It will all begin this Wednesday at 6 PM.
It will end on Saturday some time probably around 3 PM.
Four games in four days will result in some serious four play for UM fans.
And Canespace will be in the 305 to witness all four games in just four days in Coral Gables.
It is the kind of clean and fun sports "four play" that brings you an incredible opportunity to support your Miami Hurricanes athletic teams in Coral Gables over a four day period:
- Baseball: UM vs FAU at 6 PM on 2/19/14.
- Basketball: UM vs ND at 9 PM on 2/19/14.
- Baseball: UM vs UF at 7 PM on 2/21/14.
- Basketball: UM vs BC at Noon on 2/22/14.
Canespace will be on hand and in force with several bloggers who will be in attendance at these events and we hope that many more of you will join us for this exciting gathering of 'Canes fans.
We hope U join us. No, really we do!

2 years? I think Golden only gets 2 years if he fires D'No after 1. We will lose at least 4 games next year and then Golden will blame the youth and inexperience and talk about all the experience coming back the next year. The Golden homers will buy it (again) and we will be stuck with D'No another year. So no matter if we like it or not (or if they deserve it or not), it will be at least 2 more years.
I don't see Gibson coming to UM. After reading what Ariz wrote and doing some more digging OSU is definitely the leader. South Florida is loaded with talent this class, so plenty of other talent to be had.
Also, to be clear, I have always been a Golden supporter, he has done good things here. I turned on Golden when he let his homie stay on the staff after 2 consecutive seasons of the worst Miami defense in recent memory. To make it worse he sold us a load of BS about things trending up on D, while throwing the O under the bus. That is where Golden lost me. I do not think Golden has the nuts to fire his buddie... hell I dont think he has EVER fired someone on his staff. Golden also already lined up future excuses if the D does not improve this coming year. Any other coach worth a dam would of recognized D'No and his scheme (and perhaps Goldens scheme too) is holding this team back and made a change.

You didn't hear em' say that He's worried about the O-Line depth...same way He was worried about WR & RB depth last year, before throwing Coley under the bus after He flirted with PSU...where dey do dat at?!

What amazes me is that it would make other people ANGRY for someone else to be positive? To me it looks like this:
Negative people can be as negative as they want to be and everyone else is supposed to not only accept their point of view but embrace it.
On the other hand, positive people are not allowed to even exist because it makes the negative people bitter and angry.
Somewhere in all of that there must be a feature article for the blog?

I have spoke on the positives in recruiting and the tons of good this staff has done, but there is currently lots wrong as well.

Awesome story of DJ, from Ariz :
Demetrius Jackson ready to give back
With 2014 signing day over, most signees are just focused on finishing their final months of high school and getting ready for the college. While that is partially the case for Demetrius Jackson, he has his sights set on something much more important than just working out. Jackson is in the process of starting his own non-profit organization that will put an emphasis on giving back to the inner city youth of Miami.
“The name of the foundation is going to be JUSTKids. It’s going to be a program where UM football players can mentor young kids and keep them out of trouble and out of the streets and be their male role models,” said Jackson.
Jackson says the program will be focused on the neighborhoods of Overtown, Opa-Locka, and Liberty City.
“I want to especially give back to Overtown because that’s where I’m from and we will be there to help them with anything they can, whether it be school work or just talking to them about things they are going through in life. We will be able to relate to them so it’s going to be a great mentorship program for them.”
The Miami signee has already taken an initiative to reach out to his future teammates and get them involved in the program as well.
“I talked to Chad (Thomas) about it today and I talked to (Braxton) Berrios about it too. I’m going to talk to Mike Smith, (Anthony) Moten, (Brad) Kaaya, and really as many dudes as I can. I’m going to reach out to the older dudes like Tracy Howard and Deon Bush too.”
Jackson has said before that he would like to be a pastor or motivational speaker once his football career ends and he believes that this could be the first step in taking him down that road.
“When I say give back, I mean I want to expose them to a whole different level. Most of these kids only know about Overtown and that’s not good for the mind. Who would of thought I would be going to UM? Nobody. My parents didn’t have the money to put me through a private school like that, so God gave me a talent and I want to be able to give them an early start and motivate their minds to stay focused and not worry about drugs, smoking, alcohol, and all that.”
The future Cane believes that now is the right time for him to get the program started since he has been dreaming about putting it together for years.
“I’ve been wanting to do this since I was in middle school, but now I have the platform to do it because I’m about to be at the University of Miami. My goal is for the whole nation to know me by my third or fourth year so that I can put this program out in front of me before my name so people will know what I stand for and what the University of Miami stands for.”
What are his major goals for the project?
“Eventually I want it to spread so that once those kids get to college, they’ll want to give back to their community like that and help out the way we are going to be helping them.”
On signing day, an emotional Jackson shared his disbelief of the moment. He is just now realizing that he will be a student-athlete at the University of Miami in a few months.
“Aww man, it’s set in. I’m an emotional dude and I express myself especially since I’m so grateful. I have no doubt that I will be successful both academically and athletically at the next level. Greats have played there and I can honestly say that when I took the tour, I could see myself on the banners with Dan Morgan and Sean Taylor. If I didn’t think it was the right place for me, I could have chosen any other school.”
After his basketball season ended on Thursday, Jackson’s athletic focus has turned to preparing for college football.
“My uncle used to be a boxer so I’m working out with him two or three times a week. I’m at my school weight room working out with my two cousins and I’m also doing 250 to 300 pushups a night. During my free periods at school, I go to the weight room to get a lift in and I’m drinking my protein-building supplement to go along with that. ”

Nash at CIS:
Athlete Jaylin Hayward has 'Canes in his top four
While most of the speedy players in Florida are found either in the Glades area or inner-city Miami, there is one in particular out of north Florida that has caught the eye of the Miami Hurricanes staff.
That player is 2015 Amos P. Godby High athlete Jaylin Hayward. The speedster from Tallahassee recently released his top four schools.
"My top four is Miami, Florida, FSU, and North Carolina," said Hayward.
Hayward caught the Miami coaches attention way back during his freshman year when he was at the Al Golden Football Camp and stood out amongst other competitors.
"I think they were very impressed with my forty time," said Hayward. "I think they were like, Yeah, we got to keep our eye on this kid. Because, they kept asking me my name, my grade, and that sort of stuff."
One thing that's very noticeable about Hayward's top four is, he has the three big in-state schools, (Florida, Florida State, and Miami) and North Carolina. What is it about North Carolina?
"They've just been on me for a long time. I think back in December I started talking to (North Carolina defensive coordinator) coach Dan Disch. Ever since then they've just been on ,me and always checking in on me," said Hayward.
Miami, who offered just after Florida State, is still uncertain about what position they would like him to play at the next level, so for now, the offer is just as an athlete for now.
According to Hayward, Miami's running backs coach Hurlie Brown is his lead recruiter.
"(coach Brown) was just telling me to stay on top of my grades and that they're very interested in me and for me to continue to do what I'm doing. He said there should be no reason why I wouldn't end up at Miami," said Hayward. "I'm definitely going to take an official visit down there"
Hayward has been to three straight Al Golden Football Camps and loved what he saw in Miami.
"Oh man, Miami is just a beautiful place. It's just relaxing, you know. The thing is that they also happen to have a great football program down there," said Hayward.
"Like why not be a part of that? It's got everything you would want in a city. There is just so much to do," said Hayward. "But I think being in a city that is so busy like that, like Miami, it kind of helps you mature faster, and how to ground yourself and not get into trouble."
"Just South Beach itself is just amazing. Then the campus is just, oh man, I was in awe when I went down there the first time," said Hayward. "
The five-foot-ten, 177-pounder describes his game film as "Exciting to watch. In practice we are always working on being explosive and being a hard runner and stuff like that," said Hayward.
And while Miami is a lovely town, Florida State wins a lot, North Carolina is loyal to Hayward! those aren't the biggest factors in his decision.
"I've got to be able to trust the coaches. I just don't want to go somewhere where I am not comfortable or I'm not happy, or I don't feel like a part of the family," said Hayward.
So, can Hayward trust his lead recruiter, Hurlie Brown?
"Yeah definitely. He's just a down-to-earth person and he just gives you everything like straight up, raw! There is no cutting around the corner with this guy. There is no beating around the bush, because he'll just give it you straight up and that's what I really respect about him," said Hayward.
Miami appears to be in great shape with Jaylin Hayward.

Adding to Hassan's post:
Leeward Brown is Committing
To the ! #DALE
EXCLUSIVE: OL plans to commit to Canes this week
Miramar High School OL Leeward Brown knows where he wants to attend college: Miami.
And he plans to make that official in person this Wednesday when he takes an unofficial visit to sit with football coaches and watch the Hurricanes' basketball game vs. Notre Dame.
"I'm going to commit to Miami on Wednesday, want to wait till then because I also want to talk to my cousin first to let him know," Brown said.
That cousin is former Miramar coach Damon Cogdell, who is now a coach at West Virginia.
Assuming that doesn't thrown any wrench into things Brown says "It'll be a strong commitment."
The 6-foot-4, 338-pounder says he landed the Miami offer Feb. 5.
"They put a lot of coaches on the phone with me (that day)," he said. "I talked to coach (James) Coley, coach (Hurlie) Brown, coach (Art) Kehoe, coach Paul (Williams) and coach (Al) Golden. They said they saw my highlight tape, would like me to be a Cane, that I'm one of the few pieces they're missing to come back to the old Canes, how it was, that they want to keep all the talent home."
His reaction to the offer?
"I was fired up," said Brown, whose other offers are from Marshall, Temple and USF. "It's a family environment like it is at Miramar. When they called and let me know I had the offer I knew it would be just like home."
Brown also says he enjoyed his experience at UM's first Junior Day.
"I talked with coach Kehoe - he was saying that he liked my talent, was looking at me from the beginning, that he and my offensive line coach at Miramar are friends so he knew about me off the bat."
Brown says the Hurricanes are recruiting him to play guard.
"He has to be considered a top prospect in the country," Miramar coach Matt Strout said. "He rated the highest among the offensive linemen at the Nike Combine. He plays with great leverage, has great feet. Some have compared him to (Cane signees) Trevor Darling, KC McDermott. In my opinion he's that type of athlete. He plays with a good, wide base. He's a very good kid, coachable, knowledgeable about the game and works hard."
Strout says UM has kept Brown on its radar for the last year.
"I consider Art (Kehoe) a good friend of mine," Strout said, adding that "I wasn't surprised Miami offered him. The talent that Leeward has would definitely benefit Miami's offensive line.

@PeterAriz: Early buzz around the 2015 recruiting class is that this could be THE class for Golden and staff. It’s early, but a lot of positive momentum
Posted by: Go Canes | February 18, 2014 at 11:42 AM
What's amazing to me is that Valentine laughed in Alverage Slogan's face when he threw out a 'let me coach you' pitch despite the constant whining by the bloggers who think that comments here or anywhere on the internet means jack or shat to where a college freshman is going to sign an LOI. Oh wait, that's not surprising at all to me, but what is surprising is that whining bloggers will still say that negativity in opinions being opined on the internet is somehow an anathema to football success at UM.
Oh, wait, that's not surprising either.
I guess nothing on the internet surprises me anymore, except UMike coming to the sobering revelation about the garbage football coach institutionalized at UM right now, that was a minor surprise to me that he eventually decided to not pretend the guy was anything more than a stale bag of hot air in front of a media microphone podium because UMike strikes me as the type of guy who is very positive in general about life but apparently not so positive that he falls into the all of the time fooled portion of that famous quote by Lincoln about suckers in the general population . . .

I won't say it's do or die for Gus but with Johnson/Yearby out for the spring the stage is set up for him to shine. At some point the influx of new RB recruits coming in will reward the strong and bury the weak within the depth chart.
