SOUP.. go calm down dude lol

SOUP

1. You think any coach cares about what you want to watch?

2. NO...they want to win, and if it takes fouling guys and prolonging the game, then so be it.

3. If Miami did it, and we won I assume you wouldnt mind lol

Posted by: UMike | February 11, 2014 at 08:31 AM

1. Who is talking about a COACH? I am talking about the sport in general and the rules that govern it. And YES, both college basketball and the NBA cares if I want to ewatch because I represent revenue to both in the form of ticket sales and TV ad revenue. So the more that go to the games and the more that watch on TV means MORE $$$. That makes them care and care a LOT!

2. Again, I will say it S L O W L Y for U: ANY sport that encorages and incentivizes breaking the rules to win is simply a flawed sport.

3. If Miami did it I would dislike it just as much because it is the concept that I am opposed to on principle, not to a team winning or losing, even IF it is "my team". I am above compromising my priciples even if it means my team loses a silly, meaningless game.

UMike

SOUP... dude... take a pill or something. You're looking into this WAY to much bro.... dont do that "SLOWLY" shyt neither like Im a idiot....the team being fouled is REWARDED with free throws... get over it already lol... EVERY sport is flawed..... get off the rocking chair my friend lol

UMike

I see the coach now "I was going to foul and try to extend the game and give my team a chance to win.... but that SOUP guy might not come watch us play again, so I just let them run the clock out" haha

dj moonbat

"Apparently, Buddy Ryan had a scheme when he was with the Houston Oilers in which he’d use 14 players on defense in a goal line situation, intending to stop the run while drawing a penalty to burn time off the clock. The amusing part of this is that, ever the slave to detail, Ryan actually illustrated the formation and showed where the extra players should be positioned."

OK, that's AWESOME. I can completely envision that spiteful lunatic going over the play with his team.

What happened to my post from last night? Go Canes suggested that we don't even judge Golden in 2014(yr. 4) and wait until 2015 to hold Golden accountable. GO Canes was not attack so what gives, is he a paid E-Homer for CaneSpace? If not then why is he allowed post his extreme homerisum for Al Golden and CaneRock and myself get sent the hole for 24 hrs.

This post by GO Canes warrants a minimum of 48 hrs. But no dice

""I'd rather win 8 games with Kaaya, than 10 games with Williams"...is a close second LMAO!"

To even suggest that losing more games would the better then winning more game for the greater good tell me that he is not even a sports fan more less a Canes fan.

Dude what is wrong with you this morning? I obviously understand you are talking about the sport...but you said..

"Nobody wants to watch 8 consecutive intentional fouls being committed and the last minute of the game making 60 seconds last 15 minutes due to all of the stoppages and foul shots."

To which I replied do you think the coach cares if you dont want to watch that, NO, he wants to win....you get it now?

Time to move on before SOUP blows a gasket over the silliest thing lol

This was posted by WildcatDefense on CIS. He's a local coach.

SOUP, email to Golden:

Adrienne Talan. SS/OLB. 6'1" 195lbs 4.4

Told yall about him last year when I posted his Sophomore film (with only a handful of games) and now I'm updating yall with his Junior tape. Receiving interest from UNC, Pitt and a few others. Very, very physical player who plays 100mph.

He just transferred to Flanagan High School a couple weeks ago. Be on the look out. I think he might be able to play Safety for us. Very physical and very rangy.

Go Canes

I should be banned for two days for saying I'd rather take my lumps with Kaaya early instead if prolonging the inevitable one more year?

I don't think most people would take my post literally, I was pointing out, in the context of that conversation, that I'd rather start the future now instead of waiting.

I later acknowledged other peoples opinion to the contrary.

I suggest you look at the hate spew you post that get you removed from here instead of worrying what I think.

LOL, saw that.

What he said was a bit dumb. To his credit, he stepped up and apologized.

UMike

SOUP... how about this... why isnt a QB called for intentional grounding when he spikes the ball???? lol

SinisterCane

GO Canes

I don't spew any hate. 2 other bloggers and myself responded to your "don't hold Golden accountable until 2015 post" and all 3 had their post removed but you are right I thing, when it comes to Golden job performance "there is nothing anyone can say to convince me otherwise"

I totally agree with this. The intentional grounding rule should cover ANY situation where the ball is grounded on purpose, not just to evade a pass rush.

NativeCane

Negative Skool, they werent drunk or female! LOL

I was however in you neighborhood Dale Mabry north of Waters.
Had to spend the night at St Joseph with Beckles, gallbladder.

Dem Canes!!!

30CINCO

The official NFL rules on Intentional Grounding states:
"Intentional grounding will be called when a passer, facing an imminent loss of yardage due to pressure from the defense, throws a forward pass without a realistic chance of completion."

Old Skool

Native. I hope she's okay.

UMike

30... I know the rule, but my point is it is allowed when its obvious it is only to stop the clock. Just weird that its allowed to happen.

30CINCO

True, I guess the penalty is losing the down.

UMike

True, you lose a down, but gain the much more needed advantage of stopping the clock lol... its also weird that when everyone is set and the QB takes a step or two towards the line (see P. Manning) before the snap and its not a false start lol... he lifts his leg and then steps towards the line before the snap.. weird

I think that if a team deliberately avoids trying to advance the ball, they shouldn't be allowed to pocket the extra yardage from the incomplete pass. If you spike the ball, the marker should move back to the place where the 'pass' was thrown, just the way it is with the current intentional grounding rule.

CaneRock

UMike, I got a bball statistical question for you...let's say you pass the ball to somebody, and that person gets foued in the act of shooting, and makes both successive FTs...my question is, does the passer get an assist?

I also agree 100%. It SHOULD be banned from football.

At the current time it is NOT considered a penalty so it is not an intentional violation of the games rules, but that policy should changed and it should become a penalty.

The rule change should make them throw it past the LOS and out of bounds near a WR.

SOUP

Negative Skool, they werent drunk or female! LOL

Correct Ohio_Cane...but my thing is, why isn't it an assist? It was a pass, that led to a score, wasn't it?

Terrance Sullivan

I just want our Canes basketball and baseball teams to win especially against Notre Dame, FAU, Florida, and Boston College. Go Canes!

30CINCO

Why is football called "foot ball"? The feet are used only for kickoffs, field goals, and punts. The majority of plays, hands are used.

SOUP

GO...while I understand the intent of your comment about 8 vs 10 wins and setting up the future and all and realize there was no maliciousness in it, in hindsight I think you will agree that it was a pretty foolish thing to say, right?

"U play to win the game!"

SOUP

UMike...BTW the football analogy was a good one and a clear attempt to step outside yourself and think "outside the box". I am very impressed by that action young man!

Your Mentor,

I am not saying you should be banned or put in "time out" etc, but you clearly said you would take 2 losses just to start Kaaya. Don't come back later after everyone called you out and change it to "we should take our lumps with Kaaya".. that is NOT what you said. Besides, Kaaya is not a shoe-in favorite to start lol... there have been many a 4-Star QB come to UM that was suppose to be the next Dorsey, so lets not get to far ahead of ourselves.

Marc Guillon - 4 Star
Kyle Wright - 5 Star
Kirby Freeman - 4 Star
Robert Marve - 4 Star
Jacory Harris - 4 Star

All highly rated guys...We still have highly regarded 4-Star Kevin Olsen on the roster as well. Just saying you shouldnt assume Kaaya will be a 4 year or even a 3 year started when the kid isnt even on campus yet.
