This is it.
The time has finally arrived.
Al Golden has reached his moment of truth.
All of the cute little slogans, and promises, and interviews come down to this:
The current head coach of the Miami Hurricanes faces his first MUST win game. Al Golden must find a way to beat Virginia Tech to have the possibility of reaching the ACC title game for the first time since UM joined the ACC.
Failure, or losing, to most Miami Hurricane fans is simply not an option today at home as it was last week on the road against highly ranked FSU.
The Miami Hurricanes under head coach Al Golden MUST win this game.
Anything less would be totally unacceptable.
CANESPACE PREDICTION: CANES 34 - VT 20

Yeah, I'm pissed after this one I wont lie. But I'm certainly not trying to take it out on anyone here. Something's got to give here.

WHY does everybody keep crying about D'no????? Its CLEARLY GOLDEN.
If GOLDEN didn't support this defense don't you think he would had been let D'no go??? Why is D'no still here? Cuz big AL is promoting this defense

If I thought that Miami was serious about getting somebody better, I'd turn on Golden in an instant. But Miami's current administration seems to be as satisfied with being has-beens as Golden is satisfied with that defense.
Has. Beens. If Miami can't beat a team that just lost to Duke, playing in Miami in the rain, Miami is decidedly NOT on its way back to greatness.

Hell, Whipple's offense would've been great with these WRs.

Yup. I think the admin is happy if we stay out of trouble, graduate players and go to a bowl game. I do think Golden wants to win though

Duane, said that we are going to see the same thing again, how we played. Al, is going to play the Sr. The defense gave up 500 yards.
Posted by: 1miamifan | November 09, 2013 at 11:15 PM
the truth is our D was 117th last year...and not much better this year.
the better stats so far are the result of 4 teams like savannah state, usf and fau, add in fl who turned the ball over 5 times and it appears we've improved.
but when it got to winning teams like FSU and VT we folded just like last season.
my guess, we may get ranked #24 or so, but don't be surprised if we drop out. can you blame them.
btw...can we trade the 'ship reductions for another year missing a bowl game?

Starks, is talking about Miami predictable play calling. How consist that Morris getting into the flow of the game, and the defense is being Out coached every week.
Posted by: 1miamifan | November 09, 2013 at 11:23 PM
Well think of it like this. Connecticut needs a new HEAD coach. D'no ?
Posted by: laquinton | November 09, 2013 at 11:27 PM
D'no, doesn't have a clue. Wow, Bama, just had 3 sacks back to back. Need some
DL help bad.
Posted by: 1miamifan | November 09, 2013 at 11:27 PM
Oh well, tomorrows another day. Maybe D'No will resign in embarassment? Good night everyone. Next week we play Duke and it will be another uphill battle. Please, please, please change this defense.
Posted by: The Dude | November 09, 2013 at 11:29 PM
No'd in the post game..
missed tackles...
missed coverages..
didn't get off the field
things we worked on still happened..
either we don't have the talent, or the coaching, or both.
Bottom line is they have no answers

Starks, we are a reacting defense, and we don't have a short passing game.

How this team & staff can play such uninspired ball after surviving 3 years of holy NCAA hell is beyond me!!! If there was 1 team in America with sumthin 2 prove 1 would think it would be us!!! These boyz should be ready to run thru brick walls & murder everything movin simply to rub shytt in the faces of both the NCAA & punk azz Shapiro, but nevertheless.....

Posted by: laquinton | November 09, 2013 at 11:41 PM
D Starks, is on point. How is on the 3rd down, that a man is open time after time, you can't blame cb, lb, the blame belongs to the coach, that how you're being out coached. No push on dl, we stay in our base defense all the times.
Posted by: 1miamifan | November 09, 2013 at 11:46 PM
Real Talk ^^^^^^^^^^^^.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | November 09, 2013 at 11:47 PM
Really good question laquinton. We could play the hypothetical name game, but we all know Al won't fire his BFF. I'd look to the pros first, maybe we can find a guy looking for more money and more exposure. Is Gregg Williams still unemployed?
Posted by: The Dude | November 09, 2013 at 11:48 PM
To answer my own question, Gregg Williams is with the Titans.

Posted by: 1miamifan | November 10, 2013 at 12:13 AM
The only thing worse then the D was the fanbase. yes we deserve and elite D, the fact is that our scheme sucks and so does 15 our of our 22 deep on D, We need talent the Booker T boys will help. Support the team Support Golden he has done 85% good here, he needs to shore up the D. We need him to stay and get some talent in here. A coaching tweak or two will help. As for Coley he gets a pass this year, Morris has struggled Duke is down, this whole offseason he gets to coach up QB's and improve his play calling. Next year he is on the drying pan if we can not score.
Posted by: Hassan | November 10, 2013 at 12:14 AM
Williams won't come to college . The issue is that recruiting has been tough and injuries has cost this team allowing D'no to not call the game How he wants . Porter,Robinson,Pierre, Green are not starters and the last 5 or 6 games we have seen them more and more, Maybe 80% of snapS. But then we have AQM and McCord . And the talented freshman though they are still freshman . We have to be patient. Look we are 7-2. Granted nobody wants to lose. Not to Tech or FSU . I believe the canes will run the table. Finish 3 and 1 the last 4 games and win the bowl game. Momentum will have to be on our side
Posted by: laquinton | November 10, 2013 at 12:15 AM
We are back at square one. Why should we have faith in an unproven coach, with mediocre staff, using shyty schemes. This will not end. We will keep doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. That is the definition of insanity.

Posted by: TGU_CANE | November 10, 2013 at 12:17 AM
*Frying pan
Elite players will help
But we def need to get better coaching, Coley gets his pass, D'No to me is not the guy but i know he wont go unless we give up 50+ another 4 gams in a row
