Here is a brief photo essay of the UM pep rally held at Pointe Orlando.

LongTimeCaneFan (at R) decided to join the party a little later on while Old Skool was just doing what he does best; being Old Skool (at rear):
Then as is our tradition, we took their women and and left with a smile:
We all had a good time and after a tasty dinner at Twin Peaks in honor of Canespace blogger TSully we called it a day. Go Canes, Beat The Cards!!!
Canespace Predicition: UM 38, UL 34
I do wish I was a little younger I swear I would come to FL sit AG down, and convince him he needs me on the staff. I have no doubt I could succeed coaching at UM

Based on the previous blogs analyzing the defensive improvement of various teams - most of the DC's had many many years of experience at their craft. Sounds like you have the just what we need. The plane ticket is on me.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but saying coach Golden should be fired for going 9-4 and losing a bowl game leaves you devoid of any credibility.

So many things I COULD say, but I will not. Until tomorrow that is.
Last night me and my brother who I somehow talked into driving up from the 305 to attend the game drowned out the memory of the game at the Ale House on 17/92 in Orlando before crashing at a hotel nearby.
Never read the blog, never commented, but knew what to expect.
Today we went to play golf at 11 AM at the Shingle Creek course in South Orlando near the 528. Beautiful course, great day after the debacle last night.
Tomorrow I will weight in with my opinion.
After that who knows what will happen in Canespace?

Beer u should be ashamed to refer to your school as dead. U should be ashamed of some of the things that you come out with. I have nothing to be ashamed of. I have nothing but the best interest of the U @ heart. I do not speak ill of the school. This is different from criticizing coaches & schemes. Statements such as the U is dead contributes little to the dialogue & portrays u as anti U.

I've heard good things about Shingle Creek… (never played it myself though). You avoided the rain? We got wet here in the 941 this morning.

Appreciate your thoughts and YES, U are correct. I did forget to say "IN MY HUMBLE OPINION". I will always say IMHO from now on. Thanks for the tip!

In my opinion, it's not the number of losses that gets a coach fired, its how you lose.
we were crushed by the 4 best teams we played all year, and racked up wins against some sad competition.
Even AG admitted we were totally out coached saturday night.
And that's what will get you fired in the end....
Glad you had a good day SOUP, wish the weather had been better for your golf game.

"I have nothing to be ashamed of."
Ending a sentence in a preposition. Of that, you should be ashamed.
Everyone and their mother knows "The U" moniker refers to the football program, not the university as a whole.
I understand you frustration, I honestly do. We just have two different approaches to this debacle that is UM football. Blind faith and acceptance of the status quo of the past 9 or so years vs continued experimentation until we discover the solution.
It's all good, Nigeian. My frustrations are in delays. At what point do the continued Golden supports demand his resignation or firing? What is the threshold? Another bowl blowout? Not making a bowl? At some point you need to have an actionable tipping point. I hit mine after that ineptitude last night.

He's got the 3rd point to this discussion..AG should have never been hired.
Posted by: KYcane | December 29, 2013 at 10:20 PM
Soup...hang in there brotha. I know how bad you must feel. Doesn't hurt as much for me because while I was rooting for my Canes to win, I knew this outcome was a strong possibility. Didn't think the offense would struggle like this, but not totally surprised given Stephen Morris's limitations and lack of football IQ. We need changes and they need to come from Golden. First thing he has to do is change the defensive scheme and philosophy. If that doesn't happen expect the same results on defense next year. Offense may improve under Coley. D won't improve with D'No running Golden's defense.

Silly Go Canes, no one said to fire AG, there was just wishful thinking by some posters that maybe penn state would take he and D'No off our hands LOL

We got some light sprinkles but it did not POUR down rain in the 407 until 3 PM and we were finished by then. God loves me!

Go Canes....U are entertaining if not completely delusional. LOL
Did U go to the game last night? Did U sit in the stands in over 20 seats in four sections and talk to over 30 total strangers who are football fans from UM, Louisville and EVEN FSU?
Well I did and when I tell U POLITELY what THEY said, not what I said IMHO, but what they said, U will learn to mind your manners and be a good blogger or if U want to play tough guy then U will get it this way: just STFU!
ONE WORD OF ADVICE: U DO NOT WANT TO ANTAGONIZE ME RIGHT ABOUT NOW.

"Men respond to real leadership remarkably. Once you win their hearts they will follow you anywhere".
-Vince Lombardi
The man was a genius. What we need is leadership that men will believe buy into and follow. It must be genuine, from the heart and your kids have to be sold completely. I think leadership needs work AG needs to make some decisions on coaches schemes kids and not be afraid to make and stick to them. The lack of leadership showed last night. JMO

Leibniz, Newton, Faraday, Fermi, Einstein, Feynman, Born, Boltzmann, Gibbs, Higgs, Tesla, Heisenberg, Planck, Maxwell, just to name a few. These People were real geniuses. VL, not so much. Genius is the third most overused word in the English language next to "like" followed by Swag(ger).
Posted by: BEERicane | December 29, 2013 at 11:18 PM
VACane, you are 100% correct. Lack of leadership is putting it nicely. Decisions do have to be made and no one should be immune. The coaches lost the respect of the players somewhere after the VT game or during the Duke debacle and didn't ever get it back.
