In the next few days Hurricane Club members will receive their 2014 Hurricane Club renewal package. Gifts to the Hurricane Club help in #BuildingChampions at the U.
The Hurricanes proved this in 2013 by winning championships and receiving national recognition with our student-athlete academic achievements. Hurricane Club members shared with us a magical men’s basketball season, watched our women’s tennis team win an ACC Championship and saw 15 of our 18 teams compete in their respective NCAA Tournament.
Perhaps most importantly, Hurricane student-athletes excelled academically, with a school-record 92 percent Graduation Success Rate and a spring semester cumulative GPA of 3.01.
In our continuing efforts to further strengthen the foundation of the Hurricane Club and provide better service to our members, we would like to highlight key information for this year’s annual campaign:
- All Hurricane Club donations are due in full or on an approved payment plan by Friday, January 31, 2014.
- Ticket invoices for 2014 Football & 2014-2015 Men's Basketball will be mailed when your Hurricane Club membership is renewed in full or on an approved payment plan.
Click here to Renew your 2013 Hurricane Club Membership Now
Please use your Account ID and your password. If you do not have your password, use the password reminder link at sign in.
By giving to the Hurricane Club, YOU can help us to achieve the following 2014 Goals:
- Raise $9.8 million in annual support
- Increase Hurricane Club membership to 7,500 active members
- Achieve 20 percent participation in our Canes Plus Program
- Recruit 1,000 new Hurricane Club members
This year, the Hurricane Club is asking all members to participate in the Canes Plus program. By giving at a Plus Level—or giving at the Next Level—members not only increase their priority, but, most important, they maximize the impact on the lives of our student-athletes. Click here to learn more.
If you have any questions or need any additional information regarding the renewal or referral process please call the Hurricane Club at 305-284-6699 and a member of our team will assist you promptly.
Thank you for #BuildingChampions at the University of Miami.

Hey Soup:
I wanna be team historian. I like to live in the past!
Interesting to see the potential Strong to UTexas. The guy has done a great job and is ready. However, the reasons that the deep south wouldn't hire him years ago, as far as I'm aware, still apply. It is nice to see a place like UTexas wouldn't potentially let something so petty stand in the way.

Wow,,,,,Charlie Strong to Texas……...

Strong leaving to Texas for $25M.
Louisville set to hire Golden. UL "source" says that bowl game performance by Hurricanes convinced UL that he was the right man for the job.

Should Golden leave, Miami candidates would likely include former Hurricanes tight end and offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski, fired Sunday by the Cleveland Browns after only one season; former FIU head coach Mario Cristobal, an ex-UM player and assistant; former UM assistant line coach and recent USC interim head coach Ed Orgeron; and former UM defensive coordinator Schiano, who was fired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday.

Would you count Spurrier? He coached in the league at some point, won Heisman.

What a fuking circus? UM administration needs to get balls and tell AG either you are with us or against us. This fuking circus needs stability. VA cane drop the politics and get your country azz to Coral Gables. My choices would be Butch, Cristobal, Oregon and Chud.

Dam straight, The Herb as Dee-Tackle coach. Beware All opposing RB's And QB's your azz will be ours next year. The heat is coming and rest assured Canes Nation, my azz is on the recruiting trail and we won't be understaffed at DT no longer. No more getting punked, no more half azz QB's making us look like a pop warner team. Soup done gave me the keys and The Herb is stoked.

Jim Harbaugh was my boy, so I'll approve that but he was overall considered just a decent player

So, I have the over/under on how many minutes into the game before the Orange open it up on the scoreboard at 27 right now, sound about right for Sunday?
Oh, I see everybody is still paying attention to Alverage Slogan trying to extort another raise/extension/cover for his college roommate loser buddy, instead.
Never mind.

I mixed emotions on the Golden situation.
On one hand I do like Golden. He seems like a stand up guy. Especially being punished for others peoples actions. And I do think he is a very good recruiter. On the other hand I feel like the team has regressed and we are still seeing the same brand of football from the Coker and Shannon eras.
I don't fault him at all if he takes the PSU job. How often does your dream job at your alma mater open up?
I sure hope Donna and the AD have had some plan in place in case a scenario like this took place. If not they are going to look like fools and further embarrass the athletic department.
Posted by: Mia Chi 'Cane '98 | January 04, 2014 at 01:34 AM
As a AD at any school you should have a top 5 list of coaches at all times just in case ANYTHING happens. If you don't, you not a REAL AD!
Posted by: WWIN | January 04, 2014 at 01:44 AM
RCCF, how did Bird do as a coach? I can't remember.
Also, I never understood why y'all call em thot's???? I know what it stands for but I didn't know if it was a abbreviation for something?
Posted by: WWIN | January 04, 2014 at 01:47 AM
WW,
Exactly man. You shouldn't be scrambling right now. You should already know. Look at Texas. What the hell are they doing? I like Strong, but how many people have they tried to offer it to? I mean you knew how long ago you weren't bringing Mack back? What a joke. You're going to force out a pretty well respected coach, you better know who the man is that's replacing him.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | January 04, 2014 at 01:53 AM
I'm pretty sure that Bird was coach of the year with the Pacers.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | January 04, 2014 at 01:56 AM
Rob Chudzinski gets my vote.
Posted by: KiriJax | January 04, 2014 at 01:58 AM

Funny the Herald doesn't even mention Butch... funny like sad, not like ha ha.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | January 04, 2014 at 02:07 AM
Go ahead and quit, then.
Stay in a job with no real title and no real security, for an opportunity to work and learn at the best football shop in the country and for significantly more money. Cristobal is a better candidate now after what he!s learned in Bama, than he would have been had he stayed in his figurehead job here.
smh
Posted by: Lurker | January 04, 2014 at 02:13 AM
Bird took the Pacers to the Eastern Conf Finals twice and the NBA finals once.
Posted by: TLuv | January 04, 2014 at 02:13 AM
Cristobal is an ho-hum hire. I don't want to have to wait on a coach to develop anymore. Just want to win.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | January 04, 2014 at 02:16 AM
And Lurker, don't take everything so seriously man. Its all in fun.

Thot = That Hoe Out There… Reference to loose ladies and or harlots lol.. I believe its Chief Keef crap.. Im 35 man so Im slow to call someone a Thot but I do find it funny every other Tues. TLuv got it Bird didn't do bad as a coach, GM, or player, but I digress I agree in essence Great Players Usually don't make Great Coaches…

WIllie-
I could be wrong, but I think it was a mix of being tired of the grind and wanting to pursue his career an an NBA executive. He's pretty awesome at that too.
