This is it.
The time has finally arrived.
Al Golden has reached his moment of truth.
All of the cute little slogans, and promises, and interviews come down to this:
The current head coach of the Miami Hurricanes faces his first MUST win game. Al Golden must find a way to beat Virginia Tech to have the possibility of reaching the ACC title game for the first time since UM joined the ACC.
Failure, or losing, to most Miami Hurricane fans is simply not an option today at home as it was last week on the road against highly ranked FSU.
The Miami Hurricanes under head coach Al Golden MUST win this game.
Anything less would be totally unacceptable.
CANESPACE PREDICTION: CANES 34 - VT 20
Having the db's play 15 yards off the ball ain't helping either Ohio. How many 3 & outs do we have on offense so far?
Posted by: 4-Real | November 09, 2013 at 09:21 PM
I understood the fire DNo talk last year. But why now? Our O is getting anything done, either. An occasional big play every now and then disuises the fact that we're unable to consistently move the ball downfield.
So you either start over altogether with a new staff or you stick with who you have for better or worse.
Posted by: VfB_Cane | November 09, 2013 at 09:23 PM
Williams should play. Morris is lost.
Posted by: TGU_Cane | November 09, 2013 at 09:23 PM
Good news, we have positive yds rushing!!
Posted by: Account Deleted | November 09, 2013 at 09:24 PM
Finally, a first down!!!
Posted by: 4-Real | November 09, 2013 at 09:24 PM
3rd and 5ish, Stephen Morris at QB...

AGAIN, execution. My daughter could've caught that, Herb!
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | November 09, 2013 at 09:26 PM
And Herb Waters chokes.

Can't believe my boy Waters drop 1!!!
Posted by: 4-Real | November 09, 2013 at 09:26 PM
Bad drop by Waters but the ball was badly under thrown...

This team was 7-5 last year.
Come back to earth people. LOL!
Posted by: trianglecane | November 09, 2013 at 08:54 PM
You do realize that we shoulda been 9-3 last year if we didn't get out coached. We shouldn't have lost to unc or Virginia last year but were out coached
Posted by: WWIN | November 09, 2013 at 09:30 PM
Posted by: Willie Will in Nashville | November 09, 2013 at 09:30 PM
Really good point.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | November 09, 2013 at 09:30 PM
If Morris leads that receiver correctly we score. Our receivers are suffering from that stuff. Wide open, short throw. Morris' injury is way worse than what they're making it out to be.
Posted by: D4-Cane | November 09, 2013 at 09:30 PM
Great kick!!! Just as important as the points, we kept the d off the field 4 more than 3 minutes.
Posted by: 4-Real | November 09, 2013 at 09:31 PM
Play calling killed the drive. 1st down runs, missed throws setting up 3rd and longs.
2 for 9 on 3rd down tonight.

Posted by: Sebas13 | November 09, 2013 at 09:39 PM
So its 3rd and long again, do we give up the first or the TD this time? D'No will give up the crossing route again.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | November 09, 2013 at 09:39 PM
Looks like D'NO is on our opponents payroll.
Posted by: TGU_Cane | November 09, 2013 at 09:39 PM
Gentlemen, I think we've seen enough No'd.
Time to start the website, fly the banners, or start the phone calls.
No'd must go.....

Lmfao...this defense is straight garbage.
Posted by: PapaCane1963 | November 09, 2013 at 09:40 PM
No Ohio, do you see how I, a fan sitting at home just called that sh*t? D'No cant even outcoach me.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | November 09, 2013 at 09:40 PM
how the F can U fumble a ball forward into the end zone and get a TD?
Posted by: TJL | November 09, 2013 at 09:41 PM
Boy do we suck
Posted by: Sebas13 | November 09, 2013 at 09:41 PM
We fumble the ball twice and VT falls on it. VT fumbles twice and gets a 1st and goal and a td out of it.
Posted by: VfB_Cane | November 09, 2013 at 09:42 PM
D'no gotta go.
Posted by: PapaCane1963 | November 09, 2013 at 09:42 PM
AG needs to decide.
Either NO'd goes or they both do.
We'll never win big games with this D...
Posted by: Account Deleted | November 09, 2013 at 09:42 PM
Bet we run it on first right here! Lol
Posted by: WWIN | November 09, 2013 at 09:42 PM

Gee, crossing route open again.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | November 09, 2013 at 09:48 PM
Some sad football. Herbie said they would come out flat, like a hangover. Whewwwwwwww someone got drunk last weekend. Soft, passive, gentle kind does not work on O, D or ST. Flip it to the 2nd half of Bama LSU. Man there are some big time players executing fundamentals that become big time plays. Its a world of difference. Switching back and forth I thought at 1 point I hit a wrong button and got a D3 game...then I looked and realized no it s VT UM. Both teams looks small and frail compared to the Bama LSU. Linemen, LBs QB backs corners WRS....all have NFL skills that house is rocking....we have a way to go folks. got to keep pushing, trying, believing...don't quit guys.
Posted by: VA Cane | November 09, 2013 at 09:48 PM

Posted by: TJL | November 09, 2013 at 09:49 PM

Posted by: Willie Will in Nashville | November 09, 2013 at 09:47 PM
Which is OK, IF you've got the speed to close on the receiver and take off his head and/or force the drop. But we don't.
Posted by: dj moonbat | November 09, 2013 at 09:49 PM
You can run drags ALL game on us and it'll work 100% of the time. SMH

Thomas for Heisman! DNO for President.
Posted by: TGU_Cane | November 09, 2013 at 09:49 PM

Posted by: TGU_Cane | November 09, 2013 at 09:52 PM

we need to bring our players up to the line lol
Posted by: mi@mic@ne | November 09, 2013 at 09:54 PM
I don't give a fukk if we were 7-5 last yr. Sooners were 7-5 in 1999. What happened in 2000? Stoops didn't have no'd fukking up his defense.
We are 7-1 playing 6-3 team with a bad offense at home and the excuse store is open and there's a fire sale .
I don't want al going anywhere but if shula can be forced out in large part Bc of his loyalty to NO'D's retarded uncle tom olividotti, then no one is bullet proof forever.
Posted by: texican cane | November 09, 2013 at 09:54 PM
The 1 post I never wanna see again is " The coaches know more than u " post! Obviously not, cuz even Stevie Wonder can see that Thomas & everyone else is taking advantage of that soft zone crap!

Water boy movie !!! Oh no we suck again
Posted by: Sebas13 | November 09, 2013 at 09:56 PM
Let's be honest here. The two TO's on kick returns were not really the issue tonight. They just made it easier.
Bottom line is we have no D at all, and VT was going to score plenty.
Tackling is non existant. That's coaching.
Fire NO'd now......
Posted by: Account Deleted | November 09, 2013 at 09:56 PM
Btw, it's coley's first OC gig, but we've been at this for 3 years with sorry dno. I just don't see anything about his scheme or play calling that would make me feel like we can go forward with him. The players deserve better and so do we.
Posted by: Canezitis | November 09, 2013 at 09:56 PM

Qb draw for td
Posted by: Sebas13 | November 09, 2013 at 09:57 PM
I wonder why everyone is so good against us, specifically on 3rd down? Could it be because you can do what ever you want on first and second, but when 3rd down comes, everyone knows what you have to do to Miami?
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | November 09, 2013 at 09:57 PM
Back to last year. Fuck this. Golden sucks.

these guys lost to dooogie lol
Posted by: mi@mic@ne | November 09, 2013 at 09:59 PM
Even tho there is time to come back. We cannot run the ball and Logan Thomas is looking better than Cam Newton. Defend the crossing route . Slow Jimmy Gaines doesn't have the hips to defend a slot guy in coverage. I cannot believe this. Still time. Let's go canes
Posted by: laquinton | November 09, 2013 at 09:59 PM
D'Onofrio has to be fired. Has to be fired. Fly the planes, email Donna. Someone get a petition going. Boycott the Virginia game. This chimp has to go. That f*cker is not welcomed.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | November 09, 2013 at 10:00 PM
Just a reminder: D'No isn't getting fired, and if he WERE fired, he would be replaced with somebody who will implement a similar system, because Golden LIKES this system. D'No is doing what Golden wants.
Posted by: dj moonbat | November 09, 2013 at 10:00 PM

Fire Golden. What do we lose?
Posted by: TGU_Cane | November 09, 2013 at 10:01 PM
It's OVER , don't have the heart of a champion. Al and D no defense, straight garbage. They do not coach to attack, coaching to react, what adjustments have they made. Offense cord. calling a wack game, o-line sucks bad. Bad product on the field.
Posted by: 1miamifan | November 09, 2013 at 10:01 PM
Can't get off the field, can't cover the TE, constantly get beat on crossing routes, poor angles and poor tackling means someone needs to go. And don't gimme this crap that it's raining or any other excuse. We're regressing if anything right now. Would the listen if we started a petition?
Posted by: Canezitis | November 09, 2013 at 10:01 PM
Alright alright alright... Promote Barrow.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | November 09, 2013 at 10:02 PM
