It will all begin this Wednesday at 6 PM.
It will end on Saturday some time probably around 3 PM.
Four games in four days will result in some serious four play for UM fans.
And Canespace will be in the 305 to witness all four games in just four days in Coral Gables.
It is the kind of clean and fun sports "four play" that brings you an incredible opportunity to support your Miami Hurricanes athletic teams in Coral Gables over a four day period:
- Baseball: UM vs FAU at 6 PM on 2/19/14.
- Basketball: UM vs ND at 9 PM on 2/19/14.
- Baseball: UM vs UF at 7 PM on 2/21/14.
- Basketball: UM vs BC at Noon on 2/22/14.
Canespace will be on hand and in force with several bloggers who will be in attendance at these events and we hope that many more of you will join us for this exciting gathering of 'Canes fans.
We hope U join us. No, really we do!

From CIS:
2015 Outlook: Tight End
Current Team Situation: Miami returns senior tight ends Clive Walford and Beau Sandland. Walford has improved his season totals with each year and the UM offense will look for him to make a jump in production in his final year. Sandland didn’t make the smoothest transition from junior college to Miami, but he is one of the hardest workers on the team and should have a more productive 2014 for UM. The Hurricanes also return sophomores Standish Dobard and Jake O’Donnell.
How Miami Addressed The Position In 2014: The Hurricanes added Georgia prospect Chris Herndon to the team, who is viewed by the coaching staff as an option at H-back. Athlete David Njoku may also grow into the position in the future.
Miami’s Need For 2015: The Hurricanes need to add a top talent to the tight end mix as Miami looks to replace their top player at the position for the last three years in Walford. Look for Miami to try to add one or maybe two tight ends in the 2015 class moving forward.
The 2015 Targets
Devonaire Clarington - The top tight end prospect in Florida this year, Clarington is a player that has the athleticism to be a real threat in the passing game. Clarington finished his junior season with 741 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He also totaled 72 tackles on defense. At this early stage in his recruitment, Clarington’s recruitment appears to be a battle between Miami and Alabama.
Trevill Holcy - Miami extended an offer to Holcy on signing day and the Hurricanes were the first school to offer. Holcy admits he grew up a fan of Miami and attended the Miami-Florida game early in the 2013 season. Holcy finished his junior season with 264 yards and one touchdown on 18 receptions.
Bowman Archibald - Archibald is known for being a physical presence on the line of scrimmage at tight end and can help boost a running game. Archibald is a tenacious blocker and may even grow into being an offensive tackle at the next level.
Chris Clark - Schools from all over the Southeast and Atlantic states have made Clark, who hails from Connecticut, a target at tight end. He already claims offers from Miami, Georgia, Ohio State, Virginia, Tennessee, Michigan, and North Carolina. Clark admits he is impressed with Miami’s tradition at tight end. The key for Miami will be trying to get him on campus at some point this offseason.
Bry’Keithon Mouton - If Miami is looking to add an H-back in the 2015 class, Mouton, who is from Louisiana, is definitely an option. Mouton totaled 395 yards and seven touchdowns on 21 receptions during his junior year. Mouton is an athletic option that could also line up at fullback. He also claims an offer from Alabama.
Other Names To Watch: The Hurricanes have also offered Tyrone Wheatley Jr., Hale Hentges, Jalen Wilkerson, Jackson Harris, and Kyle Penniston.
Final Thoughts: The real prize for Miami at tight end in the 2015 class is Devonaire Clarington. There is a very high level of interest on both sides at this point in the recruiting process. Now the UM coaching staff has to close and bring home one of the top talents in the area. Clarington can be the tight end of the future for the Hurricanes.

I know it can with the right personnel Ohio. More and more teams are implementing it.
But if I say it on here I get massacred.
Posted by: Go Canes | February 18, 2014 at 04:32 PM
GoCanes the only reason you get massacred for it is because you have no reason at all as to why they changed from a 4-3 Defense that was still at least top 50 to a 3-4 Defense that has not touched that area...That sir is a bad coaching move no matter how you cut it..

as long as you both know there is a handbook and it has codes then we are finally on one accord I will have a beer after work to that...lol..but do note there was no need to change the defense at all..

RCCF did you watch FSU play a 3 4 the entire national championship game?
Posted by: Go Canes | February 18, 2014 at 04:12 PM
"The entire NC game"?
Really?
WOW! you don't know what you're talking about.
Posted by: CaneRock | February 18, 2014 at 05:48 PM
And Auburn ran a 4-2-5/Cover 1 damn near the whole game, shut Winston down as best as you can shut Him down...what does that say about the 4-2-5.
And didn't Tre Mason run ROUGHSHOD! over FSU's SUPPOSED! 3-4!
Seriously, if you're gonna try to talk defense, KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU'RE TALKIN' ABOUT! SHEEZ!
Posted by: CaneRock | February 18, 2014 at 05:53 PM
RCCF,
The only thing I'd say needed fixing from Randy on defense was those boys needed to get back in the weight room. Remember that GT game when they rushed for like 500 yards on us? We were tiny and were poor tacklers. Now we are big but play scared. We have the personel to run either defense right now. The whole no talent thing is a game. There is plenty of talent and has been the whole time. We have talent on all 3 levels. Certainly top 3 ACC talent. But we also have the worst defensive minds in the ACC, Al and Mark. The jury is in, they can't coach D. They get ripped to shreds consistantly then they and their fanboys pass the blame on some quality players. But let's give 'em another 2 years of getting ripped apart. Heck, maybe we might win a bowl game.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | February 18, 2014 at 05:53 PM
Al runs a good program when he's not out flirting with other schools. He recruits well and gets the players in good athletic condition. He made a good hire in Jedd Fisch and it showed quickly. His defenses have shown to be completely outclassed by anyone with a Div 1 QB. He needs to do the right thing for the program and bring in someone to handle this for him and stop covering for his BFF.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | February 18, 2014 at 05:58 PM
The jury is still out on James Coley, who's offense was predictable at best last year and was terrible in terms of consistancy. He's an ace recruiter but is he an OC? I hope there's more to him than bubble screens.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | February 18, 2014 at 06:02 PM

Posted by: The Dude | February 18, 2014 at 05:53 PM
YUP!
If they're gonna give Duh'Nofrexcuses a pass for "lack of material", then Coley deserves the same pass! Some folks talk as if the offense got better, without Duke & PD4. And yes, Coley needs to improve His play calling, but His offense STILL! scored enough points to win the Duke & VT games.
Posted by: CaneRock | February 18, 2014 at 06:07 PM
I think Coley is going through the opposite process of what Fisher went through.
Fisch was a "take what they give you" OC, who turned into a more aggressive play-caller. While Coley, is an aggressive play-caller, who's ALSO learning to take what the defense gives em'.
Posted by: CaneRock | February 18, 2014 at 06:10 PM
Coley may or may not have been hampered by having to play Morris also who is not an accurate QB. I'm not really sure what kind of QB Coley wants running his system either. Fisch really tailored the O to Morris' strengths with a lot of passing on first downs and deep throws to Dorsett. Coley seems to want to run the ball at you and throw off play action which Morris really doesn't do well unless his first read is wide open and 15 yards down field. Coley still runs a lot of OC 101 plays trying to out athlete the competition, bubble screen, stretch throws, stretch runs. To be better next year, or OL has to develop a mean streak to run the ball up the middle with Gus and Dallas and Williams has to be able to read and manipulate safeties and throw accurate throws. With the backs we have Id like to see it be like USC when they had White and Bush, we have Gus and Duke. But USC had a filthy line. Flowers needs to be a first rounder for this to happpen. Feliciano and McDermott need to be All ACC and one of the Freshmen have to be a Freshmen AA.

So if auburn ran all over FSU's 3-4 does that mean they didn't run it?
Posted by: Go Canes | February 18, 2014 at 06:29 PM
As usual a fact turns into a ranting insultfest on here.
FSU ran a 3-4 most of the game. The fact auburn ran all over it is a completely different story.
But that's irrelevant on here.
Posted by: Go Canes | February 18, 2014 at 06:32 PM
FSU runs a hybrid with that Christian Jones kid. The year before they were almost always 4-3 with Werner and Carradine. They seem to play to their strengths. We seem to play to Al and Marks lack of ability to coach D.

Typical of you as well.
Posted by: Go Canes | February 18, 2014 at 06:39 PM
My point Dude is that rCCF talks about scheme a lot when the reality is a larger percentage of schools are running some form of a 3-4, with the number growing constantly.
Not saying D'NO is running it right, but the sophistication of offenses is requiring a change from the status quo.
Posted by: Go Canes | February 18, 2014 at 06:45 PM
Maybe a change is required in scheme? I don't know. But I do think you have to coach with what you have because no matter how much you might want to, that square peg just doesn't fit into that round hole. Mark and Al are just jamming and jamming and jamming that square peg in and are getting nowhere. My point with Christian Jones is, they didn't start doing that hybrid D at FSU until Jones was ready. Before that they were a base 4-3. Does anyone know if FSU runs a 2 Gap scheme for their DL?
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | February 18, 2014 at 06:57 PM
GoCanes my point is and you or 30 NEVER answer you just spit back these numbers wht if's and everybody else is doing it's...
GUESS WHAT... We Didn't Need a Defensive Fix.. Is it that hard for you guys to realize that and stay on that part? Yes I hate our scheme but that speaks to the knowledge of a career TE and Mediocre (s/o Sherman) LB who call themselves Co-Defensive Coordinators/Head/Asst. Coach...too many titles not enough production...Im sure D'No won't be too hurt about being demoted away from the scheme and Golden either...they better act fast tho because as the CEO said the clock is Tickin..

"Sophistication of offenses"?
Really?
How sophisticated was Auburn's souped up WING-T! You talk as if Auburn was runnin' some George Jetson type offense.
NEWSFLASH!...NOTHING! you saw in that NC game was new...NOTHING!
Posted by: CaneRock | February 18, 2014 at 07:08 PM
Yes, you're right, offenses haven't changed a bit.
That's why the NCAA is proposing changes specifically designed to slow them down.
And no one was marveling at Mazhlan's offensive sets and the way he mixed up his formations last season. They also didn't drop 60 on Missouri and 40 on Bama either.
Just a base offense that was easy to read and stop.
Real leather helmet stuff.

Negative people can be as negative as they want to be and everyone else is supposed to not only accept their point of view but embrace it.
On the other hand, positive people are not allowed to even exist because it makes the negative people bitter and angry.
Somewhere in all of that there must be a feature article for the blog?

"if it ain't broke don't fix it"…our offense NEEDED fixing they did that PAT ON THE BACK TO THE GOLDEN STAFF FOR PUTTING LIFE IN THE OFFENSE….our Defense just needed as mentioned before…tackling and weight lifting….that is it…why change it?
