle loves em more than we love our canes.

Auburn SUCKED and only won bcuz of Cam

BEERicane

I am not trying to be alarmist or hyperbolic or anything here. Is it possible Miami is not only the worst team in major conference basketball but possibly in all of division 1 basketball this year?

I agree, though, next year will be the real deal to judge coach L. This is a throw-away year. Everyone knows it.

BEERicane

And MJ5 should have been the starting back his whole career.
