After a three year hiatus from post-season competition your Miami Hurricanes find themselves back in Orlando at the Citrus Bowl.
This time they are not facing the Wisconsin Badgers but the Louisville Cardinals in the Russell Athletic Bowl this Saturday.
What: Russell Athletic Bowl
Who: Louisville (11-1, 7-1 American) vs. Miami (9-3, 5-3 ACC)
When: Saturday, Dec. 28, 6:45 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Where: Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium (65,438), Orlando, FL
Opening Line: Louisville -3.5
Louisville and Miami both entered the season with conference title aspirations and each ranked in the Top 10 earlier this year, but untimely losses have the future ACC opponents facing off in Orlando.
Miami self-imposed a bowl ban each of the last two seasons, making this the Hurricanes first postseason appearance since the 2010 Sun Bowl. Louisville head coach Charlie Strong has led the Cardinals to a bowl in each of his four seasons. A victory could give the Cardinals back-to-back bowl wins for the first time in program history, but as we see it, that is very unlikely to happen.
With an in-state bowl game, Miami should have a huge advantage based on the fact that it is the program's first postseason appearance in the Golden era.
Louisville will hope to avoid a serious Hurtt from the Hurricanes as they have not seen the same level of play that led them to the top of the NCAA rankings earlier this season.
Prediction: UM 34 - UL 31.

445 bench and 575 squat, played mostly in a 4-3 but with his size he can def take on blockers in a 3-4 lineup.

Another name I've seen people bring up is former Penn State player Al Golden, who is now at Miami.
I'm skeptical Golden would leave UM at this point for Penn State. He endured a lot of the heavy lifting after walking into a dumpster fire in Coral Gables with that Nevin Shapiro mess. And, now that he is stocking the program with his players and a loaded 2014 signing class, just as UM emerges from the dark clouds of the NCAA I wouldn't think Golden would want to walk back into a deeper NCAA scholarship hole and a heftier rebuilding job.

Golden ain't going nowhere. He may be stupid for hanging on to DENO but the man can recruit a little bit and where else will his back yard be so fuitful.
It would be a killer if Wyche couldn't get in because Valentine may be in the same boat. Dam, why does this have to happen to the guys we really need.
Hope the Canes show out for all you lucky dogs going to the game and since it has been reported over and over that Deno has not much talent to work with on that side of the ball, I guess guys will see a lot of offensive fire works. Even though The Herb us us losing by 4, I hope all of us will be able to have some pleasurable thoughts on this blog later on, including my candid self!

It's hard to believe, that Morris, Harris and Wright are in the top 10 all time in passing yds at the "U" and yet we have basically stunk during their tenures as starting QBs. There have been some 9-3 seasons sprinkled in but but if you look at the other names on that list those guys probably combined didn't lose 20 games. Of course they failed to mention how many INT's they chunked and of course our defensive talent has not been up to par, cough, cough!

It's not so hard for me to believe in Harris's and Morris's cases. Both Whipple and Fisch had a real fondness for going deep. But neither Olson nor Nix was particularly into the long ball, so it's tougher to figure out how Wright could be on there.
On the other hand, how many 4-year starters have there been at the U in the modern (pro-style offense) era? That extra year or two makes a big difference.
