It will all begin this Wednesday at 6 PM.
It will end on Saturday some time probably around 3 PM.
Four games in four days will result in some serious four play for UM fans.
And Canespace will be in the 305 to witness all four games in just four days in Coral Gables.
It is the kind of clean and fun sports "four play" that brings you an incredible opportunity to support your Miami Hurricanes athletic teams in Coral Gables over a four day period:
- Baseball: UM vs FAU at 6 PM on 2/19/14.
- Basketball: UM vs ND at 9 PM on 2/19/14.
- Baseball: UM vs UF at 7 PM on 2/21/14.
- Basketball: UM vs BC at Noon on 2/22/14.
Canespace will be on hand and in force with several bloggers who will be in attendance at these events and we hope that many more of you will join us for this exciting gathering of 'Canes fans.
We hope U join us. No, really we do!

I think we all agree as long as our DLine is covering WR's and TE's they won't be much higher than that 100 spot..Appreciate the Info Guys as I am trying to stay away from this (bashing) U guys say we give ya..

There is such a joy in watching these kids grow and build friendships... but its is very special when you can teach your own child and watch them grow and improve and spend that special time with them. Im gonna have to sign my little niece up for something so I can keep going lol

Yup!
You think it would have been a good idea to have played more man to man or press coverage with this kind of DL production?

I cried my eyes out last year at the end of our soccer season, which happened to be my little sister's last season in HS. I've been coaching her since she was 4 years old how to play the game.
I'm sure you'll feel the same with your child.

Ohio, I almost bawled out the other night in our last game. If we wont that game we would of played for the league championship. We were down 10 with 20 seconds left.. and I knew it would be wild and loud and crazy after the game... so I called a timeout with maybe 10 seconds left. Im sure it pissed the other coach off, But I didnt care. I gathered all my girls up and told them I loved them and how proud I was of them and then I thanked them for the effort they gave me and gave them all a hug. I was holding back and almost exploded. Its going to be crazy being on the sideline or in the stands next year.

UMike, I hear ya. Her last game was our District Finals last year. A loss I'll never forget because of her. She was team and conference MVP last year. So proud of her. Wish she had another 4 years in HS for me to coach her. I've always treated her like a daughter, not so much a little sister.

Really, that high?
Posted by: LB | February 18, 2014 at 01:48 PM
Is it a surprise our DL was awful? This is what I saw all year, and realized this is exactly why we can't play press coverage more often. Our DL turned us into a 7 on 7 team. I don't care how good the corner/safety is, if U don't get to the QB, it's not that hard to beat your man as a WR/TE
Maybe coach VA Cane can chime in. I'm not nearly as knowledgeable as he is.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | February 18, 2014 at 01:53 PM
This is where a better DC would utilize his LB's and Safeties in different blitz packages. I of course and no D expert, but some things are common sense. For example, in 2012 our DL was not getting pressure (surprise)...D'No decided to use the LB blitz. Problem was it was ALWAYS EJ and was ALWAYS the same side lol... I mean, a below average OC would have known exactly what was coming. Even Deon Bush's safety in the bowl game, IDK how Bridgewater didnt see it, it seemed like it took forever for him to get there lol
Not to bash D'No even more, but I do not think he is smart enough to disguise the blitz and utilize the LB's and safeties to make up for the lack of DL pressure.

Last years Miami's DL had...
Luther Robinson - 4 Star
Curtis Porter - Talented Senior
Anthony Chickillo - 4 Star
Jelani Hamilton - 4 Star
Al-Quadin Muhammad - 4 Star
Tyriq McCord - 4 Star
I still think we had enough talent to be higher that #112
Posted by: UMike | February 18, 2014 at 02:08 PM
UMike,
But the talent played under a cloud.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | February 18, 2014 at 02:21 PM
Jelani hardly played. Muhammad and McCord were Freshman pass rushers. Luther had 1 start, but played in every game.
Porter was one of our best DL and only had 25 tackles with 3 for loss.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | February 18, 2014 at 02:22 PM
Sorry, McCord was a Soph. My bad.

I searched the Google machine to see if we did these things and found the below :
"The Hurricanes have tried multiple defensive options this year. Miami has rushed four, brought pressure, disguised blitzes, played zone, tried man to man and still remained one step behind."
I have not had a chance to go back and look at the film.
Posted by: 30CINCO | February 18, 2014 at 02:23 PM
I just wish No'D's base package was good. 11 angry men. Instead we have 1 or 2 angry men and 9 or 10 confused ones.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | February 18, 2014 at 02:24 PM
So if Al and No'D tried everything and as most of us understand there's plenty of talent, then it must be these guys can't hack it.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | February 18, 2014 at 02:26 PM
I'm looking forward to seeing guys like Chad, Wyche and the new DT integrated into a rotation with Chik, Quan and McCord.
Think we'll see much better results than we have.
Posted by: Go Canes | February 18, 2014 at 02:27 PM
So our DL was ranked #112 out of 123 teams, our offense 3rd down completion percentage was #96 outta 123 teams and our time of possession was #118 outta 123 teams. Thats just unacceptable. Hell How Did We Go 9-4. Looking at these stats it shocks me. IJS.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | February 18, 2014 at 02:28 PM
Ohio.. I am not saying we should of been a top 10 defense...just pointing out we have some talent there. If we can say the incoming freshman will help, then we can include AQM and McCord in the talent pool as well. My only point is, we had enough talent to be better that #112, just look at the teams with lesser talent rated higher ...
Army
Texas State
UL-Monroe
Air Force
Kansas
Temple
Louisiana Tech
UNLV
Kentucky
Iowa State
Bowling Green
I mean..theres plenty others. I know this isnt an official list. But even with our lowered talent level, we shouldnt be behind schools like that imo

How did we go 9-4 TS?
Duke Johnson. He's a gamebreaker. Add to that PD4 and SC3. All gamebreakers. We lived on breakaway plays. The D played good enough against Florida.

Yes he can fix it but it takes gonads to say "I was wrong my defense didn't produce and I want you to go back to what you know and what you were born and bred to play, Miami Football, I am a Nittany and have no clue of the speed that you guys have in SouthFlorida, Impress Me"....Bring Back the 4-3 In Whole not Pieces Not "Multiple"...

The Dude... As of right now I have no plans in regards to my son and JROTC. He wanted to take the class, and next year wants to try out for "Raiders", which I think is his real motivation for the class. He hasnt expressed to me that he wants a future in the military, but it would be his decision. He is also in band and has a bright future there. He takes engineering as a freshman and is on then robotics team. At the moment his future could be in a thousand different things lol
Ohio I know those other teams didnt play powerhoses, I get that, but still lol
